Well done to all the rescue team and fabulous use of drone technology, I know first hand how scary it can be if you go slightly wrong on Great Gables Napes.
Oh good god, how on earth did they get themselves into that position?! Only proper climbers would go anywhere near there. It is going to be a long Summer for MRT.
I'm pretty sure that wasn't the plan... Or was it? After all, everyone who gets rescued off the crags seems to get free pizza. I may go and get cragfast myself 😂
have to be honest Jo . walked and done a bit of scrambling in wasdale and other parts of the lake district for years and more than once bit off more than i could chew but managed to get out of it Luckily ! but you do learn from them experiences. so thankful we have the mountain rescue who are all volunteers and rely on public donations. take care my friend
@@gnrtn9184 I have to admit I came of GG the wrong way once, got down much faster than intended 😟 But where these guys ended up was straight off the Wasdale Head side near the Napes which is pretty sheer, you can see that from the top. But I appreciate that by the time you realise it is the wrong way you can't go back up. MRT are incredible, I have nothing but admiration for them.
Mountain rescue are phenomenal! I think anyone who enjoys the mountains etc should make a monthly donation to their local rescue. Heroes 🙌🏻
Well done to everyone involved. ❤️ The drone is certainly a handy tool to have, giving a better idea of the job in hand.

Always amazed by the rescue writeups, seeing this footage is just fantastic. Quite a staggering undertaking for volunteers, well done all involved!
Well done fellas
9 hours!! ?
Why didn't they just go back up
Yeah I don't understand... I guess both got petrified because of the steepness and refused to move from the spot they were at for fear of falling
I don't think the video does justice to how steep it is. Hence why the rescue team have to abseil down

@@beatbasher I am sure it wasn't but I would like to think I would have turned back before I got there. Easily said though.

Lots of people try to that way, to see the Needle.
Look everyone! The rescue services wear helmets why aren't more of you?
