Very accurate how-to description, including letting the contact cleaner act and dry (and not being used as lubricant to stick the fuse in immediately after application). With this treatment that fuse box will give no problem for years to come. Note: I am surprised there appears to be no fuse cover on the box.

My 2012 road glide blinkers and what I came to find out my brake lights quit working (but still lit) out of the blue. After changing the blinker bulbs which didn’t work, and made sure my brake fuse wasn’t blown, I decided to pull each fuse and check them. Found the “accessory” fuse was blown. Changed it and all blinkers and brake lights now work.

It seems I've spent endless days chasing ghosts on '80s bikes, all the corroded bits and switches where you can't point to one specific issue, it's just the whole system stacking up all the little voltage drops into one big voltage drop. When I bought my new bike, when I was going through it, I soldered every terminal crimp that wasn't sealed inside a weatherproof connector, ie all the fuseblock terminals, relay terminals, battery cable lugs, etc. That was over two decades ago and I'm not seeing any major voltage drop issues on my bike. Time well invested I'd say.

ive been all over my harley and so far have never found a fuse box. i have 3 circuit breakers, a starter relay and ignition module and thats about it. 1994 fxsts manual doesnt show a fuse box in the wiring diagram either. must be a new thing:) my bike was made when they thought it was much more fun to burst into flames then pop a fuse. I love your vids. id like to see some more on older bike repairs. almost the only source there for me is delboys garage. which is great but i like to see different thoughts on certain repairs. please tell me youre not one of those harley shops like around here where they tell me my bike is OBSOLETE and i need to get a new one. I feel if i keep up on the maintenance and replace parts proactively then i do have a new bike just not with as many features. some of us like that there isnt a computer that makes the engine fire or gas flow. the repair i have to do next there is almost no videos on and that is the complete rebuild of the springer fork. only ROMA i have found.

Of course at auto stores you can buy 5 fuses for $5. Do auto parts stores offer fuses that will work for Harleys or is this a dealer only thing ? I would really appreciate your thoughts

I have several items that say to have both a switched and constant power connection like a Denali SoundBomb horn, Kuryakyn MTX Speaker system, and I'd like to add another USB and possibly an LED lighting system to glitz it up a bit. I came across a solid state one called the PDM60 but don't know anything about cost and if this is overkill.

Ask them to access your bikes parts list with wiring and order the parts you need. Many on line will suggest you build a harness yourself. Be very careful going down this path….Doc

Well I always keep it on a battery tender...and went to fire her up one day after sitting for a month...She is normally hard to turn because of the compression...but this time it was extremely slow..so I knew that battery was shot...she was about 3 years old.. I now have the new battery in....and its turning over rapidly...but getting no fuel... I dont hear the PRIME right when I turn the key to the RUN position. Why would you turn the Switch on, Then pull the Main Fuse? Instead of just disconnecting the battery.

You have to turn the switch on to wait for the security system to go off before pulling. If you pull the fuse or disconnect the battery without that step, the alarm will go off.

Why on earth would anyone brush any of the fuses????
Just remove them, throw away and put new ones in.
