  • Adobe Lightroom vs the free Photoscape X. This video is just scratching the surface of the question between PhotoScape X and Adobe.

    Should I make a part 2?

I'm a bit familiar with Photoshop and Lightroom, but I think PhotoScape X brings the best of both of those 2 programs into 1 easier to use (IMHO) program. Admittedly, you're not going to have the more advanced features of both, but if you're a hobbyist photographer and not a pro, I don't think you can go wrong with PhotoScape.

I completely agree. Photoshop is so overwhelming for the average Joe that many just never try. Lightroom on the other hand is fairly simple to approach but it doesn't include so many of the editing features that are needed to make things like TH-cam thumbnails, banners etc

@@BriNathanCollins Photoscape absolutely can do those things (even on the free version). I create graphics and banners from scratch all the time. Just create a new item, punch in your desired graphic size, and start creating.

Would like to see in Photoscape the combination of holding the Alt-key in combination with the sliders for Highlights, Shadows, White's and Black's.
This way, you see to where you have to pull the sliders visually. Also for the sharpening tool...or do I miss something here...?

I'll look into that and see what I can find.

It is not a matter of money. I was a Lightroom/PShop subscriber for 4 years and the LR catalog drove me mad. PhotoShop too difficult to learn and you have to respect the order of the layers and not make any error....So I cancelled my subscription and found Photoscape X. So easy, so pleasant to use (thanks to your videos I must say). LR is not good when you have something to remove, PShop is better for that purpose. With a few euros for the duplication tool of Photoscape X, it changed my life. I also use Luminar (4 and now Ai) and I am satisfied with that. Photoscape X has a lot of funny features, many possibilities for texts and collages which LR does not have. I am finished with LR/PShop, the dinosaurs. Maybe good for professional photographs, not me.

i cant find a way to edit all photos, and then export them all into a folder on photoscape x, is there a way so that i dont have to save it before moving to the next photo?

If you're looking at editing all your photos at once you could look at my video on batch editing. If you're looking into how to save photos I would encourage you to look at my video on how to save project photos in Photoscape X.
Hopefully those videos will be helpful and let me know if you have any further questions

@@BriNathanCollins what i mean is, is there a way to have the same workflow as lightroom? because batch editing on photoscape x will not let me individually edit the photos, it does the same thing to all photos, i am trying to edit each individually and then at the end, export them all at once, instead of saving one by one as i edit, because i want to look over them all before exporting, but photoscape wont let me keep editing photos without saving them, and saving the photo as a project is honestly annoying. so is there a way to make it work like lightroom?

@@henriquemiranda5748 The only other option would be to have multiple tabs of Photoscape X open at the same time. If it's that much of a pain in your workflow I would probably recommend you using Lightroom.

Because of the cost savings and ease-of-use, I’ve used PhotoScape X for almost all my photo editing needs over the last few years.
