    @G2L it looks like you are using a Rigid shop vac. They do make a HEPA certified filter and bag kit. I use these for dust control on my jobs for most tasks. This combination eliminated the need to constantly beat out excess dust... the other option is a dedicated HEPA vac.

    Just a tip, even if your concrete is free of a coating, it's important to still grind it back as it gives epoxy something to bond to, if you don't grind your floor, before long the coating will chip away since it hasn't bonded to the concrete surface properly, also if you can, avoid using any water near where you're going to coat unless you're grinding over it (for very hard concrete) epoxy and water are not friends.

    Can I do this to my kitchen floor on concrete slab? I don’t want to rent a huge grinder. If so, what steps do I need to make it looked polished? I.e, grinding disks top coats etc. Think Costco floor or warehouse floor? Current subfloor is pretty smooth minus some plaster drips and linoleum glue. Any info would be appreciated? 💕

    • @Got2Learn
      @Got2Learn  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      All you need is a 7" grinder like in my video and you should be fine ;)

  • @majoraslayer64
    @majoraslayer64 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Working on the grinding part right now on a 2.5 car garage, and I've noticed that there's some light visual cupping scratches in the floor as I go. I'm grinding off an old epoxy coating; if I keep the grinder moving faster it doesn't get the coating off, and at the fastest I can move and still remove the coating it still tends to gouge the concrete occasionally. I've been trying to smooth these gouges as best I can as I go, but I can still tell the surface isn't 100% smooth. Does the epoxy self-level over this?

    • @Got2Learn
      @Got2Learn  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah you would need a pro machine for it not to show, even on my floor they show, but it doesn't bother me.

    • @valentinowerahiko1084
      @valentinowerahiko1084 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need to grind in circles and be patient as long as you scratch the surface sufficient for mechanical adhesion to occur you should be ok. the reason for the circles is so that you have less chance of digging in. Dont be in a hurry unless youre a contractor but by then you will know how to trouble shoot.
