    Murray 405011x92A - 12.5Hp Briggs & Stratton engine (219707-0300E1).
According to previous owner, the mower runs, however he recalled that the engine would not stop when the key was turned, and that it was getting "harder and harder" to get it started. This mower has not ran for at least 3-4 years.
Luckily, today's fix was fairly simple.

I've got the same mower and I cannot find a red battery cable for the mower and I cannot get the blades for it do you have any suggestions on where I could get the parts for my mower?

I wish mine was that easy.
EXACT SAME MOWER. It was running fine then it ran out of gas and never cranked up again, so I jumped the solenoid and it would try to start but it wouldn't. Eventually it just went completely dead no clicking no nothing. Has a new solenoid, a new battery, and I Ohmed out all of the safety switches. I can't be 100% sure but I don't think I'm not getting juice to the starter. Which is strange because it was working before it ran out of gas. The fuse is good, I am at my wit's end because it keeps raining and my grass is about 2 and 1/2 ft high. Hate to keep throwing parts at it as the new ignition switch is about $45 shipped. The ground came loose somewhere I have no idea where it would be. Do you have any advice, it would be appreciated

If you happen to have the manual for the mower, as well as for the motor, you should have the wiring diagram for the safety circuit. If you don't have them - let me know, and maybe I can scan them and make available. (I'll have to find my manuals, though).

I'll also say - a similar experience happened to me after I loaned the mower to a friend. New battery, new starter, and it acts like the motor is seized... But it's not. I wonder if there's a compression relief lobe that is worn out in the cam...

@@HarmonyHollowApiary okay well I got it to fire up finally today after throwing parts at it all week, I got half of the yard cut, then the motor started straining white smoke started coming out so I turned it off real quick. When I try to hand rotate the engine I can only go about 1/8 of a turn and it stops on something inside. I'm guessing it is the decompression piece has broken off now I need to back up in the bottom and get a camshaft kit. I just wish I could find a used motor but I can't.

@@dwood2342 maybe one from Harbor Freight? I replaced my old B&S with a HF engine on my tiller years ago. Haven't got around to messing with the riding mower to see which one may be a good swap.

Hey I have same machine, turned it off and now won't turn over at all. Battery is good, cables good to both the battery and the starter, where are the safety switches I heard they may be problem. Thanks, Roost

There is a seat safety switch, a brake switch (or possibly clutch if I remember right). I'd have to look up the manual to find if there were others... it's been a while. Good luck! Post here if you figure it out.

@@HarmonyHollowApiary one under seat,,,one either by brake clutch pedal and one by blade engagement handle---take off solenoid access panel and look to the right and u will see this one-mine was held in place by a zip tie which broke and let the switch spin out of position,,was a real pain to find.

I don't know if you can help me. When I engage the blades the belt loosens and won't cut. Any information will be helpful. 425002X99A

You're likely going to need to double check the routing of the engagement/power belt to make sure it's on the correct side of all the pulleys.
