I'm actually shocked that Banjo-Kazooie doesn't have as big a romhacking scene as Super Mario 64.
I'm certain it's due to the game's much more complex code, that's what made it so difficult to corrupt for so long.

When I was a kid I didn't know you had to complete the arcade because it was literally just so sidequesty, I thought, there's no fucking way this is going to help me progress in the story,I probably just missed something earlier on. Then I never completed the game.
Those 2 are easy compared to that annoying mini game of those blue rats where you are a crocodile and they must fall in the hole.
Banjo Tooie is terribly underrated. You really have to look at it differently, it's structured more like an action adventure like Zelda or even a Metroidvania rather than a faster-paced platformer with a level-like structure. You explore, you gain abilities, you backtrack to areas you couldn't access before, and you do all sorts of set-pieces and minigames.
I wouldn't say I prefer it to Kazooie, but they're both amazing and worlds ahead of DK64, sorry Joel.
DK64 would've been great if there were less kongs, less collectables and a way to switch kongs on the fly. Still doesn't help the fact that I 100%ed it twice.
Phantom Drags people say they want to switch Kong’s but what would actually help is if so many collectibles/objects weren’t arbitrarily tied to a specific kong. For something involving a special ability that’s fine, but for bananas, balloons, ammo switches, face buttons, coins, instrument buttons, blueprints, Golden bananas and bonus barrels, just have ALL Kong’s able to collect those. That would actually remove a ton of the busywork in that game. I wouldn’t say it’d make it better than banjos games (intro aside, the game lacks a huge ton of personality in all of its worlds), but it would make it less of a pain.

I like DK64, switching Kongs arbitrarily or having collectibles not tied to specific Kongs would defeat most of the point of the game (i.e. you're meant to play the game as all of the Kongs).

Dk64 even Mario 64 can also be explained this way.
If Vinny has no nostalgia for Banjo-Tooie, got over DK64 and couldn't finish Yooka-Laylee then I don't know if he'll be able to get through Tooie.
Well DK64 is like if all the bad things about Tooie were 10 times worse (except the lag), and Yooka-Laylee is just too big, sometimes kind of empty, and the items aren't laid out in a meaningful way.
I wouldn't require him to complete it if he doesn't enjoy it near the end, I never got to that point myself. Just the rest of the game has a lot of great stuff.

I remember never 100%ing it because it would chug like hell on N64. This seems like a great opportunity to reconnect with my childhood.
I finished it 101% with all its super secrets and easter eggs in a real n64, but it had an expansion pack, maybe you were missing that piece.

There is a version of korkiri forest in this hack with the korkiri forest music instead of the treasure trove cove music.
missed wind waker one and clock town made my mark kurko idk if its part of jiggies in time though but there is a section of clock town that leads back the the zelda one dungeon which i find interesting because of the entire zelda one dungeon with banjo could it be possible to travel between zelda games by entering doors?

Vinny calls xylophones "bone music", probably because of the spooky scary skeleton song.

I beat Tooie once. I tried playing it again but man is it boring. It's the most tedious game I've ever played. Sometimes, you need to go through several levels just to get ONE Jiggy. Gimme BK and DK64 even anytime, but Tooie, I can't stand it for more than one level. It's too bad too since it has a pretty good story imo and I love the characters.
I love all three games but I don't really understand how you can dislike Tooie, but not DK64. It's pretty much universally agreed on that DK64 is pretty much all of the things you disliked in Tooie but worse.
@@ori.g4mi I can go in a level with a character in DK and get a few bananas before having to switch or go to another level. Last time I played Tooie, there were whole sessions in which i just ran around for hours getting only a Jiggy or 2 in the end
And thats bad...why? Just because you don't got a jiggy doesn't mean you made no progress at all.

Yeah. It retains 0 of the zelda charm. The enemies aren't fast enough and you aren't required to beat all the enemies in a room to progress. Zelda is about using clever back tracking and pattern memorization to complete the game. This is extremely boring.
