Ayanna Williams had been growing her nails for over 25 years but she finally decided it was time for the ultimate manicure.
Measured at a final length of 733.55cm (24ft 0.7in), Ayanna holds the current record for the longest fingernails on a pair of hands (female) - a record title she has held since 2017.
Dr. Allison Readinger of Trinity Vista Dermatology in Forth Worth, Texas, USA, was the dermatologist in charge of the cutting; admitting it was her first time doing a procedure on this scale!
The nails will first be on show at Ripley's Believe It Or Not! in Orlando, Florida.
In the immediate future, Ayanna plans to grow her nails again, but not quite to the length she previously measured at.

I like to grow my nails out pretty long (nowhere near world record) but whenever they break I have to cut them so they don’t look odd, and it’s such an odd feeling to feel things with your fingertips and have no restrictions like typing and opening sliding doors

TBH this is inspirational. Not to grow long nails necessarily but to be dedicated to something for a long time, and once it doesn’t serve you any more purpose because your intuition says, it’s time to destroy , transform , and be reborn.
I did this with my hair. Not record-breaking lengths by any means, but just for me to have fun and see what my body can do.

I just rewatched her episode about her long toenails on My Strange Addiction and came across this video and I'm so glad she finally decided to trim her fingernails cuz she felt like they were another limb in the episode. I see she also trimmed her toes down and I wonder what made her want to do it after so many years after being diagnosed with diabetes more than 10 years ago. Whatever the reason I'm glad she decided to do it. She's such a treasure ❤️❤️❤️

I would strictly advise against growing fingernails this long. You cannot believe the amount of irreversible physical damage done to her hands, wrists, and fingers from not using them properly and having them support all that unnatural weight for 30 years. I remember seeing a man with a similar condition, and his hand was permanently crippled because of these types of physical problems. It is irresponsible to suggest anyone start this habit.
If you think about, if we just let ourselves grow naturally, hair, facial hair, nails, toe nails and etc. We would look like some weird looking human beings.

I remember when I was little, just probably a mere 3rd grader, reading the Guinness Book of Records in the library and reading about this woman. Now I’m in highschool, watching this same woman cut these nails that I would’ve wanted when I was little. I never thought of the consequences when I was little, but now imagine what a relief it is to finally be able to do things without being worried of her nails.

It wasn’t until about halfway through that I realized she has acrylic on her nails. That explains how she was able to grow them so long. Prior I could not figure out how natural nails could grow that long without breaking on some random thing.
This whole time I thought her nails were natural.
