    I questioned if the rice was over seasoned. Maybe try some misses dash for seasoning as well if u want to add flavor but no salt. As adobo & seasoning salts first ingredient is salt.

    How much water was in the pot originally? Before the 4 cups was added it looked like it was already water in there? Am I seeing it wrong? This looks sooo good bless you mama.

    • @CookingwithWinn
      @CookingwithWinn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't add any water before the 4 cups, the water you seeing on it is the remaining water from washing the rice.

    • @larrywolenskimechanical1951
      @larrywolenskimechanical1951 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      look on the bag of rice. Usually the ratio to cook rice is 1 cup rice to 1 to 1.5 cups of water. Tread carefully or else your rice will be soft/mushy. Obviously you can get all the water out after washing the rice but if you don't and it bothers you that much measure the water your put in to wash the rice and measure how much water you drain out the rice.

    • @CookingwithWinn
      @CookingwithWinn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mean, if you really want to get all the water out from the rice after washing it, then use a strainer to drain the water but measuring the water to wash the rice and measuring the water after washing the rice seems like a lot of work and it's time consuming. I ain't doing all that but thanks for sharing. It might be helpful to someone else.

      I used frozen garden eggs and peas eggplant but you can use the can one too. U can find them in an African food store or a Hispanic/ Caribbean food store. Just in case you can’t find the peas eggplant, you can always use garden eggs, it does the same work.

    • @CookingwithWinn
      @CookingwithWinn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I am sorry to hear that but no, I didn't use 7 cups of water for 8 cups of rice. I used 5 cups of water for 8 cups of rice. The best way to do it is by adding less water from the start and u can always add more water whenever you need it. So basically, if u gonna use 8 cups of rice, start cooking your rice with 2-3 cups of water and if you need more add it in little by little.

      My fish was fried just the way I like it. It wasn't over cook or under cook. I said 30-45 min but u don't have to wait for the whole 45 minutes before taking your fish out. If your fish looks ready before the 45 min, u can take it out.
