Sir Richard Attenborough told a story about Olivier at a talk he gave at the Bsrbicon in the "80s. He said he ran into Olivier at the studio and he was despondent. He had started rehersals for The Prince and the Showgirl and he said Monroe couldn't act, she was awful, he didn't understand how she had gotten as far as she had. A few weeks later. Jennifer Gray and Patrick Swayze had issues on Red Dawn. When they were cast for dirty dancing. The Director made the two of them go talk to each other privately. They needed to resolve whatever issue they had. Apparently they were gone for quite some time and came out in tears, but had worked everything out. There were some assumptions made by both parties about the other, and they cleared the air. That was all before filming started.
Having Cybill Shepard and Bruce Willis, as well as Dustin Hoffman and Meryl Streep, be at odds on set perhaps worked to their movies' advantage, since they were playing an On/Off Couple and a divorcing couple, respectively.

Red Dawn was 3 years before Dirty Dancing and Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey became very good friends and she was heartbroken when he died. But when cast in Dirty Dancing they didn’t get along.
Wow. That's wild, but at least they were able to put their differences aside to find common ground before he died. It's been 15 years since this man died.
They didn’t get along in Red Dawn- or should I say she didn’t like him. She cried the first day of dirty dancing filming bc she didn’t want to film with Swayze. He pulled her into a room to hash it out and apologized for red dawn. She accepted and they ended up getting long, tho he frequently got a little irritated at her during filming. Normal stuff. I'm beginning to think Dakota Johnson is the source of her issues with co-stars. She said her younger co-stars in her recent movie "annoy" her and she delivers it all in a deadpan voice.
Johnson is not a huge star and o, if she bad mouthed ppl, she would not get all the roles she has been getting. If there were any " issues" it's that Johnson does not put up with crap. Mental health has been changing over the years. The difference is the term "alcoholic" becomes the identity of the person. Now, mental health wants people to not view themselves as the actual problem but rather as a real person with a disorder. Example: We no longer call a person schizophrenic but rather a person who has schizophrenia. A person is not bipolar but rather a valuable human with worth who has bipolar disorder. The subtle change in language offers hope that the disorder is not the identity or the life of a person, especially in recovery. It means the disorder does not have to be all the person is, and that means the person can have a manageable future. It will take time to change in society, but it gives back some dignity to a person who is struggling. The struggle is real.

Bogart, like Mick Jagger, and a few others, transcends conventional notions of attraction. Like the Harley riders say, if I have to explain it, you'll never understand.
Michael Douglas and Gwyneth Paltrow..she publicly dissed the idea that a forty year age difference could work. Douglas wasnt impressed, obviously. Joan Collins has spoken about Jon Forsythe, and he never spoke to her again outside of work...at the Emmy's, on stage the statue was handed to Joan (the closest femal cast member and the most famous cast member) John resented it as he had top billing...fragile ego. Joan is very funny, naturally
Sean Young has a reputation for being a serious loon. Apparently she was very difficult to work with. So the animosity between her and Harrison is understandable. Natalie Wood had a rep for not being the most mature person in the room.

Are you kidding me they were a part of that Danny Masterson abuse of young children. Look at Ashton's trouble in the past with the girl that was murdered in LA.
Pierce Brosnan's excuse sounds like a complete cop-out. How would you NOT notice your lead co-star'd pregnancy? Maybe not in the first couple months of shooting, but eventually the baby bump would've been obvious. It's not like this was the "wham-bam, thank-you, ma'am" filming approach that the director of Donnie Darko adapted. This was (presumably) a much longer process...or am I just being too harsh on him?
Yes. You are (I say that out of buddyness). It's only the first few months when you have morning sickness anyway and the actress is so slender, it probably wasn't apparent she was pregnant yet.
I think you are being too harsh on Bronsan. He is well- known to be an excellent husband and father. No scandals . His first wife died of cancer, leaving him to raise their 2 kids. His only daughter later died of cancer. He is raising his 3 boys with his second wife, Keely. A genuine family man. I didn't show for 4 months. How could he have known if she didn't tell him? Actresses are dressed to hide the bump .
So many mistakes in chapter titles in the timeline. Mickey Rooney (Rourke), Heidi Seinfeld (Swedberg), Syil Shepard (Cybill Shepherd) and on and on...plenty more.
I'm not sure who would be the perfect cast8ng for Dr. Doom. But since RBJ read for Doom way back before playing Iron Man, how awesome would it be if he came back to play that role now. If they can recast Chris Evans and Josh Brolin to play multiple characters, why can't Robert Downey Jr? Another good actor would be Adam Driver because he can play dark roles.
Me either. If Leo had a silly fun side, what business was it of Danes? Leo, as usual, delivered a stand out performance. I have no patience for ppl like Danes. Who consider themselves so important that everyone else should have the same attitude as they do.
I get the reference. But, someone who thinks everyone has to think like them (Danes), is too old for anyone. Danes should never be in a movie with Clooney, Damon, or Pitt. They are notorious pranksters. Julia Roberts just gave it back to them and laughed. Apparently Roberts doesn't take herself as seriously as Danes does .😮

Dakota Johnson is so boringgg to watch. That monotone voice, blech.
Sorry, Bogie, but Lauren Bacall could *_never_* have played Sabrina!
then who could
@@jimbo9208That would be the lovely actress who did: Audrey Hepburn.

Wow! X-FILES will never be the same 😮😂
To be honest, I thought _The X-Files: Fight the Future_ wasn’t the greatest era of the franchise.
@@Jeremiah_Rivers76 They bounced back with the great season 5.
Almost all of these can be boiled down to male ego vs women just being in the entertainment industry.
23:50 Olivier's "Be sexy" in Prince...Showgirl shoot came *early;* Marilyn felt her acting derided as shtick. (She was even producer.) Olivier later credited her radiance🤩; he's dry and wooden.
He was supposed to be dry and wooden. It was the character.
I suspect that after a while Olivier realized that Monroe had mental health issues as his late wife Vivian Leigh ( undiagnosed bipolar) did and he became more kind .
Ashton and Mila surprised me a bit. They're inseparable now.
Well they were kids 😅

What about paul reiser and helen hunt? Heard they werent friends in real life during their show mad about love
Do you mean “Mad About You?”
#16 was so well documented that even though it was an adult show, it was referenced in a movie that appealed/appeals to children.
...
#16 is "Moonlighting" & was mentioned in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles".
I was surprised to see two Canadians, Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, not get along! SO unCanadian !😅😅
how anyone thought bogart was attractive is beyond me.
He did not fit that role at all. I thinking Rock Hudson would of been the better choice he was gorgeous
Back then actresses would very often work with actors considerably older and yes was Bogart was not handsome. I never found Lauren Bacall attractive either.
@@paulmicheldenverco1i agree
some of marilyns husbands were dogs
Bogart, like Mick Jagger, and a few others, transcends conventional notions of attraction. Like the Harley riders say, if I have to explain it, you'll never understand.
Most surprised by the Notebook characters 😢
Michael Douglas and Gwyneth Paltrow..she publicly dissed the idea that a forty year age difference could work. Douglas wasnt impressed, obviously.
Joan Collins has spoken about Jon Forsythe, and he never spoke to her again outside of work...at the Emmy's, on stage the statue was handed to Joan (the closest femal cast member and the most famous cast member) John resented it as he had top billing...fragile ego. Joan is very funny, naturally
David duchovny & gillian Anderson
25:52 -- more like the best of frenemies, like Spock and Bones from Star Trek.
It's hard to know how credible the source was, but Mila confirmed it? Um...I'd say that means the source was very credible 😂
Sean Young has a reputation for being a serious loon. Apparently she was very difficult to work with. So the animosity between her and Harrison is understandable.
Natalie Wood had a rep for not being the most mature person in the room.
I’m surprised they picked her pairing with Harrison Ford over James Woods, as the latter sued her for stalking and lost.
Sean Young is still a lunatic today. Totally cray-cray.
You forgot about Bette Davis and Joan Crawford. You know the movie that they did?😅
They played sisters, this one was about onscreen 'couples'.
Number 1 has to be Johnny Depp and Amber Heard or at least Top 5
They never hated each other on set. The Run Diary was where they met each other and then dated.
They obviously more than got along the one time they shared screen time. That is how they met after all.
Ryan and Rachel dated for "a bit"?? Try over 4 years and long after they had broken up he called her the greatest love of his life
in several interviews! Get your facts straight, lots of these are untrue for one reason or another!!
Walter Mathau would not have been my choice for that role in Hello Dolly. No chemistry. Kim Basinger's and Merrill Streep's treatment was harassment and unprofessional. Would those men allow themselves to get the same? Including the director.
I've worked with Jason Lee, Alyssa Milano and Jason Priestly all of whom are difficult, overly privileged, egotistical Wannabe Actors, so I guess they all deserve each other 😅
*William [Frawley played “Fred Mertz” on **_I Love Lucy)_* had an _”alcohol use disorder?!”_ Do you mean to say that he was an alcoholic?
Addictions are mental health disorders, since addiction impacts brain chemistry and requires medical intervention.
Why does the wording bother you so much. Get a life.
He was an alcoholic and so was Desi , Lucy had a gambling addiction, boy that set must have been hectic.😅
Yes
Welp, this is no different than the rest of us. We work with people we don’t like everyday. We are paid to be around people we don’t know for 8+ hours a day. And we have to get along for the work to get done effectively. That check unites and divides.✌🏿
None of them, I knew about most of them penny Marshall and Cindy Williams didn’t like each other and I told my sister while watching it, she asked e how I knew and it was so obvious to me by the way they were with each other, I could just tell, I guess Bogart and Hepburn in Sabrina, never thought Bogart was small like that, it’s not her fault Lauren Bacall didn’t get the part, maybe she wanted someone else for playing Linus instead of Bogart, but I doubt it, she’s not known for being a Diva, only once did she walk off a movie and I can’t say I blame her, she sang all day trying to improve and at the end of the day , the Producer decided to go with a woman who sang for Natalie Wood in “ West side story “ and others, but she was mad that they had her sing all day, just to say…no we’ll get seemed like it was just a waist of time.
Julian and David got over it they made the X files movie
Someone didn't like Shannen Doherty? Sincerely shocked!
They were all great actors and actresses because the movie portrayed them as loving partners. Hard to fathom them they actually disliked each other. Kinda burst my bubble. 😥
I’m sorry but that’s hilarious to think of having to go to couples counseling for a relationship that doesn’t actually exist.
Couples counseling isn't just for romantic couples. It's useful for anyone in an established relationship that has problems, be it romantic, friendship, or work.
I was not surprised by any, simply a bit sad about Nathan Fillion and his beautiful co star. They made such a lovely couple. Castle was one of my favorite programs. 🌹
Sharon Stone is a very egotistical narcissist. Very cruel and sadistic to bite William's tongue. 💔😢
I never liked her. 🥀🙏🥀
I’m really surprised about Richard Gere and Debra Winger…..An Officer and a Gentleman is one of my favourite movies and I thought that they had great chemistry in that movie…..I guess acting isn’t as easy as it looks!
The title says movie couples. And yet, this video covers film and tv couples
Agreed. This video should change the title slightly from Movie couples to On-screen couples
They changed the title, I guess.
Thanks Watchmojo for title change
Natalie Wood wanted then boyfriend Warren Beatty to play Tony in WWS, but they opted for for Richard Bremer. Thats why she was cold towards him.
VENOM had the writer from 50 SHADES OF GREY (who is also directing VENOM 3)
MORBIUS had the writers from GODS OF EGYPT (Who are also behind MADAME WEB)
And KRAVEN THE HUNTER has the writers from TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT

Um you could've named Top 30 Movie and TV Couples Who Hated Each Other In Real Life cause there's some TV shows on the list.
Goldeneye was his biggest role at the time. He probably had high expectations from everyone and himself doing the sequels.
Teri Hatcher was also hated by other women on "Desperate Housewives." She is reportedly very arrogant.
@@RebekahCurielAlessi You are right. Thank you for your honesty. My apologies, everyone.
What is up with the audio quality? It keeps changing throughout the video.
Mila kunis and ashton Kutcher went through the whole enemies to lovers arc and it's sweet
So many mistakes in chapter titles in the timeline. Mickey Rooney (Rourke), Heidi Seinfeld (Swedberg), Syil Shepard (Cybill Shepherd) and on and on...plenty more.
To sum up the whole list....20:16
23:48😮 oh sh××.....does this mean I need to worry about THE ROOKIE too
Sure they hated each other. But it made the movie even better. And the movies end up being great movies. ✌️❤️.
I consider Stana Katic the problem.
Lucy Lawless and Kevin Sorbo?
I never knew about Leo and Claire even though they had so much chemistry. Well you learn something knew everyday.
Me either.
If Leo had a silly fun side, what business was it of Danes? Leo, as usual, delivered a stand out performance.
I have no patience for ppl like Danes. Who consider themselves so important that everyone else should have the same attitude as they do.
I am shocked at Natalie Wood and Richard Bemmer.
Ha hahaha 😆😅🤣 Audrey Hepburn was right for the part.
If all these stories are true then they are excellent actors.
I think Danes was just too old for DiCaprio 😂
I get the reference.
But, someone who thinks everyone has to think like them (Danes), is too old for anyone.
Danes should never be in a movie with Clooney, Damon, or Pitt. They are notorious pranksters. Julia Roberts just gave it back to them and laughed.
Apparently Roberts doesn't take herself as seriously as Danes does .😮
I think Leo didn't like Claire bcuz she doesn't look like a model.
I will guarantee Kirk was not raised as an atheist. He likely was raised either less religious or just simply without religion. People like him like to conflate the two. An atheist generally is someone who has rated the claim of a god and simply concludes I don’t believe that claim because of the lack of evidence
Kirk Cameron--- yuchh! Nobody likes a holier than thou.
