I have heard them live in the last few years, and they do not sound as they do here.... the playing here has a richness and inner strength it seems to lack today... they are still the world leader, but why do they sound so wonderfully different here under Bohm?
It's amazing to think that just about every recording which Karl Bohm together with his orchestras committed to both recording media and to us was not recorded in the digital era, supposedly, at least the era of sound perfection, and of audiophile excellence. Around 10 years ago I had to give away to charity a significant number of my classical music LPS. Sadly, some of Karl Bohm's recordings went out with the charitable donation windfall, including that which I believe to have been a complete Beethoven cycle of symphonies on DG. Now, I wish that I had them back, because I am not certain whether the recorded sound on the currently available compact disc recordings remastered would even compare to them, much less hold a candle to them.

ベーム／ウィーン・フィルハーモニーの最終来日公演は1980年。この時はウィーン国立歌劇場の引越公演であり、フィルハーモニーとしての演奏会は1回だけ。ベートーヴェンの「第2」と、この「第7」だった。ベームは立たずに座っての指揮だった。それが長年の盟友／ウィーン・フィルハーモニーとのラスト公演だった。

第七交響曲第四樂章初聽令我🐔皮疙瘩
ベーム&ウィーン・フィルハーモニーが最後に来日したのが、1980年。この時も当作品だったが、もう立って指揮することも出来ず、座っての指揮だった。そこまでして来日してくれた巨匠に、心から敬意を表したい。
今朝、たまたまクライバー&ウィーン・フィルの「7番」を聴いたが、やはりベームには敵わない。すごい人だ‼️
クライバーは、コンセルトゲボウを完璧に鳴らしきっている。指揮者の問題じゃなく相性。

ベームとウイーンフィルの相性は、素晴らしいものがあるが、いかんせんこの七番だけに限って、余り良い結果は出ているとは思えない。 この曲では、ベーム特有の持ち味である重厚さと骨太な演奏のいい面が、逆に裏目に出てしまうのだ。 ベートーベンの交響曲の中でも、この七番だけは、余りにもリズミックでスタイリッシュに富んだ当にベートーベンらしくない異色な作品になっている。 敢えて言うならば、ベーム・ウイーンフィルと七番は、相性が良くないと言えようか。
