Great reaction :) Glad you've found Wintersun. Someone here already recommended Time and Land Of Snow And Sorrow from this same session. I recommend them too. Greetings from Finland :)
You can do Time and Land of Snow and Sorrow from the same session as well, also very good! And for Nightwish, you can do Phantom of the Opera with Tarja from End of and Era. You will love it! Thanks for listening!
This is one of the most intense songs I've heard since I started my journey with metal. You can hear and feel the power of a Finnish winter pressing down on the singer. At the end, they finally succeed in overcoming. Great reaction to this amazing music. Please listen to Epica, another powerful symphonic metal band at Nightwish's level. Start with the song Unleashed from the Retrospect concert. You will be amazed.
Hi Athena.... Loved your reaction to this. Speechless?.... yes. You're not alone. If I recall, I was speechless the first time I heard it. Time is another greta on, followed, would you believe by Time II.
@@grahambatchelor3576 hello 😁 thanks indeed!! Totally speechless, can't wait to also listen to those two songs, these were recommended also, so I guess they are epic aswell! 😁
Great song, great band. The drummer Kai Hahto there is now the current drummer with nightwish joining them in 2019. Loved your reaction on this one Athena keep them coming❤
There wouldn't be so many metal bands in Finland, if the musicians wouldn't be active in at least five bands. And they have different musical interests, backgrounds and roles in the band, which makes that understandable. E.g. Teemu Mäntysaari there is in Megadeth now, but he also has this more rock pop like band: "Smackbound - Change - Official Music Video". Quite often metal musicians have studied classical music: "Children Of Bodom vs Classical Composers", "Apocalyptica - 'Path' (Official Video)" and "Kalmah - Seventh Swamphony (Official Music Video)". Many don't understand how diverse genre metal is: "Hevisaurus - 100".
Glad you found Wintersun and like it! In my opinion, Wintersun and Nightwish are the 2 best metal bands in Finland. There are many good songwriters in Finland, but I think two are composers: Jari Mäenpää (Wintersun) and Tuomas Holopainen (Nightwish). My TOP 5 Finnish metal bands are the following: Nightwish, Wintersun, Amorphis, Insomnium and Ensiferum. All of them are worth getting to know! A few years before the pandemic, Kai Hahto was already touring as Nightwish's drummer (albeit still temporarily), and he couldn't participate in Wintersun's concert tour. So in those few years Wintersun had 3 touring drummers. But none of them played this song like Kai, but in a much easier and simpler way! 😂
Oh, I remember the first time I watched this video. I couldn’t believe my eyes, and my ears. It’s so perfect! And even I’ve heard this for a thousand times, I’m still ready for battle every single time after listening to this one (don’t even know what/who against, but I’m at Jari’s side)! And yes, check also out Time and Land of Snow and Sorrow, these same sessions. They are just awesome!
Hello! Hahah I agree! This song is very uplifting, I'm on Jari's side too! This song really blew me away, I wasn't prepared for these emotions and still feel the same when I listen to it again now! 😁 Amazing
I absolutely love this band and have loved Jari's stuff since Ensiferum days. This song when I heard it blew me away and after that seen them many times live in Finland and also in Wacken 2018 for example. Best gigs... Jari's compositions are just absolutely brilliant. It's really fun to see your reactions to the music I've loved for a long time. Cheers from a Gen-Xr... and you are lovely! What I feel with Jari's stuff.... All kinds of emotions. From crying to really sentimental... the whole scale.
Hello thanks a lot for your comment 😁 🙏 I totally agree!! I wasn't prepared to all these emotions, this happens rarely, or at least with a few bands! So this was really a great discovery for me, absolutely blew me away!! Must be awesome to see them live!! 🤟🏻😁 Greetings to you 😁
Thanks for sharing your entertaining reaction to this epic masterpiece. I also think that it's time for: Wintersun - Time (TIME I Live Rehearsals At Sonic Pump Studios) REMASTER.
Hi Athena I just saw this 3 days later ! I didn't get notified but next do wintersun time live rehearsal at Sonic pump studio Wintersun is symphonic metal they use viking folklore in their music so send me back a reply back. Thank you Wintersun Alex USA ❄️🫶
Very interesting that you make the analogy to classical music. There are many(myself included) who maintain that metal music, in its various forms, is directly descended from classical music. And your English is fine. I don’t think anyone has any difficulty understanding what you’re saying. I’m just happy to see you enjoying metal. 🤟
@@Mountain_Mutt hello 😁 I totally agree with that! I really feel that, with some bands more than others but the constructions of the music itself it feels a lot alike, even tho the instruments aren't the same (or not all of them) And thank you very much for my English! 😁🤟🏻
Athena, these are the best reactions because they are real and you can tell they come from the heart. You are not wrong about anything you are saying. You are spot on about Nighwish, Wintersun and metal. Also, your English is very good so no need to do a French version, unless is for your own amusement. Say hi to Buoni.❤🤙🤘

@AthenaDK then we have to do some Gojira, unless you already have done some. I recommend the song they did for the Olympics. I'm pretty sure you've heard about the performance of Mea Culpa. First metal band to perform in the opening ceremonies. Greetings from Miami, Florida USA.😊
Am I dreaming? Athena reacting to Sons of Winter and Stars? Hahaha yesss listening to this song is such an overwhelming experience, so many emotions, I dream of watching this live! "FOREVER THE FIRE BURNS IN OUR HEARTS!" is something Fëanor would chant :D! Have you listened to Eluveitie? I have a feeling you might like it, lots of symbolism, history and instruments! For example, the song “Uxellodunon”. Btw, your English is really great! And a reaction in French would be magnifique!
@@cesar_rojasbravo Hello 😁😁 yes totally I wasn't prepared for this hahah this was really different from Silver Leaves, I loved that one too, but this one was overwhelming, in a good way!! And thank you for my English hahah 😁 I will do maybe in French too! Maybe if I react to a French metal band! Anyway thanks a lot 😁

Since you seem to like more complex music with great singers, maybe try video titled "Ayreon - The Day That The World Breaks Down - The Source (2017)"?
Kaitsu flexing his technical skills. Convinced by now that he's a left-hander, which means he's ambidextrous and thus able to switch up his playing style. As a leftie drummer boi, I can recognize certain things he does that a right-hander won't/can't do. Absolutely love the straight 4/4 over double bass triplet subdivisions, the permutations, displacements.. all that jazz. Great stuff. Still like "Time" (same rehearsals) better. Way better. Because technical mastery, however impressive, isn't the be all end all. I'm actually quite annoyed at times by his "musical" choices, like when he butchers a beautiful piece with those #!%💣blast beats. Nice to know he can do them well, but yeah.. absolutely horrible way to grab the spotlight imo. Guitar & vocal harmonies, the chord progressions in the midsection are truly stunning tho and save what would otherwise amount to overly technical "prog for prog's sake" showing off. Nice reaction as always Athena, salut et au revoir (also to Bouni). Oh & yes, please do one in French with subs AND another one in Dutch of course ;) Groetjes!
The song "Time" from the same studio live rehearsal will also blow your mind, it is my favorite song of all time. Must watch!
