I can see why the sweatshirts & hoodies are pricier seeing as they're 100% wool. When I think of 100% wool, I don't think "soft", but they look super comfortable. I also like the long-sleeve shirt you're wearing in the beginning of the video too.. And I REALLY like the oven you two had put in!! It's great seeing you baking that bread in it.. Looking forward to the cookbook. 🍅🥔🥬🍞🍗
Christine, you have really blossomed, I think you have never been so beautiful, being a mother suits you so so good! And I'm so glad Kalle is the great dad and a really good husband ( partner) to you. And that baby- omg, the cutest ever!!!!
'Mossy Bottom' is the name of a you tube channel by Daniel, right now he's in Finland but started his homestead In the West of Ireland. He does some wonderful things regarding his animals and chickens. Check him out and go back to his earlier days in Ireland. He built the coop so it could move around as Kalle said. Its great because the chicken poop is great fertilizer. I always enjoy your videos. And I was so touched by your last one. Its wonderful to see your little lad and Christine so happy and healthy. It was such a trying time for all of you. Blessings to you all.
Your baby is so cute. I’m so glad that we finally get to see him now before you only getting to see him from the back or the side. Why hide him he’s adorable.
I love your ideas for the channel! As someone living in the US, I find my sanity is challenged, and my faith in the political system here has suffered immeasurably. I find a certain peace and balance in your channel, reminders that there is goodness in the world. Thank you for giving us all moments when we can balance the trials with love, honesty, and sanity. ❤
It's hard to focus on your content, Kalle, when baby August is in the shot: he's such a bundle of sweetness and cuteness! Have you ever heard of homestead farming expert Joel Salatin who has written many fine books on how and where to raise chickens, plant a garden, have a dairy cow on ur own property? He uses chick-shaws that are used to move the chickens around as they live out doors. TH-camr Justin Rhodes follows Joel's ideas quite literally on his homestead in North Carolina. The cover for the cookbook is beautifully done! Congratulations! Looking forward to 'Our Journey Home" --perfect for your family. Much love
The best place for the chickens is alongside the vegetable patch. Before planting they can forage over the plot and clear the slugs and snails. Incidentally, they love fruit, blackberries, strawberries, and scraps from the kitchen. 😊
During the months that you don't have a garden, you can keep your movable chicken house in the garden and utilize all their poop for wonderful fertilizer. You will need a fence if you have free range chickens. They will eat up your veggies. We had to put up a 5ft fence with 1 wire going around the top to make it 6ft tall, to keep out the deer and chickens. 😂😂😂 beautiful animals but they can destroy a garden. Growing your own food and raising your own animal's is wonderful. We love it.
@@KalleFlodinbeware wild animals who love to eat chicken! We have chicken too and we have to put a fence around them because even in The Netherlands there are foxes who eat chicken 🐓

Hi Kalle and Christine - what a wonderful journey is unfolding for your family 😊 I cannot wait to see what is next with the garden, with the changing seasons, with little August growing so quickly... I have been a follower of your story for several years now all the way from Australia. I have German roots and Europe, or should I say the North, has been calling me for quite some time now. Ever since I stumbled across your channel when I was still in school, and now working remote, it brings me a sense of peace and hope that I may be capable to live a similar life. Of simple joys, slow days in deep connection to nature and authentic human connections and culturally rich experiences. Your birth story touched me deeply - seeing you share so vulnerably with us such a life-changing chapter is truly humbling and inspiring ❤ Each video has helped me through hard times and beautiful times, both an escape and a sense of belonging - I am sure your community will continue to grow beyond 300,000 followers very soon! I'd love to see how you prepare, film, and edit a video. I've recently bought a camera mainly for photography but would like to try filming as well. I'd love to learn how you go about the process Kalle. Sending love and warm hugs from Down Under ☺ Hannah
hi Kalle you can have what they call a chicken tractor it is on wheels. But you need to think about auto feeding tubes and watering systems ( dine a chook) is a good brand. Can supply food and water for a week or more per application. Remember you will need heating and insulation for the chicken hose given where you live. They are essentially jungle fowl and do not tolerate extremes . Unless you wish to raise chickens a rooster is not needed.
Been following your channel for over a year. What you have done in the property in such a short time is amazing. The cabin looks great and cozy. I wish you all the greatest happiness and am sure you will reach your 300k subsscribers goal in no time especially with such a gorgeous baby ❤
August, is a beautiful addition to your ever growing family 💛 I have had chickens for years now and two things I have learned is not to put them to far from the house, they are not to noisy and in the heat of summer they never smell. As a suggestion I would put them in the middle of your old and new vegetable gardens so they can dig over the patch you are not eating from, rotating the beds. Using a chook tractor is a fabulous idea, to manage them. Good luck with researching !
It's always so nice to be with you. 🙂 I'm really looking forward to the cookery book. I found it very funny how Tuss was lying under the table when Andreas took the photos (7:33). 😂 That means when I see the cover of the book later, I know that there was a wonderful but tired husky under the table. 😉 Love to you all! ❤
And it's so nice of you to watch my videos 🥰 Haha yes that's actually a bit funny to think about it! AND that I'm also wearing my outdoor work pants since it's I'm only visibel from the waist up 😅
Love the honesty of your channel and the way you want to better your lives. Love gardening too and can’t wait to see what you do next spring / summer. How is your A frame coming along or has this been put on the back burner for now ❤
I’ve lived with chickens my whole adult life. You need to build a sturdy insulated coop that is predator proof. Foxes, skunk, minks will pick them off quickly.
Unfortunately, probably including your huskies, who have very high prey drives and with two pups they form their own pack and may have a field day with free range/unsecured chickens.... I give this advice sadly from personal experience.
I love how your baby looks like he trying to run around already when you hold him. I predict he will one day be running around quite a bit in the yard and forest.
Wow, Kalle, it’s amazing to see how your journey continues to unfold. The cabin already has so much charm, and it’s inspiring to watch you bring even more life and love into it. Wishing you and your little family all the best! 😃
It's amazing to see your life grow from a dream to tangible outcomes. The realistic growth and honesty shown in your channel is refreshing and keeps me coming back! Being parents seems to fit you both so well, all the best with your new family:)
I also follow Simple Living Alaska’s TH-cam channel and it may be worth checking out with regard to chicken breeds and over wintering them in the cold.
Placing the chickens next to the garden is helpful in that all your weeds pulled, vege's gone over can be tossed in. I do a modified free range (we live along a busy road) and my chickens are a resource and a part of my work system that gives me compost, clears weedy areas, eats the bug larvae under my fruit trees and most recently helped increase fertility in my yard (subsoil from a house rebuild due to a fire) so my grass is happy.
Hello dear Kalle, Christine, August & pets!! It’s so lovely watching you all and all the plans you are making for your family and home!! I´m in my late thirties and don´t have too many friends or family with a TH-cam account 🧓😌, but I´ll make sure to ask everyone to subscribe! Cannot wait for your series, Kalle and Christine and little August! xx
Hi! It is so nice to see you three! Si much richness, is another energy, expansive. I think that from the last video it is happening: the series coming home 🌟 About the chickens the family on Talasbuam have a home on wheels for the times there is no snow and another not movable for the times with snow. They say that when snow comes chickens dont like to go on the ground. They cover it with somethin like a net to protect them from other great birds or other animals. When not snow they move them throgh the ground with a movable fence so they can eat and Poop to Enrich the soil. Maybe you can ask them. Thank you both for existing, you are a gift to the world 🦋
Hi Kalle and Christine!👋I loved this video and I can't wait to see all the new videos of y'all as a family in the cabin!👨👩👦August is so freakin' cute and he seems like a very happy and healthy baby boy!💗Also, I can't wait until your cookbook comes out and is available for purchase!🍽And I hope you reach your subscriber goal by the end of this year!👍Sending so much love and hugs from South, MS, USA! 🥰🤗🥰🤗
Christine, you are right about the skin. I’m both ADHD (severe with anxiety) & Autistic. I am very particular about the texture & softness of my clothing. 😊💕BTW Baby August is adorable 😁💕💕
Hi Kalle! I'm excited about the new direction of the channel. I've been here for awhile now, and I'll be sticking around ❤300k bound! Also, I can't wait to see your coop and chickens. I have 14 chickens and they're so much fun!
The new ideas sound wonderful Christine and Kalle. The joyful sounds and sight of a family are always beautiful to observe. Good luck with your viewership.
It looks so cozy 😊 im happy for u Kalle 😊 i actually have a dream myself to live in a Norwegian Grend og smaller community/town 😅 im not quite there yet but i have decided to leave the big city behind and embrace the wild nature that norway has mass amounts to experience. Im very saddened by the bygde-exodus happening in my country, its the last backbone of what little culture we have left, especially when it comes to forming a community. Im not saying it has downsides but having lived in both the big city and smaller towns i would take the smaller town any day tbh. I like especially how nature and green spaces are preserved as well as fjords and things alike. I love the quietness of not having construction work everywhere, noisy and dangerous neighbors and such . Only me and the trees 🌲 and cute birbs and also deer and moose and rabbits and foxes 😅😊😊😊
Thank you for all these good news ! A lot of change to come for you and a promising content for your next videos. You and Christine look more relaxed. Great cover photo for the book, it makes the reader want to open it. So yes, it was worth the four hours of work 😄.
So much beauty, preciousness, and excitement! I make TH-cam videos in a similar spirit as you about my life in the remote West and as a creator who has also been seeking a similar shift and direction with my channel, it's nice to hear your ideas and experience. I seriously wish there was a support group for creators in a similar niche so that we could have more support and feedback because it's such a unique experience. So excited for you and your cookbook and your family and this new chapter at the cabin! Sending love from my little corner of the world to yours 🧡
I found this recently and thought you’d find it interesting!! According to studies by Dr. Heidi Yellen, the vibration of wool is considered to be around 5,000 units of energy, meaning it has a high vibrational frequency compared to other fabrics; this is often cited as a reason why wool is considered to be energetically beneficial when worn as clothing. Key points about wool vibration: High frequency: Wool is said to have a very high vibrational frequency, often measured at 5,000 units. Linen comparison: Interestingly, linen also has a similar high vibration of 5,000, but wearing both together is believed to cancel out their frequencies due to their opposite energy flow. Potential health benefits: Some believe that wearing wool can provide an energetic boost due to its high vibration.
I think peas would be a good option for your garden. They don't take long to grow and produce peas, you can keep them for a long time if you freeze or cure them and fresh peas taste amazing.
What an adorable baby! You would want the chickens close to the house. Predators aren't as likely to get to them if they are closer to where your dogs are. Also you will collect eggs daily and it's more convenient.
Aaah so excited for your new series! I love Christines video as well (her storytelling is so good) but videos made by you two together is even better! Love your channel ❤ And I will definitely buy your cookbook!
Especially at winter time it's nice to have chicken coop not far from the house. It is more convient go through the snow not long way with water bucket etc.. Not too close either, because of mice and other creatures who like to benefit from warmth and food.
A wonderful video!! Nothing more beautiful than seeing a lovely family in a cozy home!! Preparing delicious meals and sharing time together is so precious!! Well done!!😍😍😍🙏🙏🙏
Have been watching you both for a long time but rarely comment. I love your both of your videos but I am really looking forward to seeing the new format with you all as a family. Can’t wait 😊
Gorgeous little baby! I don’t think chickens make a lot of noise and you don’t want them too far away from the house when you take the kitchen scraps out every day to them.
@@justoneacre7873, it helps a lot yup yup, but they still stink if they're enclosed. My parents have chickens (and ducks) and they take such good care of them and their coop, but oh my god, that place reeks haha
I've been subscribed since your first cabin video. To show my appreciation and to contribute a little to your beautiful work. I wish many more will do the same! This video oozes such a harmonious and grounded energy it's a joy . I am looking very much forward to anything you two (three now 💐!) have in mind. Thank you so much for creating such a special and beautiful channel ⚘
I was born in August, so I am in love with your son's name! He is so precious! Your videos bring me joy. Thank you! I love your new kitchen and all the wonderful countertops, beautiful oven etc. I hope your cookbook comes out soon, so we can see the recipe for the bread! Lovely clothing company too, I better start saving! Question, is it soft like merino inside, or do you need a layer under. I have sensitive skin, and they looks so hearty and nice. Thank you if you get a chance to answer!
Icelandic chickens would be great for your climate. You really want your chickens closer to the house given the predator pressure and in your forests, you must have a lot of predators of chickens. Chicken tractors are great as long as they're not super heavy. You may want more than 12 Icelandic chickens because they're not as good at laying eggs as other breeds.
I love your videos…so wholesome and interesting! Your little one is so so sweet! It is wonderful that you are in your cabin together, and planning on a duo uTube experience for us! Love from Pennsylvania, USA💕🌷🐻
There's a farm called Ridgedale Permaculture up in Västra Ämtervik. He does a lot of regenerative agriculture involving chickens and has many many videos on TH-cam to watch. This may give you some ideas. It has inspired me for sure!
Just discovered your channel & am liking it very much! I follow a channel called Living Traditions Homestead & they raise chickens and have developed some very clever ~hoop coops~ & a ~chicken moat~ where the chickens and ducks can free range around the moat. The coops are able to maintain thru the winter where they can have some pretty good snowstorms! Keep up the good work!😊...Always, Hope
All the best to you Kalle & Kristina as a New Young Family 🥰 Now it will get the the first Winter ❄️ in Sweden for 3 lovely adults & 2 happy dogs ❤️ Nice sunny greetings from Spain 🙋♀️😀🇮🇨, Yvonne
As always, enjoyed the video. Chicken coops with wheels are very handy. Any date on when the cook book will be available and thanks for the 15% New Sweden discount.
Thank you so much for sharing this video on your channel. Wishing you and Kristina many happy years together as a young family with a wonderful baby boy. Take care Guys. 🇬🇧👍🏻🇸🇪
Have you ever thought of setting up a greenhouse to extend your growing season? I've also seen people move their chicken houses/coops around with ATVs, where the chicken coops are on skiffs or sled treads and have screens on the bottom, so the chicken poop drops into the soil. The chicken droppings enrich the soil and then then the farmer may move the chicken house in various places on a property every couple of months and rake the chicken droppings into the soil.
I'm so excited 😀 for your new episodes called "Our Journey Home" ❤️ and to see your garden expansion, chickens and more!! Your new cookbook looks amazing too. So happy for your family. Love from the USA ❤️❤️❤️😍
I truly do love the videos that you post, very very motivating and gets me out during the winter months here in Canada. I do have one question though, are you releasing a cook book?
Your son is adorable! I guess you have pretty much figured out your Chicken Situation by now, but you might want to look into RuthAnn Zimmerman's Channel Homesteading with the Zimmermans! They built a very interesting chicken coop/tractor this summer! Her content focuses on feeding her family homegrown food, giving them clean cosmetics and remedies, and over all raising her children with chores that include them into this process age adepted and let them develop into responsible reflected adults appreciating this healthy rural lifestyle!
Love the plans for your garden, and Wow, that Zucchini. Very excited for the channels path. As for questions. Do you feel your son will adjust well to the dark season, or are you anticipating disrupted sleep schedule. I remember when ours were young, when we had time change in the spring, it took a few days to adjust.
We built a chicken coop and added a large hanging feeder and nipple waterer. We had to leave for a month and it was absolutely no problem! The food and water stayed clean and they had room under the coop to roam. Ill send you a photo.
Love your video's. And admire you for sharing your life, all of it. This helps so many people with opening up. For the garden, look at Justin Rhodes Homestead for the chickentracktor and chickshaw. In combination with permaculture. I have my chickens mobile during the summer and in the greenhouse in the winter with a electric net surrounding them. Works wonderfull.
Great cover picture ! Great idea for joining your videos in the future! And great idea with the chickens! We are also considering movable chicken coop for next year and maybe some goats cuz our baby loves goat milk very much:) All the best for your beautiful family!!
I would love one of those hoodies, but I don’t have a spare £250 - I was given a hoodie in the summer, but it was a cotton one and has a scouting logo on it - it will always remind me of a great scout camp.
I totally understand it, I usually save up for a while to afford clothing like this. Because I’d rather pay for something that’s built to last than buy cheaper items that need replacing often 😊
Yes, I have a Fjällräven winter coat that is over ten years old and I have had to repair it many times, but they cost over £500 now and I can’t afford to replace it - and I love that it has lots of pockets and all the mendings are little scars that remind me of some great adventures!
@@KalleFlodin Well, nuanced in the way that not all 'shitty clothes' automatically disrupt hormones-factors like the specific chemicals, skin contact, and how our bodies handle them play a big role. It's a bit more complex, thats what I ment :)
@@happywilliam1hi, so I’m a biologist (physiology focused) and it is way more nuanced than that, however synthetic clothes leech microplastics into the environment and for that reason alone it’s good to avoid.

It’s so wonderful that August will grow up surrounded by the beauty of nature & learning what’s most important in life!! Thanks Kalle & Christine for sharing your journey with all of us!! May God bless you always and guide you in your walk through life!! Blessed to you and your beautiful family!!🙏🙏🙏😍😍😍
I´m in my late thirties and don´t have too many friends or family with a TH-cam account 🧓😌, but I´ll make sure to ask everyone to subscribe! Cannot wait for your series, Kalle and Christine and little August! xx
That's sweet of you to say, thank you ❤❤❤
You need to borrow the sheep from Talasbuan or another friends goats to do the clearing for you.
Hi! It is so nice to see you three! Si much richness, is another energy, expansive. I think that from the last video it is happening: the series coming home 🌟
About the chickens the family on Talasbuam have a home on wheels for the times there is no snow and another not movable for the times with snow.
What a beautiful kitchen you have now. Yes, make your own bread, so much better.
Look how he keeps looking to his Dad..SO sweet,so pure.❤
❤❤❤
Hi Kalle! I'm excited about the new direction of the channel. I've been here for awhile now, and I'll be sticking around ❤300k bound! Also, I can't wait to see your coop and chickens. I have 14 chickens and they're so much fun!
LOVE your open fireplace!
thank you 🥰 It's one of my favorite spots in the cabin!
I love your kitchen! What kind of bread did you make? It looked delicious! Your baby is just adorable! ❤
Key points about wool vibration:
High frequency:
Wool is said to have a very high vibrational frequency, often measured at 5,000 units.
Linen comparison:
Interestingly, linen also has a similar high vibration of 5,000, but wearing both together is believed to cancel out their frequencies due to their opposite energy flow.
Potential health benefits:
Some believe that wearing wool can provide an energetic boost due to its high vibration.
I think peas would be a good option for your garden. They don't take long to grow and produce peas, you can keep them for a long time if you freeze or cure them and fresh peas taste amazing.
Talk to Mathias and Tuva (sorry if I spelt it wrong) of talasbuan..they can advise you on keeping chickens...use your resources...xo from New Zealand
What an adorable baby! You would want the chickens close to the house. Predators aren't as likely to get to them if they are closer to where your dogs are. Also you will collect eggs daily and it's more convenient.
August appears to enjoy being on camera!
Always good to dig your land up before it gets cold, so that in spring the thaw will help to break up the lumps of soil for you
Aaah so excited for your new series! I love Christines video as well (her storytelling is so good) but videos made by you two together is even better! Love your channel ❤ And I will definitely buy your cookbook!
I will continue with my videos as well 🥰
Double luck for me
Looking forward to the new journey!
Especially at winter time it's nice to have chicken coop not far from the house. It is more convient go through the snow not long way with water bucket etc.. Not too close either, because of mice and other creatures who like to benefit from warmth and food.
That's very true! 😊
Sooo beautiful to see all of you!! All my love to you!🥰💗✨✨🩷🩵😘🤗
I am so happy for your Family 🙏💓 God Bless You All have fun enjoying your new kitchen and plumbing you have come a long way Together 😉
A wonderful video!! Nothing more beautiful than seeing a lovely family in a cozy home!! Preparing delicious meals and sharing time together is so precious!! Well done!!😍😍😍🙏🙏🙏
Loved your video and the wool clothing sounds great , its that time of year. Thanks for sharing. Your baby's smile is so sweet.
Such a lovely family! Enjoy all your videos and look forward to your next project!🌞
Have been watching you both for a long time but rarely comment. I love your both of your videos but I am really looking forward to seeing the new format with you all as a family. Can’t wait 😊
I really appreciate you taking the time to comment, thank you 🥰❤️
Gorgeous little baby! I don’t think chickens make a lot of noise and you don’t want them too far away from the house when you take the kitchen scraps out every day to them.
Not too far away, yes, but far away enough because they'll STINK
@ haha! They don’t smell if you clean the run out on a regular basis!
@@justoneacre7873, it helps a lot yup yup, but they still stink if they're enclosed.
My parents have chickens (and ducks) and they take such good care of them and their coop, but oh my god, that place reeks haha
Wow, your son is so adorable! 😍
Love the idea to the new channel and the last video about the birth story was so incredibly beautiful, thanks for sharing a such personal moment ❤
All the best to you Kalle & Kristina as a New Young Family 🥰 Now it will get the the first Winter ❄️ in Sweden for 3 lovely adults & 2 happy dogs ❤️
Nice sunny greetings from Spain 🙋♀️😀🇮🇨, Yvonne
Exicted to see “Our Journey Home” 😊
As always, enjoyed the video. Chicken coops with wheels are very handy. Any date on when the cook book will be available and thanks for the 15% New Sweden discount.
So happy for your family of 3 being together! Sweet video!
Thank you so much Lisa 🥰❤️
Love the idea of sharing a channel together as a family 🩶 also, I love the cover of your cook book kalle … how exciting to have come this far.
I truly do love the videos that you post, very very motivating and gets me out during the winter months here in Canada. I do have one question though, are you releasing a cook book?
That's very nice of you to say, thank you ❤ Yes I am, wasn't that clear in the video? 😅🙈
@KalleFlodin Yes I was assuming you were, but wanted to verify it because my intuition is garbage lol.
Jeg elsker at følge jeres rejse ♥️ Grattis till boken, Kalle. Snyggt cover. Og dejlig lille familie 🥰
Love ur lil man ,so pleased u are thru the stress of the past ❤ live starts again on an even keel ... Namaste 🙏
Thank you! The new channel sounds so good. 🎉❤
Cookbook pictures look so amazing Congratulations 🎉
Τι ομορφη οικογένεια που είστε χαίρομαι τόσο για σας να είστε καλα❤ συγχωρέστε με δεν ξέρω να γράφω αγγλικα
Always great to see your videos Kalle. Given life in the US today, Sweden is looking more appealing than ever.
You're more than welcome to come here Steve 😉❤️
Excited about your new series!!
Me too 😍
Love the photo on your book I am going to buy it soon as hits the uk 🇬🇧 😊
What a delightful cute baby with such a beautiful happy smile..
You are a beautiful family! Your little baby is so adorable and has the cutest smile.
Cook books and clothing just in time for Christmas
You might need to cut some of those trees too though, because veggies need a lot of sun and the trees provide a lot of shade still
Great cover picture !
Interesting point about clothes disrupting our bloodstreams, but I think the connection might be a bit more nuanced than that!
nuanced in what way? 😊
@@peregrinusfalco19 I do not have the energy to write a full thesis on it, in a youtube video. But yes, I fully agree with you! :) (Im not trying to be anoying, just wanted to imply that it is more complex then what was said in the video).
