I’ve already seen it. Back in the day, he constantly bashed the prequels years after they came out. If he had this platform back when the prequels were coming out, he would have acted much the same as he is now.
Also the only way The Emperor could still show up is if his HATE got imbued on to the crashed death star and he was Sith force ghost trapped in the wrecked death star he died in. That is the ONLY way they could bring him back canonically. Because he is a Sith and abandoned the will of the force for the will of the self. Sith can only become force ghosts if a part of their darkness gets trapped in an object. So being more powerful in life makes them weaker in death. That's why it's really good that Vader became good again before he died or he would have became nothing or be trapped with his hate inside of an object.

True, but the animated series would have helped people seeing the prequels. So let us not leave that medium out of things that shouldn't be required before viewing a movie. (btw: read the Thrawn Trilogy and make that your sequel, as lots did 20 years ago.)
You can still understand the movies though. The books are just added detail. The original trilogy doesn’t really explain the state of the galaxy that much either
I agree here for the simple reason not everyone is interested in reading a bunch of books to make them understand the movie. A movie should be able to stand on its own without having to do extra reading. I personally loved the expanded universe pre disney era but I can't say i am enthusiastic about reading any of the books now.

George Lucas deserved some blame also. George Lucas should of close out his trilogy then sold it. George Lucas sold Star Wars to disney because Bob iger just pulled off a huge deal by purchasing Steve Jobs Pixar and George Lucas felt that Disney had the assets to expand star wars in different mediums. George Lucas had the upper hand but Steve Jobs made more calculated moves than George Lucas did. George Lucas chose KATHLEEN KENNEDY becsuse of friendship and the other reason is they go way back to Steven Spielberg days. George Lucas is a great storyteller but he can at times make cheesy movies like the phantom menace hence its Goku on cloud ☁ Nimbus and Attack of the Clones is another cheesy movie. Now revenge of the Sith is a good movie. The Clone Wars tv 📺 show saved the pre sequels, it made Anakin turning to the dark side more believable Dave Filoni needs to just make a animated series about Luke jedi school and how he became the luke we see in the last jedi. Now Star Wars needs to grow and expand by telling stories outside the Skywalkers. Like deep in the past and far into the future when rey and luke are myths. They should also explore more of the jedi and sith history but they should also explore more light force users who are not jedi and dark side users who are not siths or first orders. Just something new and fresh. Star Wars ia big galaxy and it should feel like one and its very diverse in genre because its a fantasy,sci-fi,western, and a mythological tale. The OT Star Wars had more of the Tv 📺 show Firefly feel and the Original Battle Star Galactica feel with a dash of fairy tale like the wizard of oz and flash Gordon mix together. The Prequels had more of a biblical, lore and Mythological medival feel. Ancient historical feel. Star Wars have to explore the past, lore of the jedi and sith and explore the deep future when the sequels are myths. And have great sory telling

I am surprised by myself that I do not care anymore. Even the other star wars movies got uninteresting for me. I dont feel like to watch then so often like before force awakens.
I've loved Star Wars since I was that 6 year old kid watching A New Hope in my uncle's lounge room. Now after what's been done to it I just don't care. And to me that is genuinely heartbreaking.
You see, so many people love to criticize the people who hate on these crappy new movies, but these new movies have robbed us of our joy of what once was the greatest film franchise ever. It’s like they’ve turned us against a good old friend, and that just sucks! When you can ruin something which many have loved for decades for those people who have loved it, you deserve to be hated upon.
Exactly. The outline, script, dialogue, and plot points of the sequels, both jj and Rian versions, play out/perform/feel like fan fiction dreamt from the pure thought "what if this happened". Rather than creating a succinct and strong story with rhyme and reason. They just said "whatever questions arise from our malfeasance, you can't criticise us because then you're not doing what you're supposed to be doing as fans. Just enjoy the damn movie and move on".

Mar10 At least those changes were minimal and made with his own characters. Like, Greedo shooting first does matter, but certainly nowhere near as much as Luke willingly attempting to kill a child. George Lucas’ choices aren’t all great, that’s for sure, but that doesn’t change the betrayal he went through in the end
@@guldmattbb473 Luke didn't try to kill Ben Solo though. He saw the suffering, the genocide, and the destruction that Ben would cause and Luke's instincts told him to prevent it all. But the good in him stopped him before he could take action. His lightsaber activated, Luke froze filled with shame and the knowledge that because of his instincts, (instincts similar to when Vader threatened Leia) he had failed not only Ben, but his entire purpose as a Jedi. Ironicly, that moment was the event that semented Ben's turn.
Gavin Hamilton That still was a drastic change to Luke’s character nonetheless, at least in comparison to Greedo shooting first. It’s not even that specifically that I took issue with personally, it was the fact Luke never even attempts to correct this wrong after the fact. Like, it’s Luke Skywalker, the man who willingly gave himself up to the Empire just to save his supposedly ‘already lost’ father from the dark side. You’re telling me that after causing something so monumentally bad, he’d just cower away and blame the entire Jedi order on it? Luke making an impulsive decision is one thing. Running away like a coward and never trying to fix it for years is one other thing. Hell, he doesn’t even try to reason with Kylo Ren after the fact. He just shows up, taunts Ben Solo for a few minutes, then fucks off with a snarky ‘see ya, kid’. That was his chance to actually be Luke Skywalker. The man who sees the good in even the worst people in the galaxy. The man who saved Anakin. To finally admit his wrongs to Ben and tell him he still has a chance. But no, they couldn’t even give him that.
They should have actually kept him on as a story guy instead of just saying they would. He’s not a good writer or director, but he knows this shit better than anyone and would’ve helped with the transition.

nvrules27 I agree too. I think he could work well as a Kevin Fiege type of producer-overseeing everything and the entire saga will have a clear, one minded, story. Why are they fighting? What does the galaxy look like? Who runs it? Who was Snoke? What do the first order want? These movies are senseless
Apparently, the New Republic didn't believe that the First Order was a threat, so they didn't build an army (this was APPARENTLY explained in the books). Instead, some people within the Republic built the Resistance, using outdated and stolen tech. And then the New Order completely obliterated the government in The Force Awakens. So now it's a fight over who runs the Galaxy, I guess. But yet, despite the New Republic's absence, the rest of the people seem to be doing pretty okay. So the whole premise is just broken. It's less rebels vs an empire of Roman space Nazis and more two factions having a pissing match over whose lightpenis is the biggest and most powerful.
They threw out George's outline and started making the movies without a plan for the trilogy, hence the confusion and emptiness. For me, the saga ends properly with ROTJ.

The first scene shows him throw his lightsaber without even asking where he found it (and we still don't even know how it was found) and this movie took place mere minutes after TFA and and was a slow chase scene. Remember Snoke? He was hyped up to be the next Sith master but oh wait, he was only there to die in a comedic way. These series could've been great the way JJ set it up but TLJ ruined all of it in my opinion. I was so invested in TFA and now I don't even care for TRS
@@j9brando87 **Luke throwing away the lightsaber is actually justified:** Jedi are NOT defined by their lightsabers. Why are so many people thinking like the flawed Jedi in the Jedi Order? Remember when Obi-wan in AOTC said "this weapon is your life." to Anakin in the first chapter of the movie? Those were the wrong teachings! A lightsaber is just a tool that only force-sensitives can use to a greater effect than normal people, such as using it to deflect blaster shots. Did anyone notice Luke won his ultimate test as a Jedi in ROTJ as he threw away his lightsaber and refused to kill the mass-murdering monster that is Vader? As for TLJ as a whole, Rian Johnson was taking risks, and yes we definitely need that especially after the risk-averse Jar Jar Abrams's hack job with TFA, but Rian was too lazy to put in the proper work. He wanted to do something grand, but he never did the groundwork to put supports for a bridge so it the whole thing was just shaky, and it boldly leads to somewhere... or nowhere, ultimately. Because Jar Jar Abrams screwed the screw-up with another screw up by averting any chance of risk with TRS, making all that fandom drama worked up over nothing. What a hack. Doesn't even know how to surf on bad publicity. I mean, the underlying story for how Luke changed from the most forgiving person to trying to kill a nephew who hasn't even completely fallen to the Dark side could have been interesting, but we never got a satisfying answer. The greater the risk, the greater the work needed to provide a tight explanation. I mean, as it stands, Luke's change is as drastic as seeing the charitable Anakin turn into the angsty Vader. Going from helping strangers by offering the winnings of his race rather than taking it for his own to a galactic villain took 3 movies (and it is still arguable whether the story of his change was properly told!), but for Luke we get a... spotty flashback? That's the problem with TLJ. Like I said, greater the risk, the more work you need to get it to work. But boy if you pull it off, it will be a lot more dramatic than whatever formulaic corporate pig shit the likes of Jar Jar Abrams loves to roll around in.

It essentially boils down to "George 'Jar-Jar' Lucas is sad that disney didn't use his certainly terrible notes when he sold his franchise to them for BILLIONS of dollars and I'm so fucking triggered over it!" Based on the prequels, I hope disney literally wiped their asses with his notes. But perhaps that's lost on a certain portion of Star Wars fans these days.
@@icedcapplord710 JarJar Lucas ruined Han's iconic introduction by trying to make him a more one-dimensional good guy from the start instead of the morally grey character he was supposed to start off as. And remember how he ruined Vader by revealing that he was just a whiny little turd who turned evil on a whim because he had a bad dream about his girlfriend? His ideas aren't perfect and shouldn't be treated as sacred, Star Wars would have NEVER been the big deal it became if he had full control over the original trilogy like he did with the prequels, it would have been forgotten and buried by time. He sold the franchise, it wasn't his anymore, he doesn't get to complain that they didn't use his terrible ideas.
You know what, your going to find your wrong about a lot of things. Lucas has helped design hundreds of films and helped on hundreds of episodes of startrek series,he helped make the golden era of 80s films, so just sit back and watch history unfold because hes not done film making yet, starwars is just the one he put his name on and Indiana Jones, but he helped make terminator and terminator2, notice how the sequels aren't epic? Guess why
deathsdoor07 People in the fandom let these movies to dictate their lives so much that it has caused real life consequences for themselves and others. Some of these consequences include harassing and affecting the lives of the many actors involved in the Star Wars films when they are just doing their jobs. Jake Lloyd was driven insane, Hayden Christianson had quit acting cause of the hatred for his role in the prequels, and both Daisey Ridley and Kelly Tran were harassed to the point that they had to leave social media when they did nothing wrong. And it’s not just the cast members. I myself have been threatened by members of the fandom cause I chose to like some of the movies they claim ruined their lives forever. If those are not signs of an unhealthy fandom then idk what is.
Bob's not the one who betrayed Lucas. Kennedy is. Lucas pushed Kennedy (who George had running LucasFilm) on Igor believing Kennedy would keep his story true, because Kennedy said she would, then Igor gave her full reign because Lucas told him "she knows what she's doing". Then Kennedy crapped all over Lucas and made Igor look like an A-Hole. That's why Igor acknowledged it. He also acknowledged it's his fault, but it's a fault of negligence, not a fault of malice.
@Gamer 4 the eternity I would say you are correct in that there is a reason. The reason he didn't stop her earlier is because he made a deal with Lucas to give her full control. Lucas was afraid Disney wouldn't respect his IP, so he pushed KK on them, not realizing she was the one who was about to destroy it. . At the end of the day, both Lucas and Iger messed up. But there "sin" was one of trust, and they believed KK when she lied to their face saying she would respect and protect the universe she was being given control of.
While Iger was negligent, I believe Kennedy's malice to be indirect. I say that because Kennedy wasn't directly involved with the writing nor the production of the movies, rather she was only involved with hiring and promoting the morons who would end up trashing Star Wars.
@@youtubeviolatedme7123She was supposed to oversee it! That's a what a producer does. Keep the bigger picture in mind, because unlike the writers and directors, who come and go, she stays on. TRUTH

At least those changes were minimal and made with his own characters.
Ironicly, that moment was the event that semented Ben's turn.
Gavin Hamilton
That still was a drastic change to Luke’s character nonetheless, at least in comparison to Greedo shooting first.

Why are we following these people? What are they fighting over?

@G Ren I didn't ask for nostalgia, TLJ was boring. I wanted to see why Luke was in hiding.
But boy if you pull it off, it will be a lot more dramatic than whatever formulaic corporate pig shit the likes of Jar Jar Abrams loves to roll around in.

for 4 billion, I don't think I would give a shit
@Nostalgia Poodle agree but lets say you create a book/movie/music and no one can add anything to it after your dead. it stays the same (LOTR books) it literally becomes legacy. look at all the ancient books written. Homer wrote the Iliad and that became his legacy, he will be forever remembered by all humanity
@A Frustrated GamerOk, I see what you're saying..but a large chunk of stock in Disney, is still a LOT of money..and after all, he did sign it over
He never said that, my guy.
tHeWasTeDYouTh Keep in mind
that was not really worth it for somebody that was already worth billions of dollars
It does not feel right to see Jeremy this heartbroken.
Feybrad Yeah I agree it’s just not the same 😔🤦🏾♂️
Honestly, he needs to stop being a whiny bitch, this video was pathetic and hard to watch. Jeremy loved TLJ when it came out but he's become such a bitter old man caricature lately that he's pretending that never happened and he doesn't even have a reason why, I think the whiny little bitch fanbase is rubbing off on him too much. Lately he can't review a fucking baked potato without going off on a tangent about how some "sjw" somewhere probably doesn't approve of the sour cream.
@@RoguSpanish he isn't an apologist who defends George Lucas with his life. He only felt extreme sympathy for what Disney did with his characters, his universe, his creation. He already seemed burnt out on Disney Star Wars to begin with if you saw his Solo review, but it's ok to feel sympathy towards the person for basically being lied to as he signed a contract that he couldn't reverse.
Guess why
Kinda sad how disney broke Jeremy’s excitement for Star Wars, who can blame him
tom devinney replace Disney with Drama brought up by an unhealthy fandom.
@@Megaproductions302 What is unhealthy about being part of a fandom?
@@deathsdoor07 He is saying the star wars fandom is unhealthy which is very true
That unhealthiness came about for a reason.
deathsdoor07 People in the fandom let these movies to dictate their lives so much that it has caused real life consequences for themselves and others.
G Ren you’re an idiot.
This trilogy didn't even have a frickin' OVERARCHING STORY. There might as well have been no producer, because they clearly just made it up as they went along, anyway. I'm not a hater, but she neglected her responsibility big time.

Take a breath
I'mma sell my companies and my properties/rights for $4 billion and then complain.

@@ImperiaGin yeah because regret isnt a thing. Money isnt everything and the man sold it expecting to have something to do with it as they said he would. In the end its still his creation and what disney did sucks.
These are the videos that separate you from the rest of the movie reviewers. Good job
Bob Iger: “What I told you is true from a certain point of view”
George: 🖕😞
George: *"Then my franchise is truly dead..."*
5 years ago: "George Lucas was the worst thing to happen to Star Wars."
Now: "George Lucas please come back..."
😟
autumn girl it’s so annoying. I HATE the prequels still, and I love the sequel trilogy. Both sets have their own problems, but at least the sequels are entertaining. The best thing would’ve been Lucas to write the story treatments, and have Disney change whatever necessary to make an awesome product.
David Miranda I think what Disney did was far worse. Two people he trusted to take care of his baby ended up turning it into what we have now just for easy money.
@@davidmiranda1785 The prequels and the sequels have their strengths and weaknesses. The prequels had Lucas' vision and added new ideas to the mythos, but lacked the execution and had terrible cgi. The sequels lacked Lucas' vision and ended up being too anchored on the past, but has better execution and production. Lucasflm needs to have a compromise and balance the familiar and the new in their next Star Wars content, kinda like the Mandalorian.
The prequels were awesome
George Lucas Replies: NO
I remember seeing your reaction to TFA and it melted my heart seeing the excitement in your eyes. Now all of that is gone and its sad.
That's why you shouldn't get overly worked up about sci-fi action movies...
bicknell67 when you let yourself get pulled into drama then of course it will dampen your mood. That’s why I don’t join the drama and enjoy Star Wars for what it is... movies. People seem to forget that and I think Jeremy might be doing the same.
Nothing's ever REALLY gone....
@TheWearyWarlord I agree
I wonder if he burned the curtain.
George Lucas even said he hated the idea of the emperor coming back in the EU because it ruins Anakins story arc
Giving Anakin a story arc at all was already ruining him.
@@0Fyrebrand0 Anakin had a story arc on the original trilogy

This is the most entitled thing I’ve read in a cool min
What is Game of Thrones Season 8???????? It doesn't look like anything to me.
Did you ever hear the tragedy of George Lucas the Wise?...
I thought not. It's not a story Disney would tell you.
@G Ren yeah?, and how the disney trilogy turned out?
well said
@G Ren The real thing to not believe here is Rotten Tomatoes. It's a bogus review website.
