I then took it outside, smashed the circuit boards with a hammer, drilled holes through as much of it as I could, poured a litre of bleach and a tub of salt into it and then drove over it with my car a few times. I felt better.
@@MixingSneaX There’s a small standoff screw that’s supposed to go between the mobo and the screw you use to screw in the M.2. It makes sure that the drive is flat and doesn’t get bent when you screw it in.
Nice video but my OCD forces me to tell you the NVME is wrong and you can see because was bent, this drives should never bend. The last nvme standoff is taller, you should have used that one (swapped) to screw the drive. the rest of the video is veeery nice and well explained.

Relaxing, but 3:29 made me wince. He needed to use a spacer between the screw hole and the SSD (should have come with the motherboard). The bend on that SSD could cause issues, and it also means there will not be good contact between the SSD and heat sink.

I started with my processor (Ryzen 5 3600XT) the first month, then bought the motherboard (MSi MAG B550M Mortar), ram (Crucial Ballistix RGB 16GB @3200mhz) and boot/root drive (Corsair MP510 240GB M.2 NVMe) the second month. I’ve had to buy a weak, stopgap GPU (GT 1030) just to get video out while I wait to afford a 1660 Super, and I’m picking up my case (undecided for now), power supply (Corsair RM650) and a 2TB hard drive for my home partition. As you can see, I’ve been buying the parts over roughly 3 months because I couldn’t afford it all at once, so maybe that’s a viable option for you, too; even if you have to buy a single component per month. Plan out the build, then buy a part each month until it’s complete. You’ll get there.
