The fact that were missing almost the whole of DB is wild considering its a really good story and the OG

Like I tell everyone Dragonball does not and never will work in Tenkaichi. Dragonball characters don't make sense in such high speed crazy battles. I mean most of them can't even fly to begin with, with the exception of Goku on his flying nimbus.

The characters of the bardock squad are technically cannon. They appear for a few seconds on the background in the start of the Broly movie from super, during Freeza's first apperance.
I guess they aren't friends with Bardock in the cannon timeline or something.

Toyotaro drew a side panel where it is confirmed that they were part of his crew and they died in the same way but the difference being Bardock wasn't with them at that time

I don't think anyone really need "Baby Goten" or "Baby Gohan" cause they weren't any different from their regular GT versions and could be easily simulated by using regular versions. I mean custom missions even let you create dialogues for them. Everything else i 100% agree. It's about time Ledgic, Rildo and weaker dragons get some recognition in games.

It would be really interesting to be able to play as Kami-Sama and King Kai (even though he never fought, he was a playable character in the Nintendo DS game called "Dragon Ball Kai: Ultimate Butōden", so it would be possible to get references for a moveset from there). Both of them already have 3D models in Sparking Zero, so the devs just need to make them playable.
I would also really like to see Dercori and Heles from Super.

@@MartyN2A Dercori is the fighter who was defeated by Master Roshi in the TOP, who could create illusions, fought in the darkness and was eliminated by Mafuba. Heles is the goddess of destruction who looked like an Egyptian queen.
Finally, some Oceanus representation! Oto was the only fem fetal in GT but she had some pretty unique techniques for the only gal we got since Zangya.

There's a severe lack of DB-exclusive characters. Nail is a BT soul pick and gives the game its own identity, but we could've also gotten a King Piccolo that transforms into his younger form or something

Why tho? They have different attacks and skills, Goku and Vegeta are the main characters so I more than expected a quarter of the roster to be them two. Also if early z goku wasn't his own character, I guarantee 99% of ppl would give them shit for that, me included

I don't get what you're asking, there are a lot of different characters in the game with different attacks and ways of attacking (I know the combos are the same)

The worst thing is all the dlc so far from what i could tell are ALL going to only be Daima and Super characters which i literally care not one bit about. I miss Kid goku, arale, mercenary tao, general blue, devilman, the various shenrons and super 17. So many characters they missed out just to put int more versions of goku/vegeta and super characters :(

For some reason, Kid Chi Chi is high on my list (give her an unbockable axe thingy super and a weaker beam super that shoots from her helmet, like shown in her first scene). But adult Chi Chi would be a neat and "new" addition, too. Arale, despite being more of a meme character, would be a cute throwback. Other female characters like Zangya and Fasha are missing. Not that female players are a major demographic for this game, but I feel like female characters could get a better representation. Excluding Arale, I feel like most of them would be good targets for lower DP. There are too few 2-4 DP characters in this game, that's why DP-Battles can feel stale, despite the most recent patch making things a lot better (moving away from 4-5 character teams to mostly 3 character teams).
Oh and nice mentioning Salza! Cooler and Ginyu already have interactions regarding Ginyu Force/Armoed Squad. To actually have him back sounds good.
The helmet blade should home in on the opponent slightly and return to Chi-Chi like a boomerang if it misses at first.

To be fair don't remember right now how visible the Moon is in every night map but it would be interesting that all of them were missing (basically implying Piccolo destroyed it before the fight) so the character still had to throw the ki ball.

To me my biggest disappointment in lack of characters was them not adding the entire t.o.p roster they couldn't even make half, especially hearing they had 5 prior years working on it, I get 80 fighters is alot and maybe 10 get off screened eliminated but not even half of the fighters in top?! Pride troopers, robots, and not a single fighter from U4 or U10 (even tho they literally npc ahh fighters) STILL they all have cool unique abilities yk

Honestly, im not missing any of the characters they removed since bt3 except for king vegeta and fasha. I d argue that it s a shame they took away every great ape transformation except for vegeta. It was a great concept but they really wanted only canon stuff this time i guess( although kid goku did transform in manga and anime) . From your list gt vegeta would have been a due addition, but i bet they decided not to add him because there would not have been enough material to build a moveset for base and ssj and frankly i d rather have it this way than having gt vegeta being too similar to his other versions.

0:57 Do we really need meteor combination? You can pretty much do it already, minus the starting pose, just charge heavy smash boost up and kamehameha, I do it all the time for style points! Edit: I labbed it out, its a true combo the most I got was 30 hits, I used the directional attacks to, and it works for all the base gokus just make sure you boost up high enough and don’t hold the beam in

i feel like flying in these games is always the main mechanic keeping a lot of the og cast out. no one can really fly until the end and it would kinda be silly to have everyone flying around in jet packs even if it dosent make sense for the character to be doing so but king piccolo has no excuse to not be there

My three choices would be Great Saiyaman 2 (Videl), Golden Oozaru, and for the fun of it Emperor Pilaf. Just him. Maybe have some fun and take his moveset from the live action movie "Dragon Ball: Son Goku Fights, Son Goku Wins (1990)" from South Korea. Kami might be a fun pick.

Im talking about her Heat Punch she uses on Nam in the same fight. She could inexplicably heat up her fist and burn people. She uses it once and gets knocked out but it’s rare to see an explicitly elemental attack in canon dragon ball that wasn’t simply electric energy.
I want every character in dragonball through to dragonball super in this game eventually! I know its selfish and probably unrealistic but im so happy budokai is revived and i wanna enjoy it to its fullest! Also this may be wishful thinking, but i reckon the reason super 17 hasnt been added is because they plan a new custom story with him as the main villain in a future dlc! I have high hopes

Bro they needa put Demon King Piccolo andnTambourine in this game. He is the most intelligent, competant villain in the whole series. Don't sleep on Tambourine, man. He's done crazier shit than all of frieza's men combined. He killed a main character, beat Goku, and killed almost every single martial artist. He is the most competant, effective henchmen unless u count Nappa as a henchman (which I don't)
