Thes films are just fantastic. But I can’t help but think this is just a cruel, hellish simulation, where these two guys are stuck in a room, and endlessly have to introduce these videos as they spiral deeper and deeper away from purgatory. A true psychological terror where there is simply no end - just an infinite möbius strip of soulless introductions that deteriorate slowly with every single recording...

Miles, you seem like a nice guy, but I'm afraid our beloved Andy Johnson's pessimism about the mundane public golf scene has crept too far into those lushes locks. I'd highly suggest roasting a scrumptious cup of Bixby coffee in the near future and making your way to Rustic Canyon, a unique and fun track, in the hopes of finding the joy that's clearly lost. Afterward, we could set up a podcast on the Erik Anders Lang network with both Dave and Mike to hash out the differences. Best wishes in your, or I mean, Tom's 2020 Presidential campaign.

Shot at 3:31 was a ridiculously good mid-iron from juicy Oakmont US Open rough

I was there on Sunday. Saw Roberts miss his par putt on the 18th. It was so hot that day that old people were passing out all over the course and needing medical assistance. Hard to believe it was almost 27 years ago. I would see The Big Easy win again at Congressional in '97.

Interesting to see the equipment sponsors of 1994. RAM, Powerbilt, Lynx, etc.

Scorching temperature was a definitely a factor in 1994. Unusual heat waves almost made Colin Montgomery look like a melting cheese on hot fry pan.

What’s with the announcer sound at 34:34? Are they on a PA system? Bizarre.

Love these trips down memory lane. Any chance of uploading Tom Kite's victory in 92?

36:40 I sure agree with Nicklaus that divots in the fairway should be ground under repair. It makes no sense to be penalized after driving in the fairway.

What's up with the echo audio? It's especially noticeable when they're close to the mic.

Did Musberger really suggest that a 40-foot putt for Loren Roberts (The Boss Of The Moss) would be better handled by Larry Bleeping Nelson?

I love women, they cry at television commercials. That was sweet at the end when she sobbed a bit.

People finally got to see the finish, they didn't in 1994 because of the OJ coverage

    • @TheLocalLt
      @TheLocalLt 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The OJ chase actually took place during the Friday round and I believe some of Saturday’s round aired on ESPN. Similar to the JFK Jr plane crash that moved the 3rd round of the 1999 British Open to ESPN

Oakmont looks so different with all those trees. It looks fantastic now with the trees removed.

They took out a few without telling members and they didn't notice. Took out some more before showing them old original course photos. They agreed and the course was restored to original. Looks fantastic. www.usga.org/content/usga/home-page/articles/2016/06/oakmont-restored.html

bill enright Oakmont took this to the extreme, but I think many other courses could benefit from tree removal. Eventually you just have to thin it out so turf quality is not impacted.

Roberts' horrible putt on 18 on Sunday doesn't get mentioned in the all time choke discussions but it should be.

What about Els choking on the tee shots on 17 and 18 only to be bailout by USGA president Trey Holland on 17 where Els gets to move his ball out of the trees and 15 yards closer to the hole because a movable crane was in the way, despite previous players having to play their ball where it lied and they moved the crane out of the way. Trey Holland the USGA president made a huge blunder when he let Els drop the ball in the drop zone when no other player was given that opportunity whose ball was in the same area. Els probably would of lost the US Open if not for the idiot Trey Holland.
