It had a lot to do with the way he played. The guy is uniquely good. I've never seen a player so patient and composed in this game. From what I've seen most people just misplay, because it's kinda hard to play perfect in this game. Or they play like a typical meta player with run of the mill meta strats, which makes them predictable.
You should host a tournament where folders are locked into a single element for damaging chips, it could be interesting to see what elemental benefits people prioritize and how they build their decks to fully leverage those or counter others.
Im curious what the reason was for banning all defensive chips for that tournament was. My only guess was so that games go quicker, but it really does allow for more degeneracy
