    The original cut of this one was over 30mins long, so this was a tough one to edit. Let me know if you like the new tighter editing style. Or maybe you would have preferred I left it much longer?
    Also as always I'd love to know what you guys did at Taffington? Is this one you usually build up? Do you have trouble here? Or is it one you enjoy building at?

    I hope you will see this. As already mentioned, you can physically, remove the body. In all of my playthroughs I carry it up to Wildwood Cemetary after clearing out the ferals and the lone raider. I put it in the open coffin and leave her there. I've never had her respawn back at Taffington. Just remember to walk back to Taffington, don't fast travel. I've done this with at other settlements and it works well if I walk back and not fast travel or use a vertibird. I like your builds, well done!

Differently re-colored barn textures or extra types of wood panels for variety (while still being lore sensible) from USO, and Gone Hunting / Fishing I just can't do without.

    Very good build, well done.
    For those annoying spawn points inside settlements I like to sink a few shotgun turrets into the ground so just the gun parts are showing (using the pillar technique), then using the wire glitch I run wires to them underground. I put these turrets in out-of-the-way spots where they won't intrude too much on the look of the build but will still be able to blast away at any attackers the second they spawn. Sinking them in the ground hides them but it also makes it harder for the attackers to damage them.

    The build area over the water at the back of the house is deceptive. It looks, at least to my eyes, like it doesn't extend very far out over the water from the back of the house. But when you see no-mod builds like this it seems it actually extends a lot further. Food for thought...

    • @FalloutPBC
      @FalloutPBC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are right It is a larger area than you might think. In this one, I put the structure in there but in another playthrough, I put a string of the large water purifiers in there. Bravo! What an excellent presentation. If no mods are used, Taffington Boat House presents some special challenges to develop as a settlement. Your approach as a committed "no modder" was brilliant. Things worth doing,... simply are, despite the inherent difficulty. Patience is a virtue that is an uncommon trait, nowadays.
    My approach is similar to yours, I never use mods. However, as a long time FO4 player, I do make extensive use of official DLC and exploits discovered over time. I wish I knew of a way to share settlement building techniques with other like-minded players. Well done Sir, cheers!🍺🍺🍻

      Every couple of in-game days I collect the water from here and the other big water farms I have at Warwick homestead and The Castle ( Both of those build tours are coming in the new year )
      Then I head to Diamond City and Bunker Hill and buy any materials I need.
      As for the size bar, I explain that in this video th-cam.com/video/pd21BSlfLuA/w-d-xo.html

    Spawn points _inside_ the settlement area are just the worst. I built my wall around Sanctuary _three times_ before I found out that my impenetrable concrete fortifications were completely and utterly useless against the enemies spawning inside them. This broke the lore and the world building so much for me that I lost interest in the entire building mechanic completely and gave up my destined-for-greatness settlement half finished.

    • @FalloutPBC
      @FalloutPBC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I agree totally.
      I had a very similar reaction to my first Sanctuary settlement.
      What I came to realise is that because NPCs can't climb your walls would be really OP.
      I think it was most likely done for balance. It still sucks and does break lore. But the more I thought about it, raiders etc, would likely be able to climb over or dig under most of the walls in the game anyway.
      What I ended up doing is taking note of the spawn points and mostly just building inside them where possible. For settlements like this where you don't have much room I just choose to ignore it. If settlements get attacked while I'm away I tend to just leave them to it. Most of the time they defend themselves fine and if not repairs are easy anyway.
      While I do take note of the spawn points I don't let that dictate what I build too much. I just enjoy building what I think makes sense in the world. A lot of my builds have a mostly lore-friendly RP approach.

    I like that you, for the most part, kept it pretty lore friendly, (i really dont like CCs making big concrete behemoth blockhouses and stuff that just dont belong) but if i were to have any criticism, it would be that its too "square", nothings been put at angles or use of curves, and a few too many repeating textures eg using the same railing piece all along the same walkways, the same wall used for the whole length etc, but other than that it looks great.

    • @FalloutPBC
      @FalloutPBC  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree about the massive concrete structures etc, those types of builds just don't work for me.
      I really do like to at least try to keep my builds lore friendly, with some allowance for just having fun with the building system and experimenting with some of the wilder content.
      At the end of the day, it is a game and you players should always feel free to just have fun however they like of course.
      I disagree about the look of this one not being scrappy enough. I strongly dislike builds that are scrappy for the sake of it. I don't buy into the idea that you have to always alternate railings and wall textures etc. For me, that breaks lore almost as much as the giant settlements.
      I do use the scrappy look but only in settlements where I feel it would be more basic and improvised naturally.
      If the major factions of this world can build something like the Prydwen they can certainly build straight mono-textured building walls or have railings on a walkway made of the same material.
      For me, it just comes down to who the faction is that's in control. A handful of settlers will be very scrappy by necessity, a significant base of a main faction would have the resources and knowledge to be generally more regular looking and tidy.
      With factions like the Brotherhood and Institute around 2077 and beyond tech and building techniques are very much still likely to show up.
      Still, that's just my two cents on what is or isn't lore friendly. Lots of people enjoy running around the game with lightsabres or modern-day weapons and such like and that's all cool too.
      Thanks for watching and leaving such an interesting comment. It's much appreciated.

    Only if the settlers had a bit better A.I to help builds this beautiful and well thought out function better. I built up some nice areas and the ai just stand around at the house with the power armor rig instead lol.

      It is frustrating. Sometimes I'm amazed at how good the A.I. is when I build something really complex and the settlers navigate around it in no time.
      Then later they are all standing in one room ignoring all the features around them. It is very strange.

      Indeed. I built such a nice board walk housing area using my own desing with sim settlements and they never go down there. Heart breaking lol. I need a game like fallout, but with amazing build tools like valhime...looking foward to seeing your new videos.

    Didn't you try the disable command to remove the dead body? For me this works... I use the disable command a lot in my settlements. 😉

      @@FalloutPBC oh no worries. I probably could have seen it. 😉 Do you know how to remove the rotten bramins? Or do you just build over them?

      @@R0N1N_78 Thank you, I apreciate that.
      There is no way to remove the brahmin on Xbox. I do tend to find ways to build over things where possible yes. On my latest playthrough at Taffington I put two metal storage draw units over the body. It worked well, looks good and was functional.

    The spawn points are ridiculous. I would question why they are inside the build area, but it's Bethesda so go figure. 🤷

      I agree, I have no idea what possesed them to put spawns inside the build limits.
