Pro tip for catching Shiny Mew: have it use Transform on a Pokemon like Zigzagoon which in Gen 3 will also copy Zigzagoon's catch rate letting you easily catch it in any ball
This is true, but I think that Magikarp is often the better choice. Because you can use the dive ball which not only matches the color scheme of shiny mew but also has a higher catch rate because magikarps a water type
@@the7569 Dive Ball doesn't have that effect in Gen 3, instead it only works if you're underwater

I just watched the whole 44 minute video and it just dawned on me that I had everything I needed to do this, seeing you explaining everything and even having a timer to show your actual timeline, REALLY inspires me to pick up my Emerald again and hunt for that shiny Mew. Thanks for the video. Liked and Subscrubed! I genuinely had to turn down the (usual pokemon video) speed from 1.5 to 1x cause I wanted to hear your explanations for everything.

it's actually pretty easy to do ACE tbf it's just the learning it for the first time that was daunting, when i started it was 2 almost solid days of learning and fucking up but once I got it it was easy.
mannnn every time i see RNG manip done i get more and more excited to start learning it myself, good stuff blisy

I’m ADDICTED to this channel now, I’m 28 I’ve been playing Pokémon a long time. I stopped years ago; just figured I was too old and the community had died and popularity was low. However videos like this and watching other trainers play these games all these years later really makes me want to start playing again

Nice, great vid. I will have to try doing this on an original cart one day. I done a rng of mew on an emulator way back like 10 years ago and had to leave my computer on for months to get to my frame. The painting trick makes this 100x faster by the looks of it

Great video! Just completed my living dex in Emerald, so now I’m looking for a new accomplishment. Perfect shiny legendaries seems like a next step. One question; how do you get the glitched Pokémon? I was looking into this and the Crobat with the glitch move you use in FR/LG, but haven’t found the tutorial for it yet. Keep it up!

Recently used the 8f glitch to get a batch of shiny mews in SV. Caught a few different mews so they wouldn't be clones of each other, and lucked into a 6 IV! Sadly seems like their nature will always be Hasty when shiny (unless I happened to get it 7x in a row)

Off topic but will you be making a video discussing the discontinuation of Pokémon bank/poke transfer? I’m just curious of what the future holds when it comes to transferring Pokémon from older games to the new ones. Will there be new fan made alternative methods to get around the shutdown? How will it be done? Will it require modified/modded switches and 3DS’s? Also just curious on your opinion is on this topic and how it might affect the Pokémon community.
Hey, figured I would ask since you are the king at RNG manipulation, is there a way to check what shiny PIDs you have on a given Gen 4 game? For reference, I'm trying to shiny hunt Manaphy so I'm doing it in a specific, albeit illegitimate way where I use an Action replay to get 18 boxes worth of Manaphy Eggs in Heartgold (code that activates the even to give me an egg from the delivery guy). Then I planned to export that save into PKHex to check the PIDs of the eggs and see if any matched the shiny PIDs in my Platinum copy so I could trade and hatch. I just wanted to know if there was some program where I could pop in my TID and SID and find out what PIDs would result in a shiny in my Platinum game so I know what to look out for (since the game you receive the Manaphy egg in will always generate a non-shiny PID)
I’d really wanted to get a perfect shiny mew, and while I could’ve rerun the event on my cartridge by using glitches, I wanted to get an R4 card to backup my current save, just due to any risk of corruption. Unfortunately, I don’t think I can get an R4 and a microSD card in time. The earliest they’ll get here is tomorrow afternoon, and the Mewtwo Raids leave by like 5pm tomorrow. Still got a Shiny Mew with the Mightiest Mark, and while it isn’t perfect, it is what it is~
Edit: Update, I managed to pull it off! Got my R4 card working, made a backup, changed the SID, captured the Perfect Shiny Mew, and still managed to beat Mewtwo’s raid offline with only 2 players and 2NPCs! Couldn’t have done it without help from peeps in the discord tho
Two things I just wanna say. Firstly, thank you for making these videos. I just got myself a flawless Beldum in emerald and I'd never be able to do it without your videos. Secondly, I had a question regarding the rng process. When waiting to hit A on the painting to select a seed, is it possible to advance the rng first using battle videos to store an rng state close to the frame to reduce waiting time? So instead of waiting 5 minutes to hit the seed, can I store the rng state 4:30 minutes after game launch using battle videos so that I only have to wait 30 seconds per reset instead of 5 minutes?
The painting sets your seed to the number of frames drawn since the game launched, not the rng state. This means you can't skip any of the wait time by changing the rng state with battle videos.

What all causes rng muddying? Ive been trying to shiny hunt on routes after finding my PID from a new save and i am finding the mons i get are WILDLY off frame-wise (for example -3800 frames on route 113 on a 30k frame timer). You mention rng muddying a little bit in this video but i want to make sure im not doing anything wrong with some concrete info. also something i only noticed a little bit ago is my eontimer doesnt have an nds-gba setting but i was still able to get my treeko with a 84 in my calibration setting.
Catch a Sentret in FLRG and tranfer it up so it can learn Tidy Up through Mirror Herb. Do it for Dustbuster

What might be the reason that I can find a perfect shiny Mew with the "Searcher" but once I change my profile to the SID I still cannot get it under "Generator"? Nothing pops up. Is it just bad luck with the TID?
I did the same on a French cartridge but I also changed the Mew's language to Japanese, My OT was 5 letters so hopefully it's "legal" x)
I genned a Korean 6iv shiny mew. Emerald wasn't released in Korean. It's on my switch and the games think it's kegit

I ended up getting a shiny mew using Ace to get the old sea map in my English emerald copy. I noticed people online tend to get very upset seeing it, calling it illegitimate and whatnot. I don't understand why people get so upset over something like that especially when mew and the old sea map are in the code for English emerald, and third party hardware and software aren't being used to modify the game files. It's better than somebody using an action replay or pkhex to gen a pokemon in with some website name. I honestly feel like people who get upset at this kind of stuff are just jealous.

Hi, im trying to get all the events on my japanese emerald but i cant read the japanese characters to figure out how to name the boxes to execute ACE (i'm seeing them in sleipnirs list of codes but most of them look totaly different in the game as they do in his list ( at least to me)) is there any tool or something i could use to copy them in from the list that shows me how its supposed to look in the game or something like that?
Is Emerald's ACE sophisticated enough to just be able to generate a Mew like the one you were hunting for in the video?

You can get the 2016 Mew GF event from Pokemon Red shiny legit, you then need the copy of the game to virtual console on 3DS + some gliches, its cool enough with the gameboy mark they get from the early games.
That’s not legit. Passes the home checks but that’s not what legit means my man.

the reason they’re so strict with save files is you will 100% break your game if you transfer in a pokemon home thinks you should be able to but your game isn’t updated. maybe there’s a better way to do it but they already have broken files by accident so hard checks are better than nothing.

As someone who was also intimidated by the painting method but now has Flawless Shiny versions of those exact Pokemon from the painting method, I guarantee you that it’s a very rewarding process.
Blisy and Papa Jefe’s videos tell you everything you need to know to set it all up, so believe in yourself and go for it!
I also got Flawless Shiny Mew, Deoxys, Ho-oh and Sudowoodo this way too. It’s really fun once you get the hang of it!

Got a jpn mew from the event but the ot is in English. I doubt it is possible, but still wondering if it is possible, they did all those rng things, but I think a guy changed the ot. Is possible to get jpn mew with English ot?
The language of the pokemon and it's name (JPN, ENG, FRE, KOR, etc) is only determined by the language you set at the beginning of the game.
Unlike the 3ds, the Switch doesn't region-lock language options. I have a Violet game profile with Japanese language set so I could get pokemon for Masuda method breeding in my main profile.

I did this hunt a little while ago using RNG. I didn't really intend to keep it and did wind up releasing it after migrating it forward a few games, but it was cool to have my hands on a shiny Mew for once. I just hope I can get my hands on a proper, *hunted* shiny Mew in later generations someday. The best we've gotten so far was the abysmal paid Pokemon Go shiny Mew ticket. I missed that, but I wouldn't have wanted it, ultimately, so I'm not too upset by that fact. I passed up on shiny Jirachi available the same way. Paying money for a Go shiny seems... meh. I'd rather get one in a proper Pokemon game someday.
If only they'd release RSE and FRLG in some form of VC on Switch or something with the events available again.

This feels like the rumors you would hear on the playground. You would talk about all these complicated steps on how to acquire a perfect shiny mew and all the other kids would be like no I don't believe you that sounds so fake. The fact that this stuff actually works is crazy I would love to see you do RNG manipulation on other games too. Maybe something with real time combat.
Gen 1 has a lot of crazy glitches that look like playground rumors. But RNG manipulation requires very precise timing and has advanced calculator tools available to perform it.
Damn I'm looking for a Modest Latios with 31 in all but Attack but nothing seems to come up surely I am doing something wrong, I do not care if shiny or not :(
