Sand Hollow Plan B // Body Damage And Rattled Nerves!!

- In this one I take my solid axle swapped FJ Cruiser on Plan B in Sand Hollow Utah! I'm joined by Zaven in his 2015 Jeep JKU on 40 inch tires. Plan B is definitely a fun trail, especially if you aren't afraid of heights and rolling off of cliffs. Heights and cliffs are my kryptonite... So I had a great time!
“Another tail light” lolololol. And “My arm is tired from hanging on to the door”, so awesome. Thanks for sharing. Good Monday morning stuff.
I was hanging on for dear life 😆
Can’t believe 40s now look small, another great trail
His helmet was hilarious. Nothing like a Monday morning with my coffee and one of my favorite hub’s
Safety first! Thanks for watching!
Right on to him, anything with a roll cage should be driven with a helmet really. I'd hate to bash bare skulled into a piece of tube!
Agreed ☕️
@@chrisluce6614 to be clear I wasn’t knocking him for the helmet. Just wasn’t expecting to all of a sudden seeing him in a skateboard helmet.
@@chrisluce6614 we had a guy roll his Jeep this week and he had to get stitches in his head after hitting his roll cage. I've never seen anyone else wear a helmet, but it's not a bad idea!
Great Vid ......The new mate Zaven had a great shots on your rig and lines ..... Great times and some trail rush ...Cheers
I hope Zaven can make more appearance on your channel while you're in that area, he has an awesome Jeep and did you no wrong in those sketchy spots you kept finding yourself in. I have a question regarding your build, have you had any issues with limp mode or anything other than not having your abs working properly? Thanks for another great video, Ken, cheers.
Zaven is awesome, and you'll see him again on Thursday! No issues with any kind of limp mode.
@@offroadhub.official Awesome, thanks, Ken.
@@offroadhub.official I’m going to leave this one alone…😂
@@DUNEATV 🤣
@@johndoughboy6930 Lol! You know!
Sadly my first visit to sand hollow I only had time for a couple features and to run Plan B!! First time getting to crawl my xj! No sliders or lockers in 33s and it ran it all clean!! Tilt ‘a whirl and the weird section after next to the cliff def got the heart racing!! Since I don’t have lockers I had to take the right line where that Jeep rolled and had a bit of a hard time with those lil ledges. Def had to sack up and give er the beans! Mad props on taking such a wide ride on there!
@@the_fractured_mind awesome! I really enjoy that trail!
Makes my palms sweaty just watching. I'm with you, I don't like the off camber stuff. Thanks for sharing.
Loved this video Zaven!! I was on the edge through several parts of the video. Great collaboration Ken, good luck and best to you for future adventures!!
Great video and great rigs. That broken taillight came out of nowhere, nothing Javen could about it.
Thanks! Yes it was impossible to see coming.
Another awesome video. Jealous I couldn't be there this year. Zaven seems like a awesome guy to wheel with. I know the feeling on those off camber obstacles, its my kryptonite too. Again, Thanks for the video and be safe
Good to see Zaven commit & keep on the throttle when getting onto a climb. Shows confidence. Nice Jeep too. I didn't know anyone was able to fit 40's onto a JK.
Zaven knows his Jeep very well. And there are endless JK's on 40's! 😀
Making it easy to change your bulbs, I love it!! Great video Ken !!
Love the channel great contact keep it up let me know when your ready to take on a new build I will make it worth your time
What do you have in mind? 😀
@@offroadhub.official well I have have a Jeep xj that I would like to put Frame stiffeners on an Iron Man fab 4link kit as well as some Fusion fabricated axles on coil overs
@@pointblankyt9878 I need to get a shop... 😄
@@offroadhub.official I’m in the same boat no shop well if you think you have the means let me know I think you are more then capable thank you
You did it and returned for more ! No doubt your left arm has X2 muscle then your right.
“Hang” in there Ken, great video and performance, thanks for the post !
Thanks Jey! 😄
@@offroadhub.official you bet, my friend ! Enjoy it out there.
Awesome video! Zaven did awesome job spotting and driving. Man you didn’t have much room on that shelf road ☠️
Thanks, Ken and Zaven, for another great video. I have a similar reaction to off camber trails that lean towards a drop off. I guess I need to go offroad more often.
Can't wait for the motor swap. Thanks for another great video sir
The engine is doing fine! No swap in the plans... Now a cage, yes!
Nice one.... I wish you guys would have taken that steep one with the holes. I think you could have hooked up the winch to something over the top to keep from flopping backward. Maybe not, I don't know. You are the one's there making the assessment. But still another good trail even without that one obstacle.
Buggies have trouble with it. If we winched up it wouldn't really be making it up. Better to live for another trail! 😄
@@offroadhub.official I mean have the winch tied off but don’t use unless you’re about to flop.
This channel has put me on the fence to sell the FJ and get a Jeep... SAS would be nice but I don't have the time, money, welder, etc. Seems like a newish Jeep would be a good switch.
If you can swing the Rubicon model you will be really happy! Bought my 2021 a year ago…
If you want to do some rock crawling, a Jeep Wrangler is your best bet out of the box.
@@offroadhub.official yea I wish I had gotten one of those to begin with, I just wonder about reliability..
@@dirttales you can do a lot of off roading in a pretty plain FJ. Take a look at my early videos. I just had an itch to drive over even bigger rocks!
@@offroadhub.official I've been watching your channel from the start and I'm still only on stock tires so I would need a regear and bigger tires just to get to that level. I just tried to do Chinaman gulch again yesterday and it was just hell so I turned around again.. Jeeps walked right up passed me no problem.. I'm bored with the trails the FJ can do, and its not really ideal for high speed stuff without dumping a butt load of money into it so I'm kinda at a dead end with it..
Thanks Ken, I know the feeling or rubbing the door and breaking tail light. Good stuff!!
😆 that's right!
super great video. Pretty scary in parts
Litebrite did that trail in a stock ‘21 Bronco a few weeks ago. Looks like a fun trail.
Yes, there are lots of line options 😄
Sucks about the tail-light though! That rock was hell bent at getting your rig! Lol
Hey brother, great videos! Keep em coming
Awesome Monday, vid. If you ain't banging into things, you ain't wheeling, right? Good spotting work by both of yall! Im sure those passengers side views are awesome yet those 1000 ft drops "puckering."
Has it warmed up there, yet?
Things happen when you're driving over giant rocks! 😄 It's about 60 in the afternoons and 30 at night pretty consistently right now.
The "offroad" version of the tail light lenses don't stick out as much. You might want to try those.
Time for some flush mount tail lights!
@@offroadhub.official Maybe you can convince Utah Yota to start making them again.. I know they'd sell like hot cakes!
@@offroadhub.official Yeah, you only crunched it by an inch.
@@chrisluce6614 that's where I'm going 👍😀
@@offroadhub.official maybe you could convince him to make 2 sets :)
Hola desde Chile mi amigo!!!
Felicitaciones un muy buen proyecto seguí todo el cambio.
Me queda una duda modificaste el motor??? Cuentame Saludos.
I can't speak Spanish, but I think you asked if I had made any engine modifications. The engine and transmission are unmodified.
you need a new spotter! Might be time for warrior products low profile taillights too
Zaven was great! I'm going with something better than Warrior!
Did this last year w the bronco group. Lost 2 to breakages. Nerve racking. Need to have built rigs.
It's a really fun trail though!
Regarding the obstacle that they bypassed: when that guy who is an excellent driver in a capable vehicle felt like putting on a helmet....that says it all...
@@jeffkaupke safety first! 😉
What a hairy trail! You're right about that 30fps. Definitely dont need to have anything higher for wheeling. What setting did you have your stabilization on? That was perfect! Also, Looked like your lens was set on Linear?
My standard setting is 4k 24fps linear with hyper smooth on high.
Did you call Matt's Offroad Recovery! 😂
Nah, they were too scared to come with us.
So you found a new camera man on 40’s….I see how it is! 🤔
😆😆 Zaven is great!
@@offroadhub.official He seemed really cool! Nice Jeep too! Was he on stock axles?
Making it look easy again!
Come hang out in Sand Hollow this week and at koh next week! 😄
@@offroadhub.official Would if I could. Heading down to the Mill to help out for a few weeks. Will be down at Sand Hollow late Feb early March.
You should host some rides by level
I've got to learn these trails better first, but I'd love to!
Just a couple of guys crawling around.
Check out the new 2023 fj on TH-cam looks awesome
✌️👍
Those damned FJ tail lights! What the hell was Toyota thinking?
😆😆
That whole trail would not be my cup of tea.
