I have to say I prefer Mr. Oliver over so many other celeb chefs. He seems pretty darn down to earth. But thats just my opinion. Oh and btw....LOVELY! video :)
Jamie. Mate thats why i love your cooking and your style of cooking. No need for high tech equipment or high tech what what etc lol. you do it anywhere and in any way and still bring it to the table better looking than any high tech bla bla bla. you rock mate. God Bless
Perfect example that it is skills that count and not the cost of tools. Jamie are there any small sauces we can make with the cooking juices... I usually collect add lemon and pepper and sprinkle on top if steaks served
@therollingjonicle lol mustard's quite 'fiery' as he said an quite hot so he's saying that if your mother in law is quite annoying (as they usually are!) then give them the corner piece which he smothered with mustard! Lol :-)
Love Jamie! What happened to your "Jingle Guy! Tim Kay? LOVE his jingle in your 'naked daze' "Take time to ......" It's a great song! ".......in my world"
He's kind of right. All these shows apparently have a contract to promote olive oil. There are plenty of other kinds, many quite a bit more nutritionally valuable, but it's always the olive oil you hear about. Especially when frying, it doesn't matter much because to keep the high smoking point you'll go with refined oil, and those are pretty much all the same, be it sunflower, flax or olive, all the actually useful stuff is either gone or will be gone by the time food is done, it's only fat.
He could have lighten it with a vingerette - olive oil, water, lemon juice. (if he does not like salad dressings) Instead of dousing it with just pure oil. He does that EVERY SINGLE time.
this isnt about looking at what somebody would have on a normal bbq. its about making a steak sandwich and having the ingredients for it. pretty sure if you were to make a steak sandwhich you would take steak, condiments and vegetables.
I think people are overly concerned about germs sometimes, things like chicken do need to be paid attention to, making sure it's thoroughly cooked but a little bit a germs doesn't kill anyone usually, unless you are elderly or have a poor immune system.
Great no pretentions and you could not say there was any marketing or PR involved, he is sitting in a ditch. Great food and really great way of passing on his skills.
He used it to dress the salad, what else should he put? And with the meat, it really does keep it moist and if it's good quality, it's just the best possible complement to the flavour.
It's not blood. There's virtually no blood left in the meat, it's all removed during slaughtering. The juices are water, myoglobin and melted fat. Same thing when the meat is raw in the package the liquids are red because of the myoglobin. Its what makes red meat look red and its a different compound than hemoglobin (protein contained in blood) which it is related to.
Rob Warrilow There is still blood in it, but most of it is gone. if you've ever had chunks of blood come out of a roast and tried them (they go a kind of brown grey colour when cooked and pool under the roast) you'll know it tastes pretty foul by itself, but it adds iron to the meat and in small amounts is just fine.
***** There is no blood in it. The colour of the juice that you get in beef is red. Pork has no juice in it, if you notice in pork it's just pure pink when it is raw and pork chops are usually frozen dry also which means there can't be any juice. This is why I prefer beef, but I like pork as well if it's properly cooked.

You could do that or buy one from sainsburys
Just like Subway! :-D
I guess one of the reasons is for saftey, and i guess the heat becomes stronger and linger abit longer.
He could have lighten it with a vingerette - olive oil, water, lemon juice. (if he does not like salad dressings)
Instead of dousing it with just pure oil. He does that EVERY SINGLE time.
I... er... will just get a Subway.
"and if the ants don't get to it first...... bon appetit"

this isnt about looking at what somebody would have on a normal bbq. its about making a steak sandwich and having the ingredients for it. pretty sure if you were to make a steak sandwhich you would take steak, condiments and vegetables.
usually older people doesn't like hot food, so they get the corner with no hot mustard :)

I bet all you ever dream of eating for a nice dinner is toast and coffee...
Great sandwich!
But just to be clear, "juice" is just an euphemism for blood, right?
blood mixed with fat
It's not blood. There's virtually no blood left in the meat, it's all removed during slaughtering. The juices are water, myoglobin and melted fat. Same thing when the meat is raw in the package the liquids are red because of the myoglobin. Its what makes red meat look red and its a different compound than hemoglobin (protein contained in blood) which it is related to.
SST I'll use that the next time someone moans at dinner " it's still got blood coming out of it, its raw "
Thanks for that.
