- My review of Rhino Ramps by flo tools and how to use car ramps. Gives you an extra 8" clearance from the ground. I think these ramps are very useful and had no problems with implementing them.

@@hohohee1 No... depending on the make and model of your vehicle. There may be a place to put Jack stands below one of the structural frame near the ramps...

I have a set of rhino ramps that I've used for 20 years. They do last and are sturdy enough . I've used them for a Dodge Ram and Chevy Avalanche. I do my own oil changes and have used them every oil change for 20 years .
Is it possible the the car might sit too low for it to properly drive up on the ramps? I am on the wait list for the new M2 and was hoping to install a front splitter but I think the ramp may be too tall and prevent the car from rolling up.
Thank you after watching this video, I was able to buy Rhino Ramps and was able to change oil on my 2013 Toyota highlander and 2017 Camry both with no issue. I said bye bye to people to places trying to charge me almost $100 for fully synthetic oil changes. Got Mobile fully synthetic oil and OEM oil filter for less than $35 5 quarts imagine that?. These Rhino Ramps totally worth the money and they are well built. I use Jack stands as well for safety as well.

I’m from the future. Took my Chevy Trax for a full synthetic, and they wanted to charge me $200. Bought filter and oil for $30. Ridiculous.
These ramps are perfect. I recommend them highly especially for small and medium sized cars. The extended runoff area at the top of the ramp helps prevent you from dropping off the end of the ramps. They give you plenty of room to remove your oil filter and change your oil especially for low to the ground vehicles. I was totally surprised at how much room I had to work. I purchased the higher weight capacity just to give me an extra measure of safety.
Would these work on riding tractors?
They are rated based on the weight of your vehicle. If your tractor weighs the same or less than the rated weight you will be good. Just be sure to chalk your wheels and lock your handbrake.

Paul Reed.. I try to tell everybody I see do that wrong to do it the right way! should be e brake first to leave it from having strain or pull on the parking gear/cable/pin whatever it is

@@ianmattl the strain, he said, on the parking brake.
@@ianmattl - when you put the automatic transmission in "park" , the parking pawl ( just a pin in the transmission ) is engaged to keep the vehicle from moving. You can feel it engaged if the vehicle is not levelled. Also, the manual "parking brake" must be forcefully pulled/pushed to stop the vehicle from rolling.
The best thing to do and not to stress the transmission is once the car is up on the ramps, put the car in neutral and slowly release the brake pedal. if everything is good then the car will stay on the ramps in neutral. only then you can apply the hand brake and park. By the way, this man almost got off the ramps. He doesn't have the feel for it.
Thanks for video! I decided to invest in these and with just one fix on the car I am so happy how simple, fast, and easy these made it. I still throw Jack stands under though. A cheap creeper too makes car repair nice on the back and knees.
Excellent video. Thank you. One suggestion I have for you - use small mirror to see where on the ramp you are. It will make it a lot safer and prevent you from overshooting. I saw your attempt where you got bit too far ant the ramp started to tilt. Stay safe.
possibly just a jumpy car. I will have concerns about the individual's vehicle control if a mirror helped her/him LOL. Over shooting is not an issue health or damage wise. An improperly setup stand is much more dangerous .

I've used them from a neighbor before twice they work good. I drive a lower sports car so I gotta put some 2x4 blocks between the tires and ramps to get that little boost. But I just ordered my own. About time.

a lot of people complain that they Crack after a few uses so always be careful and use some jack stands for extra safety
Agree, just get a couple of jack stands at Walmart and get 0% chance of failing
Mine cracked after one use. They're junk, IMHO.

@@guachito33 - I wouldn't say ZERO percent. There is a reason people prefer ramps over stands. I agree both is best, but everything can fail.
Mine slid at first but that's cause I had it on a super smooth garage surface. Once I moved to the outside driveway where the pavement was rough those ramps didn't budge. Great product IMO.
You can wedge the ramps under the tires (kick them in hard) and they wont slip

This was a video on how to use the ramps. There was no reason for me to get under the car and get dirty. I have other videos where I'm using the ramps like this one th-cam.com/video/cY-by1T1UzI/w-d-xo.html These are good for oil changes. Quick and easy way to get a little more head room for working under the car. Not good if your doing breaks or anything on the wheel.

I was watching cris fix the automotive mechanic TH-camr he was mentioning something really important for safety that after getting your car on the ramps you should shake the car a little bit from the sides to make sure they’re steady and has a firm grip 👍🏼, other than that you did a great job 👍🏼

I filled the gaps of mine with great stuff foam from Homedepot, the ramps are no longer stackable but they are more solid and crack resistant.

@@VitiatedsHOWTO the gaps are there for make them stackable one inside each other, if you fill the top gaps with epoxy resin the ramps probably last you for life.

I recently cracked one of the 12,000 lb set ramps that I had for over five years because I accelerated too forcefully up the ramp. I just bought another set.
When placing the ramps into position, I center them on the front tires with the wheels straight then wedge them into place so they can't slide. Also, the tires and ramps should be dry or the ramps will slide.

Took me a couple of tries in my garage. With my garage smoother floor is was a bit harder, however the ramps work great
Great... You can always put a little weight like bricks in front of it or a rubber mat to prevent slippage. However I found that it works fine wedging the end to the tires.

Most of the time when the ramp slide is when the rubber piece is missing under the ramp. I lost mine so I had to cut out rubber piece from a gym mat to replace it.

These are SOOOO sketchy! I actually sucked BOTH of them under my GMC Acadia. I'm going to try AWD next time and see if that helps at all. Thanks for the video!
...FYI caution...have used these branded ramps for years...but just replaced my old chipped ones with these newer ones...seriously concerned now about these new built-in deep crack spaces designed where material has been deliberately removed in a very deep V...and in one posted video the front portion completely separated from the center...ouch...will be much more cautious now, and am checking into whether they have actually made any efforts to re-design out these very scary looking built-in deep V cuts...

You only use the stands if you don't want to die in the event of a ramp failure.
"Hopefully it will hold up..." Hahaha. That's a scary question to have in your mind while you're under a car.
If you put jackstands under the car who cares ? You won't get hurt.
If you're putting jack stands as well, then probably a floor jack is easier than ramps
How long are these good for before the plastic gets too old and you can't trust it holding the weight?

I've had these ramps for 4 years now, and they recently cracked. Not sure why it cracked but looking to get another set soon.

They need to have a slope on both sides of the ramp, so there’s no chance of jumping off the edge and damaging the car.
Oh the front is a stop so you don't slide over the edge, but if you are not careful.. you might still roll over them... Just go slow and easy your first time... After awhile you'll get used to it...
will these slide if placed on top of a rug instead of concrete floor?

I bought a pair about maybe 8 years ago or close to 8 years same ones and I was lifting a 2014 Kia front wheel drive and it’s spun the ramps inward towards the frame( on a concrete driveway)I had to jack the car up pull the ramp out and release the Jack…this is my second pair what can I do to not have this happen again besides the basics of just going a little bit slower thinking about running a chain or cable through those two holes in the back

Most ramps will slide, it's not from misuse. That rubber pad just isn't enough to prevent sliding for most vehicles. I had some non-slip shelf liner I threw under mine. I've stuck folded bath towels under them too to prevent sliding.
I think if you wedge the ramp into your tire it shouldn't slide unless you're on a polished floor. Most of the time people don't wedge the ramps onto the tires. Instead they roll onto the ramps which may cause you to push the ramps with fast acceleration.
ProjectJames I always jam em under the tire first. I wouldn't trust my Rhino ramps with anything bigger than my Focus, or a Civic. No way I'm putting my 5-6,000 lb Envoy up on plastic.
On front wheel drive cars they don’t slide as much

Something like 100 lb per ramp probably. Would be better to go with wood at that point.

Wish they were higher off the ground. I got a honda civic and is still not enough clearance for me. Barely make it under the oil pan

Have you tried it on all tires at once? Coz i wanna load a car through rahino ramp onto a car dolly (tyre skate type) will it skid on 4 tyres at once plz try it and do a video
Ramps are meant to be used as a set of two. You wouldn't be able to put the ramp in between the front and rear tires unless you have a truck or suv which the tires would give clearance to the ramps. However, I've seen people get it up on four tires by jacking up the car and placing the ramps below the tires.
Do you think it would be possible for one to push a mid size sedan on to these if the car isn't working?

TRY RUBBER FLOOR MATS UNDER RAMPS THEY SHOULD NOT SLIDE
sliding is not an issue if the ramps are wedged under the tires before the climb. Low bumper and /or hard summer tire may push the ramps though.

I was about to buy one but I’m not sure about the weight for my car sedan Hyundai four door the weigh is 3,924 lbs compare to tones
This version of ramps has a Gross Vehicle Weight capacity of 16,000 lbs. So each ramp should be able to withstand 4,000 lbs. Also, note that the total weight of your vehicle will not be on the ramps. Be advised the ramps may break if there are defects in the plastic. Many have used them without incident. If you hear any premature cracks and creaking in them do not use.

@@brethart4938 The GVW is rated for 16,000 lbs. Meaning each ramp is rated for 4,000 lbs. You will never have the total weight of the vehicle on one ramp. Two wheels on the ground. Two wheels on the ramps. So the weight of the vehicle will be divided between the ramps and the ground. Most cars do not weigh over 4,000 lbs. If you're insecure about using them. It may be best to just use a jack stands.
Can you use grey bricks under your rear wheels instead of red?
yes. Bricks are also colorblind friendly.

That does make a huge the difference. I just bought a pair of ramps and had to take them back because my truck being a RWD would not go up before they just slid right out from under. What I ended up doing temporarily was to raise the truck with a jack and place the ramps directly underneath. Fortunately, I have a jack that would lift it high enough, but I doubt that that would work with a jack that has less than a 2 ft. lift, or if the vehicle has a lift kit on it.
I work in a body shop and i have had the same problem with rear wheel drives.... They basically just slide the ramps under the vehicle no matter how slow or careful you take it.
Metal ones better? Or just use jack and stands?

You forgot to mention they slide out from under the front wheels and less you have front-wheel-drive to pull them under the car. ... They slide out on rear wheel drive.

Best not to do it in a steep slope. Also chock your tires.

No, no I do not. If you feel uncomfortable don't use the ramps. Use something else like jacks stands. Also, don't use if you see cracking or any defects in the plastic.
Wow, seriously, be careful with those things. I have an original set (the ones that weren't stackable) and bought a new one like the ones you have here when I needed a second set, and on my first use I pulled my Taurus up on them to change the oil and right before I was going to get under it I heard a CRUNCH! and the driver's side one crumbled and one of those blocks separated by the seams in the surface just crumbled and ripped off dropping the car and the rest of the ramp bent up the fender. I'm REALLY lucky I wasn't under the car at the time. I have pictures of it.
The originals are nothing like that. I've had a roll back tow truck with my car on it on them (helping get the angle right to drop the car from my sloped driveway right into the garage) with no signs of problems, I trust them, the new ones are junk, and there are a bunch of similar stories about them and how the company has been bought out and there is no one to reach to complain about the new ones.
Mark Pikas please tell me where i can see these pictures. I dont know how these items are flying off the shelf and you say they're cracking. I think there would have been a major recall if that started happening right? Please let me know

absolutely do not get under a car with ramps without placing jackstands underneath as well. Amazon reviews show these ramps can crack in half.

not sure about a prius... the ramps have clearance for most cars... unless its a low profile car
does anyone know what the minimum height from the ground to the bottom of your front bumper should be to ensure you can get up the ramps?
Arts&Trusts I guess the height of the ramp... which is 8.5 inches. If your front bumper (or rather the arch in front of the wheels) is higher than this then you're ok.

I always take a good running start to easily drive up ramps. Place ramps down, then back the car up at least 3 car lenghts, gun it. As easy as that. Please feel free to use this tip. I have not submitted any Patten or Trade Mark applications yet...so it's available to free use for now.
That's what I do as well. Except I keep going and drive it into the garage. Of course I open the garage door first, duh.

Riiaq Creations of your car is lowered you can probably only drive up the rear axle. The front will have no clearance unless you extend it with some wood pieces.
