Hey for all those worried that they replaced Jake from State Farm in a pandering attempt, I have some good news. The original Jake from State Farm was an actual agent who won a contest to be in the commercial. He was not an actual actor and did not want to appear in more commercials. Thus the company hired a new actor to play Jake in further commercials. However, they are not passing him off as the same Jake, and have confirmed that he is a different character who just also happens to be named Jake. Otherwise, it would be a little weird that he was talking to the original Jake in this commercial. You heard me right, that is the other agent he talks to is the original Jake!
Did they ever explain why they thought we found a guy named Jake funny because his name was Jake? And you know, not the commercial being hilarious and his name just happened to be Jake? @Jimmy Gibbsit's true what they say about all you folks: Liberalism IS a mental disorder. The original Jake, "quit"! Like the Sonic guys "quit" after all the BLM looting and riots. I understand that they can't recreate the entire commerical, but it also would've made it so much better for the first part to have been remade with different actors playing the role. It wouldn't of been that hard in budget, it's just setting up the same scene (with different characters mind you)and going from there. Overall, the homage seems rather dull in comparison.
It was nice either way to see the put the effort though. I'm also happy to see they included the original Jake from the commerical as a side character, he almost seemed like a different person from the weight difference.
Good for him!

He also happens to talk to the same exact people who say the same exact thing or are they "different characters" too?
State farm lore
@@Kunlxo The guy that says "Uh yeah" in the new one is the og jake from state farm. so i think they are both Jake from state farm
Did they ever explain why they thought we found a guy named Jake funny because his name was Jake? And you know, not the commercial being hilarious and his name just happened to be Jake?
I hate the new commercials it’s just some guy! Why does everyone in commercial land know and love this random dude??
@@mukilandhinesh3931no he's just black pandering version. They also left out the last line so it doesn't offend the psycho men pretending to be women
"Well, she's a guy, so," was the reason that commercial was so loved, and of course they remove it thinking people would love it the same as they used to.
Why did they change the white character to a black character???
And why did they remove the line...."she sounds hideous"???
Because of diversity and subversive reasons.
oh well whats wrong with the black one the white one is in the background
Honestly, having a black guy doesn’t really change anything. It is kinda sad that they took out the punchline though.

MAKE SOMETHING ORIGINAL WITH THEM?
Looking back at this is nostalgic especially seeing the old jake drone State Farm I saw that commercial a lot as a kid pretty nostalgic
The issue I have with this is why would they change it? The old commercial was a pop culture reference and now they are beating a dead horse. Smh
Because they can...
Its good advertising if everyone is talking about it. Duh! Not only good but brilliant!
Wendell Fouts that’s a really good point I didn’t even think about that! lol
I heard the original actor that played Jake died because his wife killed him.
Whitney L. he’s literally behind the desk
So they had to throw in a token black guy someone probably complained and thought the original was racist
Negative they had to replace it because of the LGBTQ community. You can't say "she sounds ugly" and respond with "well she's a guy" because the transgenders get upset. Don't put that on my people ✊🏿
Dark Knight thanks for the clarification. I also through it was some racial shenanigans

It's one thing to remake this commercial with a new Jake, but to keep the old skit?? Such a dumb thing to do.
macaroni cheese they actually didn’t replace him because when the new Jake asked if they ask what your wearing the old Jake answers
Not really. It's nostalgic, and they didn't want to change it up too much. Or else it would just be like a Diary of A Wimpy Kid reboot.
Deoxysoverlord “It’s nostalgic and they didn’t want to change it up a bit” So they’re unoriginal in other words.
@@deoxysoverlord8710 Nostalgia shouldn't be a driving force in genuine creativity for a new commercial to promote your company. @@alastair_the_lyon You are being racist. They didn't CHANGE him black. He's a different person. The old Jake is at the end.
I think the whole reason they put old jake in the end of the version they don’t show anymore is so people can say “he’s on the end of the unshorted version”. it’s blackwashing. They intentionally changed his race to seem progressive. You can say “he’s still there” till your blue in the face, doesn’t change the fact they did the same commercial part for part and made the mc black.
I thought I was tripping off the Mandela effect

Are you kidding me?
It’s kinda cool bc the old jake is in the back telling new jake what to do ✌️
The way things should be
The explanation for their need to switch actors was so pathetic “Rather than use the State Farm employee who had originated the role, however, the company opted to find a new Jake - a process that took weeks of deliberation. The company didn’t deliberately seek a person of color for the role, but rather someone with “high likability,” says Harbert. Miles “had a vibe that was young yet practical.”
The original jake doesn't even work for state farm anymore and isn't an actor, he has a cameo in this but I doubt he wants to be the face of a company like Jake has become.

When I was a kid my family named our dog Jake. When we went to the vets always called him Jake from State Farm we thought it was cute so we decided to make his full name Jake From State Farm. Our next visit the vets were pleasantly surprised when they found out that his actual name was Jake From State Farm.
I’m super impressed that the husband and wife delivered their lines exactly the same like ten years later😂
I know right? It is almost as if they re-used the ols footage, which would further begs the question, "Just WHY in the world did they have to add a character?"
I mean replace.
The entire commercial is the same, they only added a black Jake because they're WOKE now. So when you say they delivered the lines the same way, it's cause it is the ORIGINAL commercial, just added a black 'star' because State Farm is a huge liberal, progressive crap company
@Jimmy Gibbsit's true what they say about all you folks: Liberalism IS a mental disorder. The original Jake, "quit"! Like the Sonic guys "quit" after all the BLM looting and riots. Now State Farm is portraying the "black Jake" as accepting unlawful gratuities (Quid pro quo) for giving people a special perceived discount in EVERY commercial he's in. So is State Farm making Jake to be unethical and immoral getting all these "freebies" because he's black??
If you're too blinded with TDS to see the 'inclusion' in every commercial on tv today, then I feel bad for you. Take your blinders off and watch tv for an hour and look at the commercials. It's Hollywood Propaganda, pushing the liberal agenda down the throat of Americans..... somewhat subliminally.
@@whiskeytangofoxtrot4523 I get it. You're mad that the new Jake is handsome and like a superhero. (His power is irresistible likability!) It's alright. During the heat of the pandemic I expected State Farm to make this commercial but when the wife asks "what are you wearing Jake from state farm?" they'd cut to Jake working from home and he'd say "uhh pajamas"... Such a missed opportunity.
They had to get rid of the “hideous” and “she’s a he” parts because it was insensitive. I’m assuming, but that’s the only logical reason they would have changed this icon commercial that everyone would talk about or quote or meme.
It wasn’t insensitive, it was funny. The change to new Jake was to appeal to black people
