  • In this video I am upgrading my AMP regulator with the new brass piston.
    Im testing the difference between the standard 16 mm plastic piston and the brass piston in both fill time and spread.
    Enjoy

    Always appreciate your videos and great content. In my opinion, an appropriate test for regulators is to shoot them from the max fill pressure till the reg setting pressure and check ES and SD based on the whole string and not only 5,10 or 20 shots...

    Love your videos. Thanks for this one. I could be completely high, but it made me wonder if fill time (or pressure drop after a shot), could somehow be used to set the valve. Of course, maybe the gauge would have to show pressure to a couple of decimal places but….

    Hi Peter , i just installed the gen 3 2nd regulator from huma air . i bought the high pressure version (100/200bar ) I increased the 1st regulator to 180 bar and the 2nd reg to 150bar but if i unscrew the bottle now the whole system degasses ,1st and 2nd reg drop to zero . Normaly the 2nd stays under pressure . Velocity is not consistent . What could be the problem.

    • @VikingAirgunner
      @VikingAirgunner  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Usually the preasure remains in the plenum, so I cant really say. But I would rather have it like you instead of not being able to degass the plenum 🤔

      @@VikingAirgunner HI Peter i solved the problem . I took the reg back out and found a peace of debris between the bellvillewachers , i think it was a peace of o-ring so i changed the o-ring in the block and put it back together. checked for leakes and tested and now i see the spread that you saw in youre video 🙂. Hi. What is the factory piston on the fx impact M3 power block, brass or plastic? I have not opened the regulator.
    I have a 20 fps difference but shooting at 100 meters 3.1 cm.

    • @VikingAirgunner
      @VikingAirgunner  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The new AMP regulators has the brass piston. The big spread can occour on a new regulator - I just had the same thing happening on my new Panthera.
      What you can do is to take out the regulator and lube up the o-rings and springs and perhaps also polish the springs (lightly)
      That helped me and thanks to this my spread has gone down to almost nothing🙂

      I've been wanting to do it for a long time, but I've been hesitant to do it. Now I have no doubts and will do it. And at the same time I will install hummer weight 8,5 grams from Huma-Air. Also was bought a long time ago, but after your video about hammers decided to install.
      I shoot with homemade slugs 30 gr 5,5 mm. Barrel 700 mm.

    Im going to bypass the first reg and put in the M4 AMP regulator. To me it seems that the whole reason for the first regulator was a gimmick. All they really needed to do was just make the 2nd regulator with better materials that could hold up to being charged straight from the 250bar pressure. Im tired of messing with 2 regulators.

    Thanks for the nice video. Can you tell which grip you used and did it fit by default with the bag rider? Also, in the first part of the video (0:20) did you have a different first stage regulator?

    • @VikingAirgunner

      I believe it is an Ergo Tactical Deluxe grip and it works well with the bag rider. It was mounted on my first Impact that I bought used, so I just kept switching it over to my new guns😃

    I like the idea of brass over plastic so I am going to swap it over.
    I found running my first reg higher than the 20-30 fx recommend more like 40-50 difference between the two reg's made my dev come down.

      also polishing the hammer spring as well as the hammer and the other moving parts in the gun will bring the deviation come way down I can get 10 same shots on my dynamic .25 express after polishing those parts, and when they start creeping up do it again.

  • @dg9bfc
    @dg9bfc 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    main thing is accurate.. not how fast the regulator fills but how EXACT it is
    same on the hammer valve...
    How much variation in FPS you see (at best ZERO) and in what settings your groups are the smallest (shooting hole in hole)

  • @WiscAirGunners
    @WiscAirGunners ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice. If you want faster plenum refills you’ll need to delete the first reg.

    Since I put the brass piston in my M3, it will always creep up exactly 5 bar if it sits for a couple of hours or longer. Even if it sits 2 or 3 weeks, exactly 5 bar. One shot and it drops 5 bar and stays there until it is stored again. That 5 bar doesn't really affect my zero, so I'm not concerned at this point.

The method there is to have a max velocity about 20-25 fps above the desired velocity. So in your case 1005-1010 fps. If your max is above this you can turn down the reg and get more shots. If not you are fine 🙂
