Steve Young with his massive $5 million contract in 1993 haha. Man I miss those days before the salary cap when QB contracts didn’t destroy a team’s cap.
@@coachelly86 the only thing salary caps do is protect the owners from themselves. It also protects the cheap owners from the owners willing to spend. All of these owners are billionaires. Some will spend whatever it takes to win and others are looking only for profits. I say let the owners spend whatever they want to spend. Any of these owners could easily dip into their own pockets to increase payroll by $50 million every year if they wanted to, and it wouldn’t even make a dent in their net worth anyway. They’re all investors and will just move money around or make it back and more on other investments anyway.
@@jpete3027666 A lot of the teams are in financial struggle, and beg money from the municipal. Also the players get loads of money for no results. Thats one shitty system....
I remember the Bay Area media ripping the team a new asshole because they struggled against a bad team at home and the run defense was awful. They didn't make excuses like today, like "it was a wake up call. They needed this loss".
Watters had HOF numbers. If a back like Floyd Little who has no business in the HOF is in, Watters should be there to. But he did fumble, along with Craig and Tyler.
He was better than Derrick Louville and Adam Walker, the Niner RBs in '95. Young got killed all season because we didn't have a running game except for Young himself. Shortened Young's career and cost us a ring.
Steve Young was a nice guy but wasn't worth the money. Definitely overated . Too many fumbles and interceptions in big games when it was time to deliver. He cost the GOAT at least 3 Superbowls

are you insane? the salary cap literally curbs the astronomic contracts, otherwise it would be like MLB

Back then $5M would have crushed teams’ cap
@@KingJaymo2k11 adjusted for inflation it is about 12-15 million today, so no.
Your videos are so 😎. Blast from the past.
Back when the pre game was only 30 minutes Now it's 30 minutes too long
And now they are LOUD Clown Shows!

Why did the Run & Shoot offense disappear from the NFL?
The game Steve Young threw a pass to Steve Young

That should be the salaries today in 2024
2:26:45 = vintage Steve Young!

A rare time when the Redskins are wearing red uniforms.
burgundy, to be precise.
I like Nantz and Romo, but (I know they are in the studio) they’re not Gumbel and Bradshaw.
Lol at the doomerism from the salary cap discussion, no more dynasties or aging super stars?
Ricky waters always fumbled the damn ball was not that great of a back

@@nicholaseaster58 getting rid of Watters was foolish without replacing him, but I remember he was a headcase.

49ers Defense Cost them too.
Really? What years?
9ers should not have let Sanders & Watters go I think that was their downfall
