  • Reviewing ZTE's Nubia Z60 Ultra, a premium smartphone taking on Samsung's S24 Plus and Ultra at a more friendly price. Here's my verdict on the camera setup, gaming chops and the Nubia Z60 Ultra's everyday experience.
    So, 2024 has been a busy year for phones with dozens already hitting the UK. I've had loads of requests to test the Nubia Z60 Ultra, which landed just before the Xiaomi 14, Magic 6 Pro and other big rivals. Well, good news! I've had my SIM in this ZTE smartphone for a week, using it as my full time smartphone.
    The triple lens camera is quietly dependable in day or night, although the app is a bit clunky and you'll want to fiddle with the settings. The Nubia Z60 Ultra should suit most everyday snappers and features plenty of modes and bonus features for more advanced photographers.
    Gamers will love the smooth performance on demanding titles like Genshin Impact and that extensive gaming mode. However, I have seen a more stable frame rate on other Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phones like the Red Magic. As for battery life, the Nubia Z60 Ultra doesn't disappoint, delivering two days of play between charges.
    So that's the Nubia Z60 Ultra - are you tempted by this more affordable flagship option?

      @saturnblue 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@FaisalKhan-fm1oy for me the z60 Ultra/z50 ultra had the perfect combination of features. It did not have a curved screen which are fragile when you drop them and they land on an edge. It doesn't have a selfie camera that I never use spoiling the screen. It is available with 24 gig and 1 terabyte so it won't become obsolete and laggy anytime soon. Add to that a good set of rear cameras that can hold their own against other flagships and I am a happy camper.
      Last year the Z50 ultra didn't have any of the Bands necessary for Australia but this year the z60 does so I have ordered one.
      I guess it all depends on what you want in a phone. I did want more than 3 years of updates until I realised my current phone which is 7 years old only had 3 years and it's still working fine, so long as you don't count the huge lag from having only 4 gig of ram.

    I'm looking to keep my Android phone for the next 5 years. Should i buy the Nubia Z60 Ultra or Nubia Red Magic 9 Pro??? I primarily use multiple apps at ones and a few games and usual photos but, nothing serious.

      @ricedbroccoli หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'd say the Nubia phone. They have the same chip set, but the Red magic is a gaming phone, so it cuts corners in a lot of more normal specs to make room in the budget for fancy gaming shit like buttons

    I'm using z50 ultra, this must be the most amazing look I ever had. And the camera is in quite good quality, the MyOS is not bad, and the game mode is pretty much the best

    Does it have something like Samsung Bixby routines? I'm really looking for a new phone but I'm addicted to the simplicity of adding routines.

      You can use Macrodroid Pro to do everything on non Samsung phones that Routines+ does on Galaxy phones.

    As interesting as the Z60 Ultra is a fairly big issue is software support it would seem.
    Personally i think 6-7 years of Software support is more marketing than actually useful as most people keep their phones for 4 years tops and hardware will make quite big performance advancements in that time. But for at least 4 years i'd like software support to be a non-issue.
    But 2 years for 700 bucks and above is just too little with 4-5 years i'd say being a perfectly fine middle ground.
    But how long does Nubia support their devices? 2-3 years is what i found on their site and that's just not good enough for the asking price and given the total package of the phone...
    Pay less and get a Nothing Phone (2) which offers 3-4 years of updates and decent enough cams and display and solid software. But not quite as beefy of an SoC.
    Pay more and go for a OnePlus 12, which has an equal or better camera setup, a better display (punchhole aside) and 4-5 years of updates. Or pay equal and import said OnePlus 12 from China.
    Subjective preferences such as design aside:
    Where does this phone sit when the options slightly below it and above it exist and make more sense as more "complete" devices at their given price points?
    Don't really see a valid point for anyone to go for this phone or am i missing something?
