    I really appreciate the info you share in this video. I’m restoring a set of 15x8 XAJ’s. One was bent so I went on a hunt to fine one.
    Had a guy try to sell me two different 6.5” DAS wheels. And he wanted to argue that they were 8”. 🤦‍♂️
    I finally found the correct wheel in his pile.
    Thanks again, without this video I probably would have bought a wrong wheel.

    Great info there!!! Thx!
    I cut my teeth on Dad’s ‘84 C10, n school, back n ‘85-‘89. I stuck a set of 3-pt spinners on the factory 5-lug center caps. Looked great!!
    Peel the sticker off, & use a set screw & jam nut. On that particular set of spinners I had, the I.D. of the spinners was a good snug fit over the center caps. Then still used the spinner locking set screw to keep them from unscrewing! Also, watch the alignment of the spinner points, as they don’t interfere w/the center cap screws. It’ll prevent a COMPLETE disassembly!

    I myself have had several sets of 15x8 k5 and k15 and k10 blazer and suburban rally wheels and the current set of gm factory wheels i still have for a truck are kinda mire uncommon the 75-84 gm steel spoke style sport truck k5 blazer and suburban wheels... Also came out on Chevy sport 76-80 Chevy stepside trucks... I don't have the caps, and they have been repainted with Rust-Oleum white but I got ahold of a early 94 Chevy two tone onyx gloss black with the quicksilver center going down the sides and the tailgate,Z71 Silverado extended cab short bed and they are the wheels that was on the truck when I traded for it and the kid said the farmer he got it off of put them on there and the kid i got it from was saying that he thinks they are just some knock off white spoke wheels minus the res and blue lip pinstripes except for the weird looking threaded holes in between the lugs, and I said that is why I know what they are those holes are for the bolts that mount the gm rally center caps to the wheels....

    Just seen this video, and thanks for the info on the 6 lug later model center caps that are shorter. I think they make the 8" rallies look more deep dish with the 3" deep trim rings. Just an idea for guys that like these rallies I ran a 275/ 60 series 15" tire on my old 68 c10. They fill in the fender wells really good and they"re wide. Gives it that muscle truck look! She's under restoration and cant wait to put a set back on it .. Great video buddy!!

      @ItsTheChad71  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You bet! I think the thinner caps look pretty slick. I like the look of 275s as well. I have never ran them up front. Usually 235s and 275s or 255s all the way around. I bet it looks good on a 68 since it has a narrower rear end.

    Chevy suburban used 15/8 wheels up threw 91 with 235 /15 tires ....the tires were tough to mount because the wheel was so wide and used the older 5 lug center caps . Alot of the square body 4x4 trucks threw 87 we're also 8 inch because they put 31/10.50 /15 tires on at the factory . Good video for people that is not familiar with rally wheels....that make an old truck look good. One day I will have another 67 c10 ...it was my first and best truck....most reliable after I motered it and rebuilt the front end and tranny.

    • @ItsTheChad71
      @ItsTheChad71  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @ItsTheChad71
      @ItsTheChad71  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would mainly be a personal preference. If you go the same size all around, you will be able to rotate them easier. I like the looks of wider tires in the rear and it gives you a little bit bigger contact patch for the light rear end.

    I have a 82 gmc, my question is can 195/50 15r tire go well with 15"x8 rally?

    • @ItsTheChad71
      @ItsTheChad71  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      195/50s would be pretty narrow and short on an 8”. I can’t say for sure since I’ve never used them. Smallest I’ve run is 235/60s in the front. I prefer 255 or 275 on the rears to fill in the wheel tubs.

      I’m traditional and like the original 6 lug truck rallies. They have a little more depth than the 5 lug as well.

      I believe all S10 2wd and 4wd were 5x4.75 bolt pattern. I have seen these wheels on S10s though. I assume they are using a wheel adapter. The Rallies are 5x5 and 6x5.5.

    How rare are the 15x7? I looked for awhile and finally found some for my 1972 1/2 ton 2wd custom. I went to a cruise night and a person came up and told me they were really rare. 15x8 and the 15x6.5 van rims are most common. The 15x7 never came on the 67-72 trucks? Have you ever heard of anyone widening the 15x8 6 lug rim to 15x10? Thanks keep videos coming.

    • @ItsTheChad71
      @ItsTheChad71  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! The 15x7s are the hardest to find. A lot of guys like running the staggered set for looks. Others like them up front on disc brake conversions to eliminate wheel rub on the lower control arm. None of the GM truck rallies came on a 67-72, even though they are on a ton now. They were 73-87 squares. GM did right with these wheels. They look good on several eras of trucks. As for widening a 15x8 to a 10", yes. The video I made of my buddies black 72 named Miss Represented had a widened set of 71-72 rims on his. The pulled the hoop, widened it and welded it back on. Now days, a lot of guys will buy the 15x10 aftermarket ones to save time and money.

    I have a set of 5 lugs, but the center caps have no holes for the normal 3 screw mounts! this makes me theorize they must be held in place with screws from the back! thus the wheels must be taken off, first to remove the center caps. IDK, not going to take the tire/wheel off just to research this, but it's definitely odd, IMO.

    • @ItsTheChad71
      @ItsTheChad71  ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct. They mount from the rear. Those center caps were only made a few years and have more of a cone shape. I have one in another video about the truck Rally Wheel center caps. You might check it out and see if it's the one you have. Thanks for watching!

    I have an odd one that you don’t mention. 6lug 15x8 but only 3 of the nubs are drilled, not all of them like you stated. I can send you the video of them if you like. They have the letters “DAB” on them

      I think the bolt pattern on a Monte is 5x4.75. The 5 lug truck rallies were 5x5. You could use the original car and el Camino rallies though.
