One of the best songs that came out in the last 5 years. The guitar solo at the end always gives me chills. The whole Obsidian album from Paradise Lost is a masterpiece. Thanks Tommy and thanks to the patreon.
This song has always impressed me as a masterpiece, both musically and lyrically, and the visuals on the video are quite striking. I've never quite figured out the meaning of the song through the lyrics, though. I'm thinking that it might what post-war PTSD victims go through mentally, trying to reconcile and understand what they've experienced and the contradictions they're facing.
thanks for your reaction, my friend. This song is an absolute masterpiece. I can't say exactly why it works the way it does, but I want to listen to it again and again. This is a melodic calming beginning, then a breakdown, a gorgeous guitar solo, a minimalistic but very cool video clip, lyrics, emotionality and depression, that guitar riff in the chorus ❤️ all this is in the song. Over 30 years of the group's existence, they are still capable of creating masterpiece songs. I want you to hear their song “Faith divides us, death unites us”, it will definitely not leave you indifferent and the video clip for this song is very strong emotionally, it’s amazing. when the entire clip consists of just a couple of frames, but it absolutely takes you out of your comfort zone
Their best ever track and. IM A YORKSHIREMAN ! THis track has multiple story lines that wax Existential. The track is also about the foolishness of attempting to teach morality by way of religion. Even the Guitar solo just speaks in the beauty of isolation. (All isolation is wrong so sayeth The Herd and longeth did you belong TO The Herd! : This Spake Zaruthstura : Nietzsche). The guitar tells about the power to be found in isolation and power of the beauty of loneliness. Its subtle but i think Greg has spoken VOLUMES in that guitar solo The whole track just resonates with my own personal philosophy as iam what one could call an Athiest Existentialist. No hope no belief and zero meaning to existence.

Ya this was so powerful but also simple. I loved it. I will for sure check out that song.
Paradise lost's lead really knows how to make a guitar talk straigh to your brain...
This was good. I like the riff, which is simple but really clean. The vocals are solid for sure. Just an overall good metal song.
Great track. From a great album
