I met Clint Eastwood in London forty odd years ago when I was an 18 year old soldier on leave. I asked for his autograph and he said sure…but I didn’t have anything for him to sign. He actually took a £1 note from his wallet, signed it and said, “have a beer on me too”……..a great man.

They both looked at each other and kind of gave a nod like it was just two guys, no big deal. I Was awestruck and asked him why he didn't get an autograph. Scott never endured plane crashes and shark swimming etc. Clint starred in birdman of Alcatraz but to actually swim 2 miles off the shores of San Fransisco like that his real life is more badass than his movies. He is my all time greatest actor.

I love how the Unforgiven takes that cliche Western violence where guys get shot grab their heart and fall down dead. Two guys having a shootout at high noon. All dramatic. Nope. In this movie it’s about real violence. Beating the shit out of people in the middle of the street and blowing someone’s head off with a shotgun at point blank range while they’re lying on the floor. It’s so real. Awful violence done by mean sons of bitches. That’s what really happened.

My grandad on one side is a massive history buff and knows the entire family history like the back of his hand with a library archiving pictures, documents records etc of the family and the various interesting stories that necessarily occur among a large group of people. Like my great grandfather delivered a letter to Padraig Pearse one of the great Irish rebels that helped free Ireland for instance.
On the other side of the family, my grandparents went and did things that needed doing they never tarried about or preserved their heads in the past they kept moving forward. From poverty to wealth and prosperity. Moving to America, owning bars meeting people and bouncing around. The stories and glimpses you'd hear of their life were amazing. But you almost had to pry it out of them.
The people who do the reading and listening don't do the living and moving on. Neither is better than the other but personally what I've learned is to live life to its fullest and not to let its punches knock you down completely.

Years ago Clint was filming a movie here in Athens Ga where we live. Where he was filming the water was messed up so they called my hubby who works for the city water department to fix it. He got to meet Clint and he said that Clint Eastwood was a most humble and kind human. He took the time to talk to my husband and they just shot the sh*t together. My husband loves his movies so he was excited to meet him and he turned out to be just a regular guy. He actually watched my hubby do the repair and was interested in how he fixed this pipe. He got my hubby a Coke and they just talked and drank a Coke. We have had other movies filmed around us but none of the others couldn't even compare to Clint. One day Kim Basinger and Alex Baldwin got behind me checking out groceries. Kim was pretty nice but Alex Baldwin was a ASS. At first I didn't know who they were but when I recognized them she was nice and we talked some, but Alex thought someone owed him something. This was when she bought the town Braselton Ga. She is from Athens and my inlaws went to school with her. Georgia has a lot of the Hollywood people living her, but it's not all a great thing.

I can't imagine having Clint Eastwood as a father, but Scott seems like a really down to earth dude.

I watched a reality show some years ago with his ex-wife Dina Ruiz in Carmel where Clint was mayor (Clint appeared in it one time - you can imagine his thoughts about reality tv😂) and 3 or 4 of his kids and they were all nice kids. Dina was/is a great mom.

Scott was raised mostly by his mom so i'd say the way he turned out is thanks to her!

Clint is my all time favourite actor. Probably because he stars literally all the best Italian westerns, the good the bad, fistfull of dollars, for a few dollars more etc. etc. What a legend.

Yup. Certainly not the "best" actor ever, but certainly one of the most favorite, most iconic, and most legendary. Arguably the best Western genere movie actor tho!

Clint Eastwood and Donald Sutherland, two of my favorite actors of all time. Donald is now gone and when Clint passes there is nobody that can replace these legends.
