There was never any doubt tbh by looking at the scenes, the re-animated Majin Vegeta vs Goku fight, the sharp long noses, angular eyes, and that cheek shading at times. Not to mention the animation itself was just like his scenes in Broly. I personally can't wait for him to be Chief Animation Supervisor in one of these episodes.
Glad to hear this. The movement of Goku blocking Vegeta’s blast reminded me big time of his work in Res ‘F’, with Gohan’s movement before blasting Freeza’a men.
Man it feels like coming back home, watching DBS weekly and getting to watch the breakdown the next day was one of my favorite experiences and I'm so happy I get to experience the same thing so many years later, glad to have you back Ajay!
Daima’s animation and designs look really good. Never thought I’d see the day where a Dragon Ball anime gets a more modern and quality animation series. As much as I enjoy the DBS movies and do think DBS Broly is peak animation for DB, nothing beats seeing a weekly animated show. Gone are the DBS anime days of short schedule days, rough animations, and reused bits. Also nice to see you back AJ, always enjoy your animation breakdowns.
grant that man his wish and let him remake dragon ball! imagine getting to watch the entire series in this gorgeous way... get new sub and dub voice actors to make things fresh and the fans can get used to a new cast for the franchise.
@@_pumpkin-pie I hope, because daima is a kid friendly anime (child designs cuz of the wish) to rope in new generation onto dragon ball as well And then when they get familiar with dragon ball, then a Z remake would make them catch up even more (ofc we will get Kubota amazingness) I think it fits
@@Gokenn7368 Screw Z, a remake would be the perfect opportunity to just get rid of the separation between the 23rd Budokai and Saiyan arcs. Just remake the whole thing from Pilaf to Boo as one single series.
@@omegalucasI kind of don't want a Z remake. It would ultimatly lead to nothing but updated animation. And considering Toei seemingly only goes for one DB thing at a time (If a movie just released, Daima wouldn't be airing), I feel like a DBZ Remake would be a waste of time. We would know exactly what would be happening, and it wouldn't have any charm besides the fact that animators put in a (likely) 7 year long effort to remake something so iconic. Although, I would like certain fights to get special reanimations. Maybe SSJ2 Gohan VS Cell, SSJ Goku vs Frieza, SSJ3 Goku and Vegeta VS Kid Buu, etc.
He's been a storyboarder, animator and supervisor on pretty much all things Dragon Ball Heroes since Super ended. He also appeared briefly on Dragon Quest Dai and in the Kitaro movie.
Man, you don't know how excited I am to have this back, Ajay. Not only do we have new Dragon Ball, but it comes with the best behind-the-scenes feature any intellectual property's fans could ask for. You actively make Dragon Ball more fun to watch and follow.
The visuals were the true highlight of the episode. It's not wrong to say that Daima is probably going to be the best that Dragon Ball has ever looked with the staff they got on board and it's solid production. The pacing of the episode itself though is another story.
God, I really like the majority of the design decisions regarding the cast as adults. I really hope designs like these or Shintani’s are the ones that we see for the next series where they will spend hopefully the whole thing as adults. They really got a dream team together for this.
8:40 I could be wrong but Naoyuki also worked on Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Phantom of Blood photography for Part 1. He really does some excelent job with the photography, which is always a must in the anime and can welcome the viewer to what's going on. Welcome back Ajay, i feel a bit nostalgic seeing your videos again, i guess it must because Dragon Ball is at the peak of its animation and Daima 1st episode being an an absolute buffet of animation. The Kobota animation was legit the most gorgeous animation i've seen, it looked like seeing the manga on screen and it would a shame if we dont get him someday being in charge of a reboot of the whole because of the outstanding work done for those flashbacks.
I'm glad to see you back making animation break downs again. I've missed them. There are so many animators I hope to see like Naotoshi Shida on the show
Thank you for returning. This channel taught me practically everything I know about how the anime industry works. I look forward to the new videos alongside Daima every week.
Welcome back man. You're the reason why I know a lot of the names who work on this franchise, so nice to see you coming back to breakdown a series that looks an absolute dream.
10:13 awww him getting invited by Kubota is so wholesome man, he really made his dream happen. It's good to hear you back after a long time, Ajay. Great analysis as always! Can't wait for your next ones as the episodes keep dropping in!
HE'S BACK!!! Never unsubscribed from the channel because I knew there'd be a time when you would be able to showcase your animation knowledge again. So thankful for your return, and I hope all is going well with you!
It's so great to learn all these details behind the production. Really puts into perspective how much love and care is put into this project. Fantastic work.
it's GOOD to have you back Ajay these breakdown are a god send for animation nerd and still full of surprised seeing name from people who work from many series that i love.
I'VE MISSED THESE!!! I remember watching super and the breakdowns after. Time for more memories to come! Love your work, your twitter be amazing and your art is amazing!!!
Ajay is back!! We are really back 😭 I missed your breakdows so much, good to see you again, Daima first episode was amazing and was wishing to listen to your thoughts on this and how far from super we've come:')
Ajay! Good to see you my lad! Kubota, goodness, it's almost ridiculous how lovely his work is here. That intro he did for Super Hero was amazing and having him back is absolutely wonderful. Ahhh! My dear Yamamuro! I hope he's enjoying his days of admiring architecture and building his own home, he's earned it! Still, it's actually quite sweet to see him here as well, even If only for a few moments. Him providing assistance/some KA here and there is a positive not a negative imo. It will be nice to see the shining talent of other animators as well In future episodes. With such a proper pre production, it's safe to assume we're in for a visual treat...and episode 1 confirms that. Cheers!
Honestly, the Majin Buu stuff was expected because Majin Buu was a being who could fight and absorb Gods and things like that where in the recent Moro Arc it showed that Kid Buu actually had God energy inside of him, and Majin Buu can mess up space and tear through dimensions, and a bunch of ridiculous things, so Majin Buu's body and magic and things like that separating fused characters, more so godly characters and techniques, is not that far fetched.
Great to have you back! Brings me back to watching an episode and then going straight to your breakdowns I was in middle school then, now I'm a senior in college
Yes. I've watched your series animation breakdown from what I remember from about DBS Super from ~episode 113, and viewed the other slightly older stuff as well in the past. I was a big DBS fan back then even. I've always liked your content. So very nice to see you back.
I missed you. You were the reason I started recognizing the styles of certain animators (mainly Shida). I'll look forward to your breakdowns just as much as the episodes themselves.
So great having Nakatsuru back as character designer and the animators getting the necessary pre-production time needed. Also awesome that many of the great talents from DBS and its movies get to flex their work without it looking so rushed.
Man, I've been waiting for the return of this serie and damn you delivered! I didn't notice how much time passed! Looking forward to your analysis after each Daima episode!

I am so glad to have a new upload from you Ajay! Informative and fun as usual, we are eating good as DB fans! First episode took my breathe away. RIP the legend Toriyama 💜🐉🟠💪
Loved watching your videos back in ~2018 - i haven't even seen a single entire episode of DBS except for maybe the first one, but so fun to learn about the production and artwork. Glad to have you back!!! DBD episode 1 was gorgeous and i am ecstatic to hear that the series production schedule is in a prime place to produce more like it!
Hey dude! Dunno if you’ll ever see this but I wanna give you the biggest thank you ever for the breakdowns you’ve made over the years.
