Cool video! If the task isn't too large, sometimes I'll "manually" duck reverb (and delay) by automating the effect's mix control (if the effect is in series) in conjunction with the audio waveform. It keeps everything "on the track" but can be a little time consuming if the track is long.
nothing i didnt know but still very imformative especially for new users! You get a big 5 out of 5 thumps up and much respect from me for this video! : D
Thanks for watching the premier with me! Let me know if you have something you struggle with or and effect you just don’t get! Maybe I’ll make a vid for ya.
That was such an Awesome Video!!!!.. Great Stuff... I like that 90's R&B sound ( i.e. "talking in his sleep" by Toni Braxton produced by Dr. Dre), any idea how in the world they get such thick sounds with such good separation (it sounds like the sounds have their own area in the field and they dont really overstep their areas much)? The Bass is super thick and punchy and so good... So many sounds, arps, leads, pads and they dont sound so "cluttered"/"Muddy".. I want my R&B tracks to hit like that, but I cant find the formula... any ideas.??
Great tips! Thanks buddy. Is there any easier way to do this nowadays? With a VST or such? I mean it's pretty straight forward, but you still have to route a bunch of sht.
Hmmm. I can’t think of an easier way. But you can make it once and pack it into a combinator with only the macros you need on the combinator face plate and that’ll save you some time. Only one thing to wire up then. Do you know how to do that?
@@itsdjQuasar True, can save it in the template I use. I know how to put things in the combinator. But not macros and face plate, whatever that is. I never have to use ducking reverb, cause I only make instrumental music, but it's good to know if I happen to use a vocalist in the future
@@itsdjQuasar For sure! I can probably learn a lot. I only just the basics of Reasons, I believe. I don't route anything. Before I had Kickstarter I used to route to sidechain, with Fabfilter. Which was a bit annoying. But I don't do that anymore either. But yeah, any trick or thing to learn about reason is welcome in my book! The more you know about the program you use, the better. I just started using something as simple as Send FX with reverbs, before I usually just bus the tracks and put a reverb on the bus and individual for effect
Hellooo! What a "neat" video :) I have a question about Live-Sax reverbing. Do you think reverb-ducking makes sense in this case? Playing with a 8-9 heads big band? Or do you think its not necessary? Tx for the video!!! Nice insight! Mandy from Germany
Hey Quasar really like your videos. They are so helpful and informative for my mixing. Could you possibly make a video on how to get a loud master without clipping? I've been making music which I thought wasn't clipping but threw it in a different song session and it comes out as RED and it baffles me. Please inform me/us what I'm doing wrong and how to right this pestering circumstance.
So I came across your question again and you should watch this video: th-cam.com/video/T-TpPLzRpsU/w-d-xo.html I think it may explain clipping as it pertains to Reason for ya. I think I still want to do a video around the topic. Lemme know if it helps!
Hello. Yea I've actually seen that video a few times. When I master a song it'll be in the good red of 0 Db but then I put it into a new document to test it out sometimes it comes out as bad red beyond 0 Db. I've just been proof listening lately I guess to make sure it doesn't clip. Trying new approaches. More limiting in the mixing before I limit and boost it in the mastering. Music is so complicated! Haha. That would be cool though if you make a video about mastering/limiting.
@@sub-genre0279 Good red, bad red. I like it! That's a good way to describe it. I'll do a video on loudness and mastering. Just for more info: what limiter are you using as the final stage?
@@itsdjQuasar Thanks. It's the best way I can describe it. Well I used to use the izotope Ozone Maximizer rack extension from Reason or even the ozone 8 vintage Limiter. Lately I've been using the Fabfilter Pro-L2.
Reason content? Yes, please! Subscribed!
Welcome aboard!
excellent !!!
nice. needed this trick
Great video! "It's a long way to get...there!" Funny, love it.
Great video dude.
I'm all for these videos......keep them coming!! #reasongang 💯💯
the intro whas very Master 🤣👌👌🎶💯💖Great Video! itsdjQuasar
Have watched a few of your videos this weekend and learned some things, THANK YOU!
Didn't think it was doable! So thank you for sharing

Thank you Sir. this tip is a game changer
Much appreciated🙏. You're the G.O.A.T I did it with both reverb & delay but added a gate as well to the delayed version of it. 🔥🙌🔥
Dope! Stay creative, Deshawn!
Your videos are very useful, thanks! Greetings from Italy!

Keep up the good work and Thanks for this!
Will do! Thank you!
U r d BEST!!! 🙏🎹🎧🎵🍀
Thanks, bro!!
Clean explanation, thank you
You're welcome!
Useful, thanks. I tend to keep stuff within the track too, easier to figure out what the hell I was doing six months later! :)
Exactly!
Very nice. Gonna start doing this with the jumble of instrument and FX devices I end up with as a keyboard player in a cover band.
You use Reason live in your band?
Thank u, gracias soy de Colombia y me ayuda mucho tu tutorial, muchas gracias :)
De nada, mi hermano. ¡Muchas gracias por su apoyo! Mi video próximamente es del Malstrom. ¡Manténgase en sintonía! 🖤
Nice video❤
Great video, thank you. Presumably this method applies equally to ducking the reverb (or any effect?) on any instrument - not necessarily vocals?
yep!
Great video, would it be even better to put the de-esser before the reverb?
Correct, sir! Realized that while editing. Good catch! They both will work but before better!

I don't even use reason xd but I like this effect

Can i do this with thirdparty verb vst?
Yep. Throw a compressor after it and route it to the original signal.

Thanks!
Hmm.. These videos is why reason studios stopped making tutorials. And, I don't blame them.
