    Wow this video is a late bloomer I guess lol. But hey, I super appreciate you watching this!!
    A few notes since so many of the comments are asking the same questions:
    -I don’t know why I didn’t mention the Spazer Beam combo either sorry. I said all the beams have combos, but only showed three of them. We'll call it an oversight while editing the script.
    -If you're asking "why didn't you include [blank technique] in the video?" the video itself and description state "here's some of the techniques" and "here's three techniques". At no point do I claim that these are *all* of the game's hidden moves, just a few for people to get started with if they're just getting into the game.
    -I mentioned that a lot of these moves aren't superbly useful or some of them being outclassed by normal item pickups. Many people have corrected me saying these can be quite useful during speedruns or randomizers. That's fair, but when I said that I was really talking about during a normal, casual play through of the game.
    -I absolutely should not have said the game is “free” since it’s really locked behind a subscription. That was just a poor choice of words. My b. Sorry.
    -Sorry that the sound of my voice upsets some of you. You'll just have to deal with that.
    Thanks again for watching folks! I appreciate it.

      @@CaptBurgersonAwesome video, but a liiitle incomplete. The techniques aren't mandatory casually but speedrunwise, they sometimes are not an option, but a necessity. The wave beam charge combo, known in the community as X-Factor, is the best way to quickly deal with bosses, but its really hard to aim right. Well-timed crystal flashes make it possible to do reverse boss order. Still, very entertaining video

      I did want to mention there is a point right at the end of the game where the Crystal Flash is appropriate to use. Without giving away spoilers, it is where you are drained of all your health and then left that way. You do have to manually use your reserve tanks in order to do that, as they are not drained automatically in that scene
      Though it is still useless, as there is a place to recharge your energy right after that, but it is still fun

      Your voice upsets people? Shameful to write something like that. :D
      I consider your voice and clear pronunciations comfortable. Otherwise, I wouldn't have kept watching all the dungeon analyses.

    While it's not an advanced technique, an often overlooked one is the Moonwalk option in the settings. It allows you to walk backwards while shooting. There aren't a whole lot of situations where that even comes in handy, let alone is necessary, but it's fun to try.

    When shinesparking horizontally, make sure you HOLD A, and then immediately hold left or right. Pressing the direction first results in a somersault, while letting go of A before pressing the direction just results in an upwards shinespark.

  • @GarryDumblowski
    @GarryDumblowski 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +31

    Some important notes I'd like to point out:
    - Samus has no IFrames during a Crystal Flash. If an enemy walks into you, you'll take an absurd amount of damage, and the healing most likely won't be able to make up for it.
    - I always struggled with horizontal Shine Sparks as a kid, so if you're struggling, try this: If you hold A instead of tapping it, Samus will hover in the air for a brief moment before launching. If you press forward during this time, Samus will launch forward. This is also helpful for trying to initiate Sparks in mid-air, which you can do by pressing R during a spin jump (though you have to let go of it before you try to spark)

    Charge Beam by itself (w/o any other beam selected) let you charge it until you glowed, then jump and act as a low-grade Screw Attack. 0:41 He says these moves aren't mandatory and are outclassed by some other items and equipment later. However if you play randomizer the beam combos are actually quite useful. I had a seed recently where I had to enter a room with two giant sidehoppers without any upgraded suits, and no E-tanks. I used the beam combo since I had power bombs, plasma beam, and charge beam. It was able to wipe out the sidehoppers without me getting killed since they would have easily taken me out in 1-2 hits, losing some progress. Crystal Flash is a rare one to need, but can be useful in a pinch. And I'm certain that assessment didn't apply directional shinespark which is frequently used by speedrunners and randomizer racers.

Idk if the dev has an upgrade in the game for super short Shinespark or they're just an obnoxious a hole, but some of the SS blocks are in areas where there's little to no room to run up to speed. It seems a LOT of youtubers cheat their way through a lot of these rom Hacks. Maybe the only way to play this one is with cheats? That's wack impo. I don't like using cheats. For people who play on emulator: It works with bsnes hd beta 10.6, but not with ZSNES 1.51. This is probably because ZSNES can't read four inputs at once. I just tried it and put L and R on the same button as X and suddenly it works.

      @Bloodstar6078 หลายเดือนก่อน

      zsnes is outdated anyways. you can be susceptible to bad links through the app. Better to use snes9x. If you use a front-end like Retroarch, it uses "cores," which are like emulators that work as plug-ins, and you can use the snes9x core for snes games.

    Very cool. After I beat dread I decided to go back and replay all the 2D Metroid games saving this one for last since it was my very first Metroid game. I knew about shinesparking but never knew these combos existed. Can’t wait to dive back into this after like 25 years lol.

    Please do a tutorial of how to become better at walljumping. Also, how to hold on to the shinespark charge. There are some bits of Fusion and Zero Mission where I can’t get certain missile packs cos I don’t know how to hold/release/hold/release the charge.

    • @billythenarwhal1579
      @billythenarwhal1579 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      All you do to hold your charge is crouch while speed boosting then to spark you gotta press jump and quickly pick a direction.

      For advanced shinesparks you can store them on ramps, but only in fusion/zero not super.

    This isn't a technique per se, but it's fun to see. Try using a charge beam combo, then enter the menu and swap your weapons. The combo's sprite will change accordingly.

    • @tatecheddar

      I've had issues with this in the past as well and I'm pretty sure it has to do with how you do your jump. If you simply press A she will jump straight up and will not spin. If you press A and then press a direction she will also jump without spinning and move in that direction. The Space Jump cannot be used while she is jumping like this. You must press A while holding a direction for her to spin while jumping and this is the only way for Space Jump to activate. It can be frustrating, but you eventually get used to it.
