YES! I believed their narrative of me for years! I’m 49 and God woke me up 4 yrs ago- My Mom and oldest son think my boundaries are Rules and stuck up- I’m leaving them with God🙏💕
I escaped a Covert Narcissist husband a couple years ago, but I keep watching your videos, because I'm deeply concerned, I could get fooled again. Right now, I've made a point to keep people, especially men at arms length, to protect myself from the sneaky, toxic people.
Thank you for sharing. God has life-giving relationships in store for you. Pray that He will heal your heart and show you the right men to connect with because they are out there. God bless you. 🙏🏽💕
Thank you madame 🙏. The bible also teaches us about setting Healthy boundaries and not poring our energy on people who are toxic: in the book of Matthew chapter 7 verses 6 "Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces." In contrast, the apostle Paul also tells us about the qualities we can find in healthy, meaningful relationships in Colossians 3:12-17
Really love what you said about Jesus having boundaries. He is often propped up as a model of sacrifice and used to gaslight people into violating their own God-given intuition around what boundaries are appropriate. In all truth, and as you mention, he lived with a great deal of boundaries and was often reaching a breaking point in his ability to stay patient in dealings with others. This is all too relatable, I'm afraid.
...I was told consistently my entire life I was, tooo sensitive...when I was 70 years old, I learned our sensitivity is a gift, and spiritual sensitivity is our connection to the divine. A precious gift from God. We need to develop that gift, and protect it from those who lack. Narcissist of course being the greatest threat...and their everywhere. Carol A Brown has some excellent books on spiritual sensitivity. Thank you for your dedication to helping us Shaneen, bless you.
I had to leave my last church because the pastor and his wife, and his staff sidekick all totally disrespected my boundaries repeatedly. I’ve had other previous disappointing dynamics in other churches but this was the worst. I’m so tired of religious hypocrites and hirelings. I just can’t trust anyone in church anymore, the world is so sinful now the church is stacked with narc and enablers and I just can’t. It’s me and my Bible and Jesus now
I would like to hear more about your experiences with the toxic church. I suspect a toxic positivity in my church which prevents people from sharing their deeper truths.
I have watched so many videos on this subject and this is BY FAR the most thorough, concise, and SPOT ON account of the lies of toxic people when trying to bulldoze a heathy person’s boundaries! Amazing! If this could be taught in every grade in k-12, we would have a MUCH healthier society!
#4: This sounds all too familiar. I was told to forgive because the Bible says you must forgive as Jesus forgives. Never mind that this person did not repent/change their behavior (and holds grudges against others). I was expected to sweep it under the rug.
Shaneen thank you for these deep dives into what healthy relationships vs unhealthy relationships biblically ought to look like. You are very much appreciated.
Praise God for raising a standard against those trying the lower the standard of living, praise God for having healthy boundaries meant to serve us and others best! I therefore bind to hell one feeling guilty of setting up healthy boundaries towards others around one in my life, the lives of my family, friends, colleagues, neighbours, acquitances, the children I teach, opponents and the body of Christ while binding one to feel confident putting up healthy boundaries between oneself and another around one while binding to hell every desire to cross another one's healthy boundaries while binding one to desire to respect the healthy boundaries of another, binding to hell every unequal yoke and common share with anyone feeling guilty or trying to make another feel guilty for putting up healthy boundaries with others around one and anyone not respecting the healthy boundaries of another, in accordance with this word and matthew 5:37, deuteronomy 19:14, 2 corinthians 6:14-18 in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, amen and hallelujah, glory to God ❤!
Would parents who feel their children keep their bedroom door closed and demand it to stay open just because they feel the child is isolating themselves count as breaking boundaries?
‘You’re too sensitive’
This is a phrase they love.
Yes 💯

I feel u! Ppl are so sneaky especially if u were raised by narcissistic parents. It becomes the norm. We have to learn to have chaos!!!
Thank you. I've had a life without boundaries. I felt as if I was the villain for wanting boundaries.

This is good. It reminds me of Henry Clouds book, NECESSARY ENDINGS
(He also wrote BOUNDARIES)
Yes, those are great books 📚

Overt narc dad, covert narc co-dependent enmeshed mom, both hyper religious so your video on why narcs love religion hit home.
Thank you so much for the videos.

Good one
Thank you Shaneen, very helpful information. 🙏🙏
Can’t seem to find the blog post about narcissistic rage?
This is excellent. Do you have the script for this?
