Plug the other end of the cable into the inetraface. Just like on my channel movie "ARROWHEAD" (first 10 seconds of the movie ;)). Just be careful with the Volume levels - to be safe, turn down the VOX Amplug first and gradually turn it up to taste. Good luck \m/
I believe the different colors are different frequency boosts but I don't remember. Been a while since I read about them. Surprisingly good sound though. I believe the small cab you can buy for it sounds decent too.

Every now and then, you get more than you pay for. Not everything decent has to carry a premium price tag. This would be great for up and coming guitarists that don't have the cash flow for rack mount effects, plugins and amps. Cool.
@@coffinfeeder7732 I think you're missing the point. I just bought this and its fucking awesome. I can sit in my bedroom away from my music room and DAW setup, and just plug in headphones and play some guitar without a trail of wires everywhere and staring at a screen and twiddling about with a mouse. Plus having the gain right next to your volume control is great, you can dial it back and get some good rock tones aswell. The built in effects are limited and stuck on a crap preset, although you can make it work for you (play a siousie and the banshees riff for example and the chorus is perfect)....its just a great toy! Plus, plug it in your stereo and it actually sounds pretty damn decent!! The only annoying thing is the buzz....
@Mark Seymour actually I just discovered on another video (I don't read manuals! In fact I didn't realise it even came with one...) that if you hold the fx button then press the power button it will switch between three variations of the effect... You get a little beep ( or 2 or 3 ) to let you know which variation you selected.
These are cool if you travel and wanna bring something simple. The Mono reverb kills it for me a little to be honest. I have the AC30 and the Clean versions...super cute little things. And Yes they do work.
Man, this little guy would be amazing for practicing with!!!! Boss, have You met Your match??? Lol. Just kidding, guys! I think all endorsements/ambassadors of Metal gear are just as equally awesome as each other! 😉🤘 I really dig the modulation effect!!!
I love it. Anyone can see that these days there is little need for arguments such as 50 watts vs 100 watts, tube vs solid state, real thing vs modelling amp, amps vs computers.... Now you can take a tiny piece of equipment, plug it in and run it to any set of quality speakers and you can have a great metal tone. It seems there is less and less need for that expensive brand name tube amp.
was considering getting one of these as I am a beginner and want to play through headphones so I don't annoy my family and I must say this video convinced me
These actually aren't too bad, granted you keep the 'ice picky' tone control down, it's decent for headphone practice on the cheap. I have the Classic Rock one, but I was always curious what the others sounded like. 🤘

I bought the older "metal" version about 10-15 years ago, but only because me and a friend were visiting a new town to try some guitars in a specific guitar store, and I didn't want to come home with nothing😂. I definitely don't remember it chugging like this though.
I bought one a couple years ago, but also don't remember it chugging like this. I'm guessing I was using cheap $10 earbuds, with a poorly setup guitar that wouldn't stay in tune, so the volume was immediately too harsh and grating to use it at any decent levels. Just tried it because of this video with $50 headphones and it sounds better.
I have a couple of these with some earbuds in my steinberger gig bag. Awesome little travel practice units for long road trips in the back seat, or hotel rooms late at night.
LOL! You are hilarious! I was looking for reviews of this thing as I was contemplating buying one and even though this is an old review it made me get one. Thank you!
Maybe you can do one episode with the Fender Mustang Micro. Similar device with a lot more options to play with. It would be cool to know your take on it.

Yup, just ordered one! I watched a review on the boutique model and shat myself when the dude played the built in drum beats! Great sound, great effects, drum beats built in... come on!!!
Thanks for the review on this model, vox owes you a commission my man!!!
I have been using the AC version for recording and it has been pretty damn awesome. I put effect pedals before it and then into the recording equipment. No complaints! Saves me a lot of time micing a cab for a demo…
They look so funny plugged directly into the output of a stompbox
The bass one is really good as well
I'm gonna say it. I believe you could make a professional sounding record with this. Incredible! I can't find anything wrong with the sound.
Yeah. You're right. I did so ( all - guitars, and bass )...
Metallica already did hahaha
honestly, I came here to basically say the same thing. I looooove my metal amplug. You can just crank these things in the middle of the night and feel like you're onstage playing an arena🤘🏽
@@noisesfromtheabyss Bro how you connected it to the Interface?
@@alexfox4904 Hi!
Just as usual, connect your guitar to your Amplug and instead of headphones - connect a 3.5mm/6,3mm Jack - Jack cable to the headphones OUT socket (you can use a reduction (6.3mm/3.5mm).
Freaking Ola sold me one of this. Best thing if you just want focus on playing and not tweaking knob and getting sideways.
Купил пару месяцев назад . Это звучит намного лучше чем некоторые транзисторные комбики за 100$
Had the original Metal one for like 10 years now. Definitely need this upgraded one.
It's crazy, but right before Ola uploaded this I ran across this little beast of a device on Amazon. (reviews were good, but glad to see Ola likes it)
I believe the different colors are different frequency boosts but I don't remember. Been a while since I read about them. Surprisingly good sound though. I believe the small cab you can buy for it sounds decent too.
awesome Prong riff at 5:30. love that album!
in the ballpark, I'm not sure exactly how to play it. But yeah love that riff!
Oh man, that album is full of sick riffage!
Yes! Tommy Victor not only crafts masterful metal riffs (like this one from 'another worldly device') but he's one of the coolest people on the planet. He hangs with the crowd after Prong's set, takes pics with folks, etc. Pure awesomeness.
One of my fav Ola vids
♡ the Vox Amplug and their stuf !!!
green, orange, and red (side) are levels of mid scoop -low -mid - high with 3 effects (top) -chorus -delay -reverb
I have one of these. Bought it as a means of practicing in the house without disturbing my family. It's pretty cool.
Wtf? This tone sounds incredible.
It us, but it gets old, because its kinda all it does
@@springbloom5940 I don't know about this model. The classic rock can do all kinds of tone. From dreamy ambiance cleans, to Hendrix/Zepp old school rock to high gain drop D tones. it's quite entertaining.
Yes it chugs. I own one and it blew my ears out . Love this little thing
I tried the VOX METAL from my friend back in 2009 I think it's the old version and it chugs and sounds great! After I saw this video of yours I think I gonna buy this AMPLUG METAL.
I have one of those. I had it for a month before I found out it has Three different modes. Its good in a pinch where space is limited. GG for not reading the instructions.
This lil thing was my first amp and i still have it in case of traveling with my guitar. Great video man!
I have one of these too, I love it! Sometimes I bring it to guitar stores with headphones, good way to check out guitars.
I actually have one of those that I take on the road with me for jobs and use it to practice with in hotel rooms. Super easy and heavy with the three modes. My only wish is that VOX would make a tube amp that could give me the tones the little amplug does.
I saw a comment saying it was a mini version of the Vox Dual rectifier. Idk if that’s true, but hey, it could be
@@haydeanbeatz1449 there's no such thing as a Vox Dual Rectifier, box modeling amps have a model called Tweedplate that is modeled after the Dual rec, that is essentially what the amplug metal is, a single model mini amp
My parents got me one of these guys when I first started learning way back in the day. First time I played along with Smells Like Teen Spirit blew my mind. This vid brought back all the memories 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Every now and then, you get more than you pay for. Not everything decent has to carry a premium price tag. This would be great for up and coming guitarists that don't have the cash flow for rack mount effects, plugins and amps. Cool.
Well to be fair, if you already have or can get an audio interface, some free vsts or the cheaper plugins from Neural will smoke this thing.
Cheaper neural plugins still costs same amount as 5 of these.
@@coffinfeeder7732 Neural DSP plugins cost 150$ to 200$ dollars lmao, this thing costs less than 60
This has got to be one of if not the best one ive seen yet
The other thing that's great is that it's made in Japan and not China. Surprising quality in such a cheap piece of gear.
Ola's amazement from the tone makes the video.
I bought the AC30 one of these when I was starting out. It’s a great little practice tool.
These are cool if you travel and wanna bring something simple. The Mono reverb kills it for me a little to be honest. I have the AC30 and the Clean versions...super cute little things. And Yes they do work.
I’m blown away by that
Man, this little guy would be amazing for practicing with!!!! Boss, have You met Your match??? Lol.
Just kidding, guys! I think all endorsements/ambassadors of Metal gear are just as equally awesome as each other! 😉🤘
I really dig the modulation effect!!!
It chugged like hell imo. I'd wanna see someone do a show with just this patched into the mains.
*Has epiphany*
I got the AC30 one and its the best purchase decision I have ever made.
This would be great for new guitarists who don't want to spend on an amp.
was considering getting one of these as I am a beginner and want to play through headphones so I don't annoy my family and I must say this video convinced me
These actually aren't too bad, granted you keep the 'ice picky' tone control down, it's decent for headphone practice on the cheap. I have the Classic Rock one, but I was always curious what the others sounded like. 🤘
Mine broke not long ago they are so fragile thats my only complaint
I've ordered all of them at once to pick the one I like the best. I kept the classic rock.
@@mrksdlx what made you wanna keep that one instead of the metal amp plug?
@@OmakYaHabibi They're all pretty good for the price. It all comes down to personal preference. I thought the classic rock one was the best sounding one. Really nice crunch tones.
I totally agree. Since you'll only be using one of these when you're playing by yourself, they sound better when they're scooped.
Your expression on the first note made my day
Can you record your next album with that thing?
I buying this today! 100%
Ola you could try that Vox MV50 Rock or High Gain versions, amazing little NuTube amps :3
Go vox .I'm very impressed ❤💯
these things are cool. years ago i had the three different ones and i wired them up on a board with a single selector, jack, and battery. so i could plug into the jack and switch between them easily for recording. i was always impressed by how they sounded for the price
These videos are a scream. Just ordered one of these. Picked up a MXR Fullbore Metal 2 weeks ago. Keep em’ coming.
I loved mine, but I gave it to my dad because he needed a way to practice without disturbing his cat
LOL! You are hilarious! I was looking for reviews of this thing as I was contemplating buying one and even though this is an old review it made me get one. Thank you!
Maybe you can do one episode with the Fender Mustang Micro. Similar device with a lot more options to play with. It would be cool to know your take on it.
If he does it I hope he will also do the NUX mighty Plug
I have just bought it and the sound on headphines blew me away, this is the best thing to play on headphones ever :)
You can check my review on my youtube channel :)
Was it the only "chug out of the box" device? I have a similar VOX plug but with kinda AC-15/30 tone and it's great for late night practice/composing sessions so my expectations of Vox Metal were high as well :) Well VOX and Marshall it's where it all started back in the days so they have to keep up to our expectations, right? :)
