It's harder to get away with BS Spanish in a country where more than 13% of the population speaks Spanish as a first language. But if it's a letter written in Chinese, hell, just copy random characters off a Chinese restaurant menu. No one's gonna fact check Crickee's fake orders from the General. All the men in the comments acting like many women don't lose shit in divorces. I don't think spouses (men or women) are entitled to anything acquired before the marriage but if they are either the unemployed or only pt during the marriage so they can be the main caregiver/homemaker, then yes they deserve half of anything acquired during the marriage. Kelly Clarkson is a good example of the husband getting half even though he didn't work for years because he was the main caregiver to the children and that allowed her the freedom to chase all the lucrative opportunities that made her the money. The best way to make sure you keep everything is actually putting in the work to make your marriage last, unfortunately so many men and women can't communicate, listen, sacrifice, forgive and all the other necessary things it takes to make a marriage last. Of course i don't mean staying in an abusive marriage.

@@HermesderWetterboteThank GOD times have changed. Can you imagine your 12 year old daughter getting married?! 😳 15, even?
@@angelamiller2577 well, today certainly not. but back then children started working for their parents from the age of 3 on. girls from the ago of 6 up already took care of the younger children and boys worked in heavy labour. when they where 12-14 they were more adult mentally and physically as most people today ever become 😅 In today's time many countries have the luxury to offer a childhood to young people. but there are some exceptions: in agriculture children still have to help their parents starting at the age of 6 because there is no other way financially. and in less developed countries like china, india or afrika children still work, marry and live as adults starting at the age of 12.

i really appreciate that the document is made of actual russian words and not just alphabet gibberish. it's a tiny detail, but the nonsensical writing in foreign movies often throws me off as a speaker, and i imagine it's the same for other languages too
There's an actual word for that. It's called asemic writing. It's used in mixed media a lot.

@@olgahein4384 wait is it actually legit?? i skimmed through it when i paused the video, looked like it made sense, but i didn't know it's real! so cool!
Yeah, it's sad this is still a problem in so many American made movies and shows when they feature languages with other writing systems. It's harder to get away with BS Spanish in a country where more than 13% of the population speaks Spanish as a first language. But if it's a letter written in Chinese, hell, just copy random characters off a Chinese restaurant menu. No one's gonna fact check Crickee's fake orders from the General. Props to the team behind The Great.

If anyone is wondering why Nadia looks familiar, she’s called Kiki May and she also played Rebecca’s niece, Nora, in Ted Lasso. I think she appeared in one of the earlier episodes as one of the girls who attended Catherine’s school for women
I agree but except the kelly Clarkson thing. He cheated. And to me, cheaters should get nothing😅
@@blueseptember2174 I wasn't aware he cheated. Damn too bad she didn't have a prenup stipulating of you cheat you get nothing. I've heard of rich men having prenups with that. Of course when you're young and in the honeymoon phase you think that could never happen. Pretty sure Kelly Clarksons FIL also got a bunch of money when him and Reba divorced.
I lost a lot in a regular breakup ik marriage is worse😭.
A lot of people don’t consider child rearing or homemaking to be a full time job, or the fact that it doesn’t make money but still contributes labor
@blueseptember2174 They shouldn't get anything but she did make more money than him so alimony made sense.

Russian native here. Fun fact: Russian language in the document is accurate, but not time-appropriate. It uses modern Russian, which is a result of language modification in the USSR. Older Russian had additional letters and stylistic differences.

@@mahatmaghandi4288 What part? Women historically have been undervalued and oppressed. Now women are still oppressed but have marginally more rights so people think things are dandy.
They should be happy they get the divorce and not be poisoned with aqua tofana. They really expect women forced into these consequences will be some idle, exchangeable property? Fools, lots of them.
They didn't have any choice did they with half of their adult years spent in pregnancy. There were very few comfy jobs back then with the exception of nobels and merchants and also them had to travel for days by horse or on foot in many occasions. They just could not provide as much and were too weak (during pregnancy) and unavailable to make major contributions on productivity . Also war and disease , famine looming on the horizon like is a casual Friday didn't make anything better. With no advancement in technology, with no social benefits, with no civil rights, with no change of the politic system from because of inheritance to an elected, with no wide availability of education and lack of major wars I can't see how would feminsim allow to progress.
