I think the red box highlight is incorrect on the "By the third or fourth setback, I usually feel like giving up" vs "I do not tend to give up a problem quickly". You mention how the right side is better but the red box highlights the "Most like me" option on the side of "By the third or fourth setback, I usually feel like giving up".
Yes so what I say is the right answer for that question ignore the marker
@@bahroz Makes sense, just wanted to make sure and point it out - thanks!
I was also confused for the same reason. Thanks for the clarification 🙃
What's the correct one?
thanks, even i was confused with this one
for 18:14 I choose people value strong work ethic.
"usually" is loosely synonymous with "average", and I'm not on average trying to be productive, I'm ALWAYS trying to be productive (and reality that equates to sometimes you fall a bit short). Productivity is binary, you're either productive or you're not, an obviously you always try to be productive. The key words here are "usually", hinting at average (high standards), and "best as I can"
The right answer here is work ethic. There is never a time, ever, where you don't want a strong work ethic. I highly doubt anyone is ever going to think , "gee, I wish this person's work ethic was a little bit weaker." Conversely, when faced with trying to be productive or unproductive, you don't usually try and be productive, you always try.
Also, for 19:38, you seemed to trade deep diving for deadline finishing, whereas previously you made a decision where you favored against "meeting deadlines is nice, but now always an option", which is a bit questionable... as far as I'm aware, you typically don't want to trade deadlines at amazon unless it's critical for client experiences.... so there's a bit of a discrepancy there. I think in both instances, delivery is most important, aka "disagree and commit", and only in situations where delivery tradeoffs should be made is when customer obsession is in jeopardy
But this is a very good video, I don't think i've questioned my own values as much as I have with any other video, and this is a great way for someone to see if the amazon culture is right for them... thanks for this!
also 16:40 I would choose I take time each month to learn something new over somedays as it shows a continuous, consistent and proactive approach to 'Learn and be curious'
For the most part learning takes place on the job,. so you don't have to be learning when you take out time you could be learning on daily basis.
11:15 You said the one on the right but the visual circle was on the left.
Thank you Bahroz :)
Yes thanks that one was an editing mistake… go with what I said
for 19:30, can't you argue to pick the one on the left based on "Bias for Action
Speed matters in business. Many decisions and actions are reversible and do not need extensive study. We value calculated risk taking"
I agree picking left to align more with Bias For Action
Thank you Behroz, I passed my assessment I believe because I watched your video before attempting . Thank you and God bless you for your kindness.
Glad to know you found the content useful…
Hi,
was for sde role?
@ yes could sales representative
15:20 for i hardly ever fail to achieve goals vs some would say i am reliable, my pick would be most like me on the left, based on the 'deliver results' principle. as you said sometimes these two statements are not related which is why I dont see picking the left would indicate i achieve goals even if people dont find me reliable, if that makes sense. Although one can argue 'some would say I am reliable' is aligned with the 'Earn trust' principle.
I also picked the left side of the ledger. The key term is focused on was “some” would say I’m reliable. Wouldn’t a better outcome be to have “most” would say I’m reliable? When compared to I “hardly ever fail” to achieve my goals, it implies a higher lever of relatability since most goals should be tied teamwork.
Hi, thank you for your detailed explanation. I was wondering were not you confused in the question where you needed to choose between: "By the third or fourth setback, I usually feel like giving up" and I do not tend to give up a problem quickly"? I think you wanted to choose the second one, but you have chosen the first one and "Most Like Me" as an option in the video.
Yes you are correct the marker is on the wrong spot (left) - while it should be on the right... thanks for picking that up...
@@bahroz I think he is confused because you stated that the right side is better, but in the video you marked the left side for that question
@@qwertmom - yes now i get the question.. yes the marker should have been on the right.
Thanks this is very helpful. However I feel differently about the question that has "I would rather learn just enough to get by than spend a lot of time" on the left side. At 8.40 you select the other option to the right that says "sometimes I ask questions in order to understand concepts better" and say this question is linked to "Learn and be curious" principle but I beg to differ. I think it's linked to "Bias for Action" that talks about speed matters in biz, most decisions are reversible and do not require extensive study but calculated risk taking. Do you agree?
@@linagokarn9828 I disagree… and based on a large number of candidates that I have coached I can easily stand by my rationale and selection
@@bahroz Sure makes sense. Also there's a 60-80 min test called "Working at Amazon" is that the same as "Work Stimulation Assessment"? Is this the one that requires audio responses to be provided for some portions?
I believe your response at 12:01 is incorrect and you may be getting confused by the negation in the statement to the right. The statement on the right side means that you do not give up quickly which, I believe, has to be better than giving up after x amount of setbacks.
That’s an editing mistake.. I do say select the one on the right while the mark shows up on the left.. so go with what I said not what it shows…
Thanks
Great Job!
You explained the questions and answer in a very simple and easy manner.
That would be quite helpful for us...If you like it or not,
My FEEDBACK:
1. Try to add overlays like picture or videos of something you talking about in a video it make your video more interesting.
2. To increase the engagement, Try to reduce the length of the video. It should be fast pace, no pause & repetition.
3. You can make Thumbnail of your videos much more Intimidating.
Thanks a great inputs… will definitely consider as I continue to improve the quality of the content… thanks
The last question sometimes i see the wisdom in criticism offered to my work is applying 'earn trust' and 'have backbone' I believe...
15:39 i would pick "i hardly ever fail to achieve goals" over "some would say i am reliable" since it still fits amazon leadership principles. i would pick reliable one only if it didnt say *some* and said *most*
Yes agree - its just that you pick doesn't allow for any room to make mistake and learn.
Your statement of how you would pick the "more like me" options contradicts very directly with your second video (Part 2), in which you clearly state that you would pick 'most like me' if both sides are positive, and 'more like me' if both sides are negative. While I completely agree with your comment on sticking to the 'more' option on both negative side options, would you not agree that we should determine stance based on the statement, rather than having a general rule for the positive ones?
What I talk or share is a rule of thumb… to be used only when you are not 100% sure on the answer… if you are 100% certain go for it before applying any rule of thumb… hope that makes sense
Hi bahroz,
Just like you're video on work style, did you make a video on JOB SIMULATION also, since there are 2 parts of the online assessment. The link i have received from them has 2 parts. Looking forward to your response. And, oh yes, are these tests TIMED.
Regards.
Yes I am working on collecting some content on that test… if you can share a recording or snips of your test I can use that… it’s on my list
@@bahroz well, I have not yet opened the link, since you get 1 month to submit, I thought better to prepare before starting, but they sent me a supporting email with details of the test content, it says 25 minutes for job simulation & 15 minutes for work assessment. Your video on assessment with screenshot was great, but couldn't find anything on simulation on the net. Still looking. By the way, that pakistani girl you interviewed, she was utter useless, seemed very reluctant to share any kind of details. But then again, we pakistanis have always been like this, selfish. Anyhow, there is this British woman called, GG, a former amazonian who has literally spilled the beans on every detail of getting into amazon, she has a YT channel and has given info on literally everything. Have been watching her videos. I realised that hundreds & thousands of unemployed software engineers & supply chain people from pakistan can apply and get in amazon, but nobody from pakistan seems to know about this. They pay for your relocation and visa, its on their website. You just have to prepare for the interviews which are based on leadership principles. Now I realised how all the top positions at Amazon Luxembourg have been occupied by Indians, they give referrals to their fellow countrymen and get interviews. They have literally taken over all the FAANG companies. Sorry for the long post. 😅 Take care.!
@@bahroz Hi Bahroz, thanks for this video! I just saw this video with the job simulation questions: th-cam.com/video/SyLfBXtJ04w/w-d-xo.html
The assessment is hardlined on their leadership's attributes. Being this is a non-union shop, I can see that. "My way, no highway option", which I like and thrive in. However, living in a union shop for decades, it really was about people and how to inspire and motivate them to get the best out of them and therefore promotes the company. But that workforce has that all about me mentality. Having said all of that, attempting to pass the assessment is very challenging.
Hey Bahroz! Just a friendly feedback here. While you are giving "right" answers, the leadership principle that you assume behind the question is often wrong. For example: Are right a lot.
Nope they are not cause I have vetted them from folks inside Amazon.. thanks
hello Bahroz, for 19:38, isn't dive deep requried overlook details? but here's "not" overlook, i'm confused.
It’s the best option for each question
Awesome
Is this exactly the format of the workstyle preference assessment or are there other styles of questions? I have a 15 min workstyle preference portion for sde intern oa
Yes this is… exactly the same format and some questions may even repeat…
Hi @qwertmom , How did your online assessment go? Were you able to advance to the interview stage, and have you received any feedback yet?
@@rohithreddy5201 Yes I passed the interview and got waitlisted. Got a rejection letter a couple weeks ago since they finished hiring for the summer. They don't give feedback.
Hey, I have sde intern oa this week. Can you help me understand how your test experience was both coding and workstyle assessment
@@benjaminfranklin9270 Hey, how did it go
There are 16 leadership principles now. They added 2 new ones a few years ago.
Yup they upped it to 16, but the 2 that were added are not applied to interviews or assessments very often..
3:11 - where is a website for practicing. .? I check the description as well i am confused 😕

how can the option "I am not bothered by new situations or experiences" will be a best option?
Yes so you should not be bothered if there is a new experience or situation … “bothered” here being a negative word
@@bahroz i have to disagree. the rationale on choosing the best choice is one that shows closest alignment with the principles not putting over emphasis on the words. while i am not bothered shows a positive attitude towards new experiences, but does not explicitly show the proactive adaptation to new demands. The first statement reflects bias for action in a more action-oriented way.
any idea of what is the next step after part1 and part2 of the QA?
Shortlisting for interview…
How long will it takes to get reply from recruiter @@bahroz
I failed here to try again I don’t remember Amazon doing this last year the job market is so messed uk that Amazon is simply trying to use this as a way to not hire too many people
If so then why would they advertise the opening to begin with ..
There is no right or wrong answer here … even after aligning you may find that it’s confusing ..
I would rather focus on what I am vs what should we select as option !
Yes there is no right or wrong but there is certainly a cultural fit or not a cultural fit…
Can I expect regret mail after attending this assessment? Because first time I attended and I got congratulations mail on attending assessment.......what I should consider fail or pass
Thanks for your query.. Wait for them to confirm the final result…
Hey, did you get any mail from them yet?
Not yet
Same with me
I attended assessment last Tuesday till now no feedback
