glad to see the appreciation for this little device! I think it's amazing for the price. of course there will be sacrifices but for what it does, it's a more than fair bargain! great vid!
i really should do a video showcasing my good old OLED psvita running retroarch so you can see just how brilliant retro gaming is on the vita. For me it is truly SO much better than all your bittboy or pocketgo or rs97 etc devices. The vita OLED screen is beautiful (rich strong colours and black is actually black not grey, and the scrolling during gameplay for mame, ps1, snes etc etc is dead smooth with no tearing, no slowdown, no blur (or perhaps a TINY insignificant amount blur if you actually look for it). The screen size is big & clear and i currently own two Vitas and am looking to buy a third! That's how impressive it is to me
Firmware CFW 1.3 fix this issue but PS1 emulation isn't for this CPU on this handheld. Odroid Go Advance works way better in PSP and PS1, no frame skip, crispy 60 fps and no framedrop. Even RG350 have issues to emulate PS1 but Odroid Go Advance beat all the emulation handhelds.
now THIS is the intro I'm talking about!! 10/10! Thanks for reviewing this cool handheld. Not gonna lie, I like this thing. It's not amazing but it's a nice small handheld in a pinch.
Loos cool! I may end up getting one. Plan to visit my brother in Tampa before summer is over. It's a 15 hour trip to where he lives, and this would be ideal for the trip!
I saw some dead pixels on the black screen while he was playing Ghost N Goblins at 8:07. Like he said, it’s not perfect and you get what you pay for at $50. Damn pixels.
It looks like a cool little handheld! I'm not big on handheld gaming but could consider something like this to play different systems on when I can be in the gameroom. Great video!
I have one of these! For me, it does a great job with GENESIS, GBA and Atari 2600 roms. It doesn't do as well for SNES and NES. This thing also does well with playing audio files. It tries to play video files but there are so many glitches that its unwatchable.
Already ordered mine! Glad to see you've got one too John. More people I follow on YT keep putting up reviews and I'm getting impatient waiting on mine to ship. Can't wait! Thanks for the awesome video as always.
Mine came in the mail today. Initial thoughts.....plays Genesis/MegaDrive games well. Plays PCE/TurboGraphix-16 games well (screen is slightly narrower than the genesis). The NES emulation seems to play the games' music slightly fast, could be to the roms loaded on it were PAL region. NEO Geo games seem slightly sluggish. Did not see any Lynx or PS1 games loaded on it. Noticed some slight screen tearing with using Mame to play Shinobi. I've only loaded Pc Engine and TG-16 roms on it so far. Also, I'm running windows 10 on my laptop. Windows 10 freaks out when you insert the microSD card - Multiple windows open it with messages like FILE SYSTEM CORRUPT, CARD NEEDS TO BE FORMATTED, etc... Be sure to look for the ROMS folder to place your games.
There exist a uncracked stunts version out there ? :D Because i never saw a uncracked. If you can find "Raw Copy" for DOS, you can crack stunts by your self. Maybe there's a Version hosted on Archive.org ;)
I just got one of these and was quite excited. Unfortunately the speaker has already stopped functioning and the screen won’t sit flush 😕 if it wasn’t for those critical flaws it would be my favorite purchase in some time
Is there a better alternative to the bittboy pocketgo v1 in October 2020? I like the size especially so form factor is a big deal for me. To put a portable in my pocket again would be awesome.
You can order one, but good luck even getting it shipped out. I placed an order ten days ago and it still hasn't even shipped. But it's funny how all the TH-camrs got one. I guess us common folk just don't matter.
i ordered mine over two weeks ago from Retromimi. i have been waiting so long that i have watched enough reviews to realize that i probably don't even want it anymore because of how bad the screen tearing is. oh well... maybe by the time i get it a firmware will be made to help this problem.
I got mine a few days ago. The tearing is unbearable on most games. A lot of games have framerates way below 60 (especially SNES). The sound of my unit stopped working after a few minutes. I am quite disappointed.
This looks like a rebadged GCW Zero. Instead of mini USB, we have micro USB. The never utilized HDMI on the GCW Zero has been removed. Look how well that GCW Zero project went. No updates in like 4 or 5 years. At least there is no screen tearing on the GCW Zero. It has good emulation.
So how many Bitboys are they going to release before the emulation is right?I really want like it but the Bitboy needs to run everything perfect just like the original handheld or console does?
I keep watching videos about this console for 2 days now, I can’t decide if I should get it or not, I want mainly to play SNES games and the mega drive games, did anything change since it was released? How SNES games run now?
I ordered the Bittboy from them and after four months of nothing and an empty promise of reshipping I had to file a complaint with Paypal to get my money back. I had my fill of RetroMimi...
Ugh. I have to debate with you on that speaker. The sound is really terrible. I hope with headphones the sound is better. Some of those music tracks were painfully awful.

select button + Y or B controls the audio volume and select button + X or A controls the screen brightness. that's in addition to the volume wheel on the side (which is reversed, down is up and vise versa) give that a try see if it helps.
I never knew you follow emulation as always thought you are a hardcover only guy! Interesting. Please contribute to the preservation scene by dumping your original games! LOL
I think it’s safe to say that John probably has a physical copy of every game that comes with the pocket-go
cfreddykrueger I was just about to make that comment haha
Subscribing for being such a respectful, polite and happy dude.
why not show us the features that don't work properly too so we get an accurate idea of what it's like?

60hz screen with no tearing and USB-C and that's I think it would be perfect for everyone
Sean Russell a fair comment.

a/v cable wont work on this device. dunno why they did it or why nobody says it
Thanks for the game play close ups, most reviewers have cam 3-4 feet away from console and describe what screens look like.
ThnQ 4 checking the lynx emulator on this, of the many reviews on this device yours is the first to actually show it!
Excited u reviewed this! Thank you!!!

Looks pretty good for emulating the old early and mid 90's consoles and portables.
Still waiting for my pocket go to arrive!
The original PSP is still the best handheld for emulation in my view.
PS Vita
What's the latest psp cfw that's good to run?
I haven't updated mine in a LONG time.
6.60 pro b10 cfw
Ipega 9087s if you have a decent smartphone and only $20
sonic hadoken you can dumbass

I really want something like this with 6 face buttons.
This looks really awesome!! Thanks for this video !!!
My modded PSP is slowing down and it really got me into emulation in general. I'm looking for a portable emulation device like this.
I might consider getting that, or maybe even think about about getting that for my nieces birthday
Nice!. I got interested as soon as I noticed your video. Playing the NeoGeo roms on the go would be amazing!.
Already ordered mine! Glad to see you've got one too John. More people I follow on YT keep putting up reviews and I'm getting impatient waiting on mine to ship. Can't wait! Thanks for the awesome video as always.
It makes a great little "Nomad" with its Genesis emulation.

it's worth it. resident evil 1, 2, 3, survivor on the ps1 runs at 60fps smooth solid.
Hi John love your channel. Have you ever thought of displaying some of your collection at the Strong Museum?
James Mincks I would rather display it in my own museum.
If they would replace the micro USB and av out with a USB C connection I would grab one. Maybe next revision.
Does this mean I can play Stunts, Duke Nuke’em 3D, Tank Wars and Scorched Earth if it runs DOS somehow?
Stunts on dosbox is so fun! The trick is to get a crack version or a pdf of the instructions to bypass security
There exist a uncracked stunts version out there ? :D

Nice work John, thanks.
Main drive doesn't show up on file explorer, only boot drive. Can't put any games on this thing. Anyone else have this problem?
I have a cheap tab, and a $7 usb controller. Never had a problem
I just got one of these and was quite excited. Unfortunately the speaker has already stopped functioning and the screen won’t sit flush 😕 if it wasn’t for those critical flaws it would be my favorite purchase in some time
Adam Jenkins get an LDK handheld, it functions so much better. No screen tearing, better speakers and audio, better overall emulation.

The RS-97 v.1 and v.2 are still better. No screen tearing on the RS-97 and bigger screen.

It might be ok if you only play 2D PS1 games. Like Symphony of the Night.
Does it play Genesis with 3 buttons properly mapped? As the last bittboy did not

John Marcolini some but I did not add footage to video.

Reminds me of the A320 Dingoo I had. Sadly lost it but replaced it w/ a PSP. How's the battery life on this thing?

does this support ebook?
Some games work, some games don't. The sound quality is poor. The killer is the screen is way too small.

mines had a dead line on the screen and failed in 2 days I would avoid this
Is it worth upgrading my psp to get this?
This is kind of random but does your son have that gun fight game now?
How is this bypassing the legal aspects? I presume that Sony, Sega, Nintendo, etc would want to get at them?
Hey more plastic are these thing any good. How much more plastic can be dumped into the market before the AMICO arrives
