Amazing build. I’ll be starting my own FIRST TIME EVER Playthrough when the Next Gen Patch releases, and while I doubt I’ll approach the detail you put in here, it’s an amazing inspiration.
Many thanks! I'd been toying with that idea for a long time, but couldn't seem to find the right spot. Then with the big drop of the cliffside it seemed to ideal place to put it.
Ya know man, whether it's the best game of all time or not, it's certainly the only game I still play nearly every day, watch countless YT creators play, modded to the gills and stripped back down to vanilla when it suits me- and never once have I gotten tired of it. I don't think I ever will... I love your tower man, it's brilliant. I'm going to work on one of my own, you've inspired me.
I'm the same, I just keep coming back to this game. I love just how much variety there is. So many different types of character builds, factions to align with etc. My builds change based on the character's alliance and motivation. Really glad the video has inspired you! Hope the tower build goes well!
The NPC's don't use elevators. If you put someone on the top level make sure you make a ladder to the ground level. Unless you want them trapped up there
Thanks, LeAaron but It's not a problem here as it's a robot-only player home with no human settlers. For what it's worth it would work just fine with settlers too. Guards don't sleep so the guard would just stay up there anyway. If I do expand this one day I plan to put a robot workbench on the top deck and build the guard robot up there. With this method, you can use the robot bench to effectively teleport any robot you want to that floor or deck. I've been using these robot-only settlements for many years now. I like them a lot for automated player homes. My Red Rocket build here on the channel is robot only too.
That is quite incredible! I have to say that I really like the idea of basing robot provisioners at Graygarden since, as you rightly point out, it is originally staffed by robots. I was going to have a robot build site and therefore provisioner hub at another location, added by a mod I am running (Madkea, if anyone is interested) since in the playthrough of the Mechanist DLC that is where it wanted me to make the alterations to my robot companion. But I like this idea much more. Thank you once again for the inspirational content!
I'm really pleased to have provided a bit of inspiration. I have tried to not repeat myself on other playthroughs but it's such a good location to have a robot hub. There's a lot of space to build, it's nice and central, the robots come and go easily, there are already robots there so no humans to keep happy. It just makes so much sense I struggle when I don't use it. Lol I'll look that mod up thanks.
I'm just getting back into FO4 after 2000+ hours of FO76 from which I'm getting burnt out. I don't remember all of the assets you have on display. The mannequins are one example. You mentioned extending the build limit by dropping weapons, armor or junk and scraping them in build mode. If I remember right, you can drop lots of stuff and merely store them in build mode. I distinctly remember dropping larger stuff like heavy weapons because they brought the build limit meter down much faster. Then pulling them out of the workbench and using them again. That's all incidental to my wanting to complement your build though. You have definitely given me ideas for Graygarden that I hadn't considered.
Wow! 2000+ hours of F76 is amazing. I should hire you as the channels 76 expert. The mannequins are from the contraptions DLC. I'm putting up a video very soon just going through the size glitch and a couple of the other building basics. It seems the channel has a lot of players new to the game and returning players like yourself. Thanks for the compliment Charles and it's great to know you are finding some ideas from the builds. Good luck with your builds!
@@FalloutPBC I'm a piker compared to a lot of high level players. I'm on a third character at level 346. My other two are at close to level 200. A lot of those hours are me pretending I can build a nice camp. Not very good darn it.
@@FalloutPBC I get into the main quests, like the first one where you go to the enemy saw mill and convince them to leave the Wayward Inn alone. The trick to that is to get leveled up to about lvl 5, then go and figure out how to sneak in. When on the road and you first see the mill go left down to the water and come in that way instead of the front gate. All it takes is patience. Do them one at a time and don't hurry. The game doesn't bog you down so much, and points you in the right direction. Do the Overseer tapes mission. It's the best way to learn the whole map. Go to a train station and read the wall posters, they give you the side quests to help build your character and level you up. And they're designed for people just starting out. Good luck.
@@CharlesSmith-io9fp Thanks Charles! Great tips there. I had no idea about the train station! Lol I would like to do some F76 stuff for the channel at some point soon.
It is very thorough Lol! I thought at the time I'd gone a bit overboard with it. But I really miss this level of organization in some of my newer playthroughs.
I love checking out bases, I just wish there was more variety between walls, like if some were dilapidated or slightly crumbling, would make it feel a lot more cannon. I just don’t like how when ever I build something you can tell cause it’s all with the same walls. Edit: love how you take the time to give little self lore for every room/ area around your base! That launch tube was by far the coolest part lol
I know what you mean it would have been nice to see some more variety. I think from a lore point of view it depends on who is building the settlement. I try to keep things scrappy and mix up the walls in places that would be built by settlers. I have a really scrappy mix coming up soon at Coastal Cottage. Keep an eye out for that video coming soon. Keep an eye out for that if you want to see a really run-down scrappy build. I also think that the more advanced factions like the Brotherhood could very easily build tidy straight buildings, I mean if they can build the Prydwen they can build a neat building right! So for me, it's all about the context of who, how, where and when. P.S. I love the launch tube too! I have a Brotherhood build coming soon at the airport that has a launch ramp so stay tuned for that too. It's a fun one.
Glad I found this channel some fantastic builds on here, would love a progress video or build guide. My settlements are no where near this level of ingenuity
Interesting build. I'm currently working on Gray Garden myself. I went in totally different direction but you got me thinking that maybe building up to the elevated roadway might be fun. Great video.
Thanks Dan! Very pleased the video gave you some ideas. You probably already know, but you can also build on the elevated roadway at Finch Farm. Good luck with your builds!
Sir that is a super idea!! Lots of people have said they like the launch tube, so I'm going to try your idea out and see if I can come up with an improved version. Many thanks for commenting.
I like what you did here, you are the only other person I have seen use this as a roboprovisioner hub / player home. Like you said, just kinda makes sense to do that. I used to make big setups like but somehow got to the thinking that less is more and started to make 1 medium sized warehouse that wraps around the space where the workshop is and manage to cram a lot of stuff in it and rarely use the overpass for anything but 1 or 2 turrets.
Many thanks! I try to do things differently every playthrough, but this is one settlement I always seem to make a hub. I like the less is more style and do that on most playthroughs these days.
Glad to see a good Greygarden build! I just give them some electricity, throw in some security to exceed their water and food, and call it a day. 😂 Kudos for a nice build! Love the power armor launch tube.
Thanks! I think it's one of the best locations in the game due to it being so central. It makes an ideal main base/home. It's strange but in my current playthroughs, I actually miss this place.
Nice. As I was just messing around, looking for settlement ideas, I was the bridge was within the settlement boundaries. My head about exploded. Lol The launch tube is an amazing idea. I'm definitely stealing that one from you. Lol
Many thanks! The launch tube idea has been a popular feature of this build. I've done something similar on some big Brotherhood builds coming up this year, so stay tuned for that. Glad the video provided a bit of inspiration. Good luck with your build!
Wow thanks so much for the kind words Arthur. I'm really glad you liked it. I do like the more practical side of building. Great to have you as a subscriber, welcome aboard!

Absolutely brilliant! My playthrough recently was made of junk walls, wood housing and scaffolding stairs, etc with human settlers occupying the overpass. But I am absolutely impressed with this take and I think I'll be using this idea for my latest playthrough and make this a robot exclusive settlement . . . QUESTION: Did you ever come back to this for viewers? I'll look around your channel, but would LOVE to see a build tutorial for this 🤙🤙🤙
Thanks for the comment. You can also build on the freeway at Finch Farm. I'll have that build up in the future, so stay tuned and good luck with your builds.
Many thanks! I have a ground-based helipad coming up in my Warwick build. Not as nice as it would have been here, but I least I got it working somewhere.
@@FalloutPBC yes I agree haha I found out that my one for spectacle island can actually get there with the hover lol so I made all the rest of them bots lol
The launching pad has to be the single best thing I've ever seen in any settlement build. Kudos to you, good sir. Side note: ever think about using mods? Even if it's just for building and decorating. I think it'll give your settlements that "lived in" feeling. Just a thought.
Many thanks! I had the idea one day and just had to find the right spot to build it. All of my current build videos ( baring Coastal Cottage that was a build commissioned by a fan ) are OLD. Like yourself, I play on Xbox One and use robot provisioners with Mr. Handy thrusters, along with gatling lasers and mini guns. Have you ever had the game revert any of your robots back to a basic biped form? It has happened to a few of my provisioners.
Sadly yes. It's a well-known bug. There is quite a bit of info online about it. Many people have tried to work out what's happening and proposed solutions. None have worked for me. I tend to only get this in the southeast area. My provisioners for the castle revert often. I suspected it had something to do with combat and damage as it only happens to me in that one area. Others think it's something to do with that cell specifically.
@@FalloutPBC I've had it happen with my Red Rocket and Tenpines Bluff robots just to name a couple. The massive update that is coming next year is supposed to fix a lot of bugs, but we will be left out because its only for the new consoles like PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
@@michaelproctor8100 Thats very interesting. In thousands of hours of play I have only seen it in that one area around the castle, it's never affected me in the north. But if you have had it happen in the north then it can't be anything to do with location. My robots in the south are much more heavily armed than those in the north. So I wonder if this is something to do with a set piece of equipment? Extra armour or a heavy weapon perhaps? Or maybe the overall value of the robot? I think I will try only the same basic robots in the south east and see if that has any effect. I upgraded to XboxSX a couple of months ago when my old Xbox died. So I will be getting that update when they finally get round to doing it. It will be interesting to see what bugs get fixed ( if any )

It's worth checking to see if they are on sale at the moment due to the 25th anniversary. Thanks for watching and happy building!
There's a duplication glitch and there's no real build limit. Bring all the guns you take from your enemies and scrap them in your settlement. I know you already know this, I'm just wondering why you didn't mention this in the video 🤔
I have a question, please. Did you move the Muta-berry plants? I think so. I want to do that, too. The problem is that the robots don't seem to notice it and keep going to the old - but now empty - spot of a Muta-berry plant and start chopping. Crazy.....how did you solve that problem? Thank you very much, buddy! 🙂
First thanks for saying please with your question! It's extremely rare that anyone says please or thank you, they just demand an answer, it drives me nuts! So thanks for that. The plants have been moved. You can see I like to have them organized into little groups. As for the robots, you are right they are glitched and as far as I know you can't fix them. I just put the plants in roughly the same area and build a new robot or two that will farm correctly. It's a sub-optimal solution but I think it's the best option.
(google translator) Hello friend, how do you build a lot in the settlements without using mods? I build very small wooden houses and I reach the limit of construction
Hello friend, you need to drop weapons, armour or junk and scrap them in build mode. I will make a video explaining all the pros and cons of doing this soon.
@@FalloutPBC Hello again, have you had performance problems or does the screen freeze when you save using that method to extend the construction limit?
Yep, as I said there are pros and cons, you have to be careful not over use it! A few people have been asking about this so I'm going to get the video out next week
@@knicksprop That's great! I hope some of the other builds could help too. I have lots more builds coming this year. So plenty of inspiration to be found here.
How do you build those buildings without mod? If i put 50 items, the game tells me I can't put any more items. There is a limit for all the settlements.
I’ve been trying to do a multi level build like this at Graygarden and just can’t get the elevators placed right to be able to easily get on each highway level. Did you build bottom up or top down? I just can’t get the spacing right.
This is a really old build that developed gradually over time so it's hard to be sure but I think it was bottom-up. I can remember it taking up many nights of work just playing around with it. Once I had the idea in my head I just had to make it work. I can tell you that I did the same sort of thing recently at Finch Farm. I did that one top-down. I also did two modded builds recently at ArcJet and Boston Airport and I did both of those top down too. None of these ones had a middle level to worry about though.
Thanks for the question Callum. The honest answer is I have no idea! This was a play-though so it grew organically over time. I started with just the walled farm, I added a house on the down slope. As the DLC's dropped I found new things to add. Eventually I added the double lifts. The big problem was resources! This was before you could buy building supplies so all the materials were gathered from missions. Build limit is a big problem too. I had so many ideas I wanted to add but just had to abandon them. My character on this play-through is level 98, I have hundreds of hours in the game.
@@FalloutPBC I use a mod that gets rid of build limit can’t remember what it’s called off the top of my head but I can tell you what it’s called if you like after I finish work

I’m playing on XBOX s series and as soon as a settlement starts to be nicely developed, the game decides it’s too many frames to process and crashes me out of further development
Hi Christian, It's horrible when that happens. This settlement was much bigger at one point too. This is right on the limit of what the Xbox One can handle. No this is all natural. Most of this was built on Xbox One long before mods were even available on the console! This was built over a long playthrough, so all the resources were gathered naturally too.
Messages like this are really disappointing. First off it is relatively easy to get the wire to do that, it's not like it's some odd technique that nobody knows. In fact, I have videos here on the channel showing how to glitch things in just fine without mods. So if you don't know how to do it ask me, I would have been happy to help. Second, what do you think I have to gain from calling the video no mods if it wasn't? Modded videos get more views so what possible motivation would I have to lie about it? So I ask that in future you just think a little bit before insulting a creator and the hundreds of hours of work they put in to entertaining people.

I love this build. That's all. I just dig it
Thanks for the support! Lots more builds on the way.
Lol
I'll look that mod up thanks.
@@CharlesSmith-io9fp Wow that's impressive to me. I've struggled to get into F76 I'm on my forth try! lol
Lol
I would like to do some F76 stuff for the channel at some point soon.
Great OC-level organization! I feel so inadequate
Hello sir I just found your channel tonight. But oh my I love it! You definitely deserve to have more subs. Please keep uploading

@@FalloutPBC Actually I had no idea that the overpass at Finch Farm was usable. I am going to have to do a little exploring there now. Thank you.

Sir that is a super idea!! Lots of people have said they like the launch tube, so I'm going to try your idea out and see if I can come up with an improved version. Many thanks for commenting.
Finally some new content 💚
Thanks for sticking with me, hopefully I'll have content up regularly now.
Cool build.
Thanks David. Hopefully more cool stuff up soon.
Lol
The launch tube is an amazing idea. I'm definitely stealing that one from you. Lol
Many thanks! The launch tube idea has been a popular feature of this build. I've done something similar on some big Brotherhood builds coming up this year, so stay tuned for that.
Glad the video provided a bit of inspiration. Good luck with your build!
I'm not a fan of building high (for myself) but this is very impressive.
Thank you Michael!
I had no idea you could go up to the bridge - I'll have to try it too! love it
You can go up there at Finch Farm too!

Absolutely brilliant! My playthrough recently was made of junk walls, wood housing and scaffolding stairs, etc with human settlers occupying the overpass.
But I am absolutely impressed with this take and I think I'll be using this idea for my latest playthrough and make this a robot exclusive settlement . . .

Wow! I wish building settlements wasn't so taxing on the operating system and game engine. I feel it doesn't take long to hit the build limit and you start to realize all the lost potential you had planned.
I've been there it's very frustrating to have big plans and to get stoped before you have got 20% of the build done.
But you can reset the size bar without mods. It's not something to be abused but it can be done safely.

when I try to build up in a settlement I seem to reach a boundary far less than 7 floors that I can't go above. how do you get around it?
I think each settlements height limit is different. Starlight drive in and gray garden are some of the tallest build areas in the game.
Thanks for the question. Yes Mr. Love and Kindness is correct, all the settlements have different vertical volume limits. There's a duplication glitch and there's no real build limit. Bring all the guns you take from your enemies and scrap them in your settlement. I know you already know this, I'm just wondering why you didn't mention this in the video 🤔
I made two videos covering the benefits and problems of using the various methods for reducing the size bar in my building tips series.

I need this as a mod I’m too lazy to build 😭😭
That's an interesting idea? Maybe I'll turn it into a mod one day.
Share your build on nexus
Thanks for the tip! I hadn't thought of that, I'll look into it.
How long did this take you ?

Hi Christian, It's horrible when that happens. This settlement was much bigger at one point too. This is right on the limit of what the Xbox One can handle. I have since upgraded to Xbox SX and the performance is massively better.

No this is all natural. Most of this was built on Xbox One long before mods were even available on the console!
This was built over a long playthrough, so all the resources were gathered naturally too.
"No Mods" the wire crossing the Glass windows, no mods MY ass
Messages like this are really disappointing.
First off it is relatively easy to get the wire to do that, it's not like it's some odd technique that nobody knows. In fact, I have videos here on the channel showing how to glitch things in just fine without mods.
So if you don't know how to do it ask me, I would have been happy to help.
Second, what do you think I have to gain from calling the video no mods if it wasn't?
Modded videos get more views so what possible motivation would I have to lie about it?
So I ask that in future you just think a little bit before insulting a creator and the hundreds of hours of work they put in to entertaining people.
