This is totally true for me, i have avoiding all this for a few years now because i learned to hear my body how does it feel after certain foods and have seen a total improvement in my life, Thanks for sharing
I have made most of these changes. Low sugar, low carb, gluten free diet. I still drink a cup of moderately strong morning coffee (with beneficial herbs, such as ginger, ginseng, cinnamon, and turmeric), and have a few drinks now and again. On the plus side, I eat raw garlic with my first meal, exercise daily, and get regular sunshine (I live in the tropics). I take my thyroid meds on an empty stomach in the afternoon. Overall, my health is good at 68.
My wife has hashimotos thyroid disease. I watch your videos and share them with the wife. I wish she would take things more seriously. I believe it would help her a ton. Your a very intelligent & helpful person Dr. Childs. Thanks for sharing all your information.
Thanks! I took my thyroid medication with coffee for 30 years. Now I dissolve my NP thyroid tablets under my tongue. I’ve also quit caffeine of all forms. I tried stopping cold turkey, but my laps of course tanked. My TSH shot up to 34 and my T4 was .11. I resigned myself to the fact I have a sick thyroid. Maybe now that I’ve cleaned up my diet. Things will get better.
Changing the diet can make a life-changing difference for many people (did for me) and I am so happy for you that you quit coffee too. It's such a difficult thing but so worth it!
@ quitting coffee was harder than quitting alcohol lol I’ve been alcohol for two years and caffeine free for 45 days. I quit before but now I know the secret for myself. I cannot have any caffeine at all. Decaf coffee is not a road that I can walk. It eventually leads to mass caffeine consumption. Lol.
@@LoydTurner Wow! I believe it! Great job being off of both - and 45 days is great! It will keep getting easier over time. I have been caffeine-free for about 3 months now and I am finally feeling a lot better. I felt better after week 1, but I feel like it gets way better months in. I too feel like I can't have any caffeine at all. I hate how I feel when I have any. I am way less tired overall now. I understand what you're saying as caffeine was my only real addiction and I was in such denial before. So glad I quit!
I’m confused about the iodine, I thought it made it worse. How would you be able to manage it to avoid it harming you, as you can over do selenium to toxic levels?
Upon reaching Hashimoto's remission, iodine supplementation became feasible. With stable TPO antibodies since 2019, I've initiated J. CROW'S Lugol's Solution 2% (2 drops) and selenium 100 mg , devoid of throat constriction 🙏🏻Carnivore diet all the way! 😊
@@jgoodwin977 You can eat seaweed chips or have a little spirulina in some water or smoothie (like a low dosage kelp). I personally eat a plant based diet, never felt better, my markers are improving. I think keto and carnivore diets in the long term just add up to the inflammation and cardiovascular issues.
I experimented with removing gluten from my diet about 6 months ago and i have felt and seen a rather big difference in my body in the first month. For years i would wake up and my hands would hurt, swell and be extremely stiff in the morning. My stomach would be extremely bloated ALL the time. Since i have cut gluten my hands are not even near as inflimated anymore and my stomach isn't sticking out. I attempted to eat a slice of pizza and it felt like my joints were on fire the next morning. At the very least if you have hashimoto's it is worth trying to cut gluten. Also, by cutting gluten, you unintentionally end up having up cut a lot of processed foods out of your diet.
If one has hypothyroidism in its subclinical stage and the root cause is hashimotos thyroiditis. And that person is very underweight with BMI 14 (underweight since childhood) What it causing one to be underweight? 😅
I cut them all except that one cup of coffee. I take my meds in the middle of the night when I awaken to the bathroom. I eat no carb, carnivore and have been feeling better since January 2024.
The doctor who told you that you were iodine-deficient would know best. Dr. Childs cannot advise you ; he knows nothing about your physical body (size, etc), symptoms, or medical history.
With dairy products is it okay to consume some whole fat plain Greek yogurt daily if I’m not dairy intolerant I usually have 1 1/2 cups in the morning with chopped walnuts. Also what about plain kefir? Thank you I’m advance
I am thinking about buying myself the whole buckle of thyroid blood exams since my doctor only gives me TSH and FT4 and nothing more, I know that I need to do FT3,RT3,T3,TgAB TPOab what about? Would it help in creating the better image of my thyroid? anty-TG or to do it instead of some other tabs like tgAB or TPOab if they are the same but I do not know. There must be something more going with my body I have the hardest time putting any muscle and I feel like 89 year old while being 19. Thanks for any answers
You're supposed to take the Synthroid first thing in the morning with a glass of water and the not eat for a little while. I don't get why ANYONE would take it while drinking coffee?! You're defeating the purpose.
I definitely have non-celiac gluten sensitivity, because as soon as I removed it for over half a year now from my diet my digestive issues disappeared and my TSH dropped to half, the antibodies and overall Hashi symptoms improved too. I removed dairy too and eat a plant based diet, never felt better. I have the feeling that all these autoimmune diseases start because of poor gut health, metabolic issues, hence inflammation in the body.
Thank you for sharing your experience. Can you help me please. How do you get that 1000 mg of calcium each day? I eliminated dairy for one month and developed calcium deficiency.
@eidwomm7776 I honestly supplement it for 10 days for 3 months, than take a break for 3 months. I also take a bioavailable gluten free yeast based multivitamin that contains well absorbable calcium too.
what about legit medical studies that show soy does not affect human estrogen levels? unlike animal products which absolutely affect human estrogen levels.
Hi- love your content but your audio is terrible. I have to turn my volume way up to hear you compared to other videos, it sounds very muffled & fake. My husband is an audio engineer in Nashville if you need tips, he’d be happy to help.
The differentiation you make between processed and unprocessed sugars is chemically ridiculous. It all gets digested as either pure glucose or pure glucose and fructose. The way your body handles these digestion products does not depend on their source.
There's no evidence that avoiding gluten or dairy when there isn't an allergy or intolerance improves Hashimoto. Same with soy or brocoli, they only interefere with the absorption of levothyroxine, just as every other food, drink or medication does.
It's probably based on his clinical experience with clients. This is something that is well-known, but a lot of people don't want to give up their favorite treats and foods.
Hi sir namaste🙏, My age is 33 yrs, weight 45kgs,unmarried., iam suffering from Hashimoto 4 yrs. Now my situation is very worst, full of iron Defficiancy Hb 6%, ferritin 5% , and also B12 , vitamin D, calcium deficiency. Is drinking coconut milk daily good for hashimoto? Can i eat curries prepared by like Hibiscus sabdariffa var. rubra, Amaranthus viridis, Moringa oleifera leaves? Due to financial problems I can not buy high price foods.

Lugal's iodine 5%. Our body requires iodine to function. We've been mislead to believe iodine isn't safe to consume.

How about hyperthyroidism? Ive been diagnosed with Graves disease but luckily I dont have the bulging eyes.

What if you are allergic to casein? Can you do hard cheese?
Or should avoid all the milk or hard cheese you listed to try?
What about Raw milk ?
Exactly, one of the best things to drink
Make sure it's A2 grass fed organic
