excellently done! a lovely photo anthology. and it's such a "trip" to hear Ms. Fraser rendering old school "ART ROCK," complete with Chris Squire-style bass licks and analog synth passages! wow wow and double wow again! this song makes me feel like i'm a teenager zooming on purple microdot again.
It is the most pleasant surprise. I'm a fun of Cocteau Twins, but also always loved this song by Chic ( not to mention Robert Wyatt and above all " Cassiber " ). Well done Elizabeth
You will find this song on a Cd Complilation (feat. various artists) called : "Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before" Label : Rough Trade (UK) - Released : 2003
my generation - i just discovered that she's from 1963 (august - i'm from july) - i can't say that she's the voice of my generation (that would be much honour put on us) - but, considering the poor music produced in the 80's, i'll say that she redeems it... thx so much ! (to elisabeth in the first place - et à caropask, pour ce bel hommage)
This is a more contemporary version of the legendary Chic's version of 1978. Chic was just great as a funky group. We can see this version is a bit more melancolic and yet beautiful
A raw heart pulsing through open space it's voice penetrating all manifestations transforming into an angelic state of mind where all viciousness starts crying melting into the core of all that exists a voice beyond all Labels... (°o}
Nice tunes ...im sure the ''twins ''inspired goth metal bands like Floor Jansen ,Ayreon, Therion etc...you can hear the influence..love this more recent stuff than'' This Mortal coil era material oddly enough
at this point, I'll make a new version myself, a venetian baroque version ( Monteverdi above all ) mixed with Peter Hammil V D Graaf generator dark glissando
Elizabeth you are a exquisite, beautiful creature..what a gorgeous song
Thank you.
Big Liza ! One ofthe bedt voices I ever heard in my life.

To clear this up: 'At Last I Am Free' was written by Nile Rodgers & Bernard Edwards of CHIC and was first released on CHIC's 1978 album 'C'est Chic'.

There's only one person who can sing harmonies with Liz Fraser, and that person is Liz Fraser.
I was just thinking exactly that while listening to Silent Spring.

I wonder if she feels ''free'' from a certain man here...I know how great it can feel to liberate yourself from the wrong person...
Merci à vous... Votre commentaire me touche beaucoup. :)
This is closer to Robert Wyatt's version from 1980

Well, actually, Nile Rodgers & Chic "covered" the original song, composed and sung by UK's Robert Wyatt!
Sorry but Chic wrote this first, 30 years before Robert Wyatt covered it.
@theMacvarish lol
She should sing at the royal wedding!
Robert Wyatt owns this! Always has. Sorry.
