Elephant Havens Relocation of MmaMotse, Tsholofelo, Bonolo and Lerumo

MmaMotse, Tsholofelo, Bonolo and Lerumo took a big leap last month by moving into our soft release area. We are so proud of them but, at the same time, will miss seeing and “loving on” them every single day as we have for the last 3-4 years. It felt a bit like dropping off children for their first day of kindergarten as our “kids” excitedly entered their new grounds.
While this moment is bittersweet for us, we’re so happy for our babies to take the next step of their exciting journey back to being the wild elephants that they should be. This has been our goal from the start of Elephant Havens, and this process will play out again and again over the years, but we will always have the softest spot for our “founding” babies who have taught us so much-especially our very first rescue and matriarch, MmaMotse.
Please enjoy watching the excitement and wonder of MmaMotse, Tsholofelo, Bonolo and Lerumo as our team guides them to their new home where they will grow and thrive as we continue to watch over them-even though it will now be from afar.
