When I was eight, I got hit in the forehead by a metal baseball bat. Ever since, I have problems with speaking (it takes me a moment to say something, sometimes) I get headaches every day, I get mood swings, I have trouble with my short-term memory, balance issues, and sometimes I come off as mean when I'm not trying to be, etc. The brain is one fragile organ.

No. I get light headed, but not all the time; I may get light headed one day in a week, and go like three weeks without further incident.

It's very painful, at times I feel like someone is squeezing my head while the other person is pulling the back of my head with serious neck pain, I've been trying so many things (medications) nothing work for like two years now, the doctor finally placed me on MRI scan but I don't have money for it, I pray and believe God heal me because am tired and frustrated 😢

I've had multiple concussions from football. Some of those concussions would double my vision to where my eyes felt crossed. It's not fun. And I hope I've fully recovered. It's been 7 years since I played ball but I do feel like my memory has gotten worse since that time

    • @arielbuik5684
      @arielbuik5684 4 ปีที่แล้ว +45

EJ S you probably has PCS like me. It’s ongoing and you’ll never fully recover. And yeah football players have reached 32 concussions just by the end of their careers. It’d be no surprise if you had more than five.

Ayyylien007 Sports. Wrestled played soccer. Women’s soccer is number one leading in concussions. And dudes like to pull illegal moves on girls when their winning on my team 😂. It’s very possible for high impact sports to have more than ten. 6 is probably an underestimate of how many. But I definitely had enough to screw me

May I suggest that he NEVER allow his head to get cold ?? Ever... in fact VIPER makes a $300 car starter that has never failed to start any of my three cars from inside the house. (8 years) I leave the heat on when I park, start the car before leaving the house by 20 minutes. Wear a very warm Tibogin and hat. If he has memory loss then he did damage . I'm telling you, I learned the hard way, DO NOT LET HUS HEAD GET COLD.

The brain is the most mysterious organ in the body. Think about it in comparison with technology. It can heal itself to a point. It controls everything in your body. It contains a lifetime of memories. It controls so many different things all at once. It can learn. It can solve problems on it's own. It never needs maintenance from outside. To build a computer with modern technology to do everything the human mind can, you would need a gymnasium, enough energy to run a small neighborhood and a cooling tower 4 stories tall. The brain does it for 2000 calories a day and needs 1-2 gallons of water per day to cool itself. Amazing what nature can build.

I was told by a neurologist that I have post traumatic concussion as I was hit by a bus in July last year and received a broken nose and right rib, a few weeks later I started suffering with tingling, prickling and burning on forehead along with pain behind eyes and nose with migraine. I'm still taking Lyrica and sodium valproate sandoz. it's strange how scans and tests come back normal but the feelings and pain is still there

Had a concussion a few months back while skiing, can confirm that it was not fun but I feel fine now. When it happened my sole complaint was that I felt really nauseous and continued to feel that way for a few days. Overall I was pretty much back to normal in 2-3 weeks aside from the physical effects of the accident.
Don’t worry about it, just take proper precautions when you’re doing risky activities and your risk of injury will be significantly reduced. For contrast if I had not been wearing a helmet I find it highly unlikely I would have survived or recovered fully. WEAR PROPER SAFETY EQUIPMENT PLEASE

I was diagnosed with TBI after a major fall. Hospitalization and PT followed. 4 years out and hanging in. I am sharing your presentation. It's technical without being overly so. My suggestion to the individual that describes symptoms is to look for help both in online forums and from a neurologist. Even with that, sometimes it's difficult to stay positive and upright. Best

I’ve had so much head trauma I’m so lucky that i’m actually a functioning human. NO joke! A tv has fallen on my face (when i was 2), I have fallen 4 feet onto my back and head and had someone come crashing down on me; their knee landed on my face (i was unconscious for a bit, but actually went home! ), been t-boned in a car accident, and just recently literally fell and landed forehead first on a dirt trail while hiking! The human body and brain is a mystery and a miracle as to how much it can take and then to heal itself, if able.

Someone suffered a much less painful motorcycle accident where he didn’t break anything but hit his head slightly different and he’s still in a coma. It’s been 5 years for him :( hopefully your grateful that your brain is alive and functioning.

If you are dealing with post concussion syndrome you should look into upper cervical care and get your neck corrected. The top bone the atlas weighs only about 2 ounces with no protective discs and can get knocked out of position. This causes inflammation and decreased blood flow through the brain stem which is the usually the real source of the issue. Anyway they adjust the atlas back it really helped me check it out.

May 2015 I was paint-balling with my friends for my birthday. During a game of Search and Destroy, I had to return a plastic cast to the opposing side's base to "destroy" it. As I ran from cover to deliver it, a paint-ball shot me directly in my right temple, where the standard mask doesnt protect. For 2 minutes I heard a ringing noise( exactly like when you get flashbanged in COD) and I became discombobulated and became dizzy and lose my balance. I now realize it was definitely a concussion.

This happened me in the school bathroom 2 months ago. I fell a couple minutes before home room, and in period 1 math class, I began shaking uncontrollably and heard high frequency noises. I had confusion and felt dizzy and I kept stumbling and stuttered in every word. I called home and told my dad I felt sick. This happened for a week and then I cried and felt so misunderstood. My parents thought I was being dramatic and only rung my bell. So later that day, I was taken to the doctor. They tested my memory and balance and coordination and asked me a few questions. My parents said I was acting strange all week and that’s a reason they took me in. Apparently I was given a doctors note, and was excused to stay home for a week. My ex texted me and said lots of people began to get really worried.
It’s been about 2 months now and I’m fully recovered.

I gave my friend a concussion when we were kids. At recess, he got two plastic sticks connected with a rope and pretended they were nunchucks. He showed off so much that I got jealous and pissed. I grabbed him by the shoulders and threw him on the desk. He hit the back of his head hard and forgot his address (temporarily). I was scared. Not only I hurt a friend without truly intending, but I was also very worried about him.
Our teacher threw me a glare without saying anything, and I was mocked for weeks. That doesn't matter though, what does is that my friend is alive and well. I'm sorry Max. 🙏💚

I had a few head traumas as a kid. Then I had a few serious illnesses that caused some brain damage. I have had to relearn how to read and write a few times. I still struggle at times. My time perception is off. I get overwhelmed and stressed quickly and easily. I can’t multitask. I have to make lists and double check everything frequently. Everyone gets frustrated with me because they accuse me of deliberately trying to be difficult and stress them out. Sometimes I just try to not say anything and see what happens, like I forget where we’re going even though I know I was told several times, but I don’t remember so I just stay quiet and see where we end up at. It’s so frustrating because I feel like everyone has an attitude like “you don’t understand how difficult it is to deal with your problems!” But nobody ever takes a moment to think about how difficult it is for me to cope with myself plus everyone’s attitude towards me because my brain doesn’t function right. I have improved quite a bit. I don’t remember a lot of things from the worst part of my illnesses. I only know what I was told by my family. At one point I was confusing things on tv with reality and getting confused about who people were and just talking complete nonsense. And I feel like a lot of people just gave up on me. That’s what is the worst part of a serious illness. It’s like most people think of illnesses like a cold and after a week or two you should be fine. With chronic illnesses people get tired of you not being well and they just abandon you like your not worth their time or effort to help you adjust and adapt to your new reality. And that’s what is more devastating than the illness/injury! I know that I have always been very loyal and committed to the people I love and I would do anything I could to help. Unfortunately it seems like most people don’t have the capacity to love anyone unconditionally. It’s like the people who abandon a pet because it gets old or puts an elderly relative into a nursing home and then forgets about them and never visits or calls. I don’t understand that mindset. How can you abandon someone you claim to love when they need you the most? It’s beyond cruel and heartless! And it’s completely devastating to the person that is already suffering beyond words! 😔

I heard that traumatic brain (craniocephalic trauma)injury is a disease caused by trauma to the head, which is an injury that causes the brain nerves to die and the brain rots over time, TBI is a disease that also occurs due to trauma and is worrying, and some killers well known in the United States, have been found with this disease, this problem.

So, you have an insanely uncontrolled rage, then you are isolated and desperate inside and some of the killers committed suicide, maybe because they didn't want to have done what they did, but in the moment of anger the mistake is made, but it's not protecting that mistake or some murderer who may have this problem, but sometimes there may be a murderer who really has this problem and a very bad heart too, but sometimes this problem takes away control of impulses making unexpected mistakes be made, this TBI problem it causes aging of the fast brain limiting many things and causing the person to fail by nature in common things and sometimes reacting unexpectedly by making mistakes, caused by traumas that elevate this serious problem, this is what i Mean to tell.

A traumatic brain injury, or TBI, is an injury that affects how the brain works. TBI is a major cause of death and disability in the United States. Anyone can experience a TBI, but data suggest that some groups are at greater risk for getting a TBI or having worse health outcomes after the injury.
