Came for the video, stayed for the wholesome father son relationship
God bless him and his Father.
At 13yo my history teacher brought her TV from home, and had a janitor put up an antenna. The class watched live (8 second delay) the motorcade, they did'n cut away. The whole class burst into tears at the atrocity we had just witnessed.
It's so wonderful to see a channel where father and son spent time together, wish I had that with my dad
To be fair I spend a lot of time with my family but no way would they ever let me post them on social media they don’t even like me sharing photos lol
Neat to see the Flying Horse so prominently displayed and widely used. We had a Flying Horse gas station on the corner of the small CT town where I grew up. There is a bank on that corner now.
Lost my dad 9 years ago. Looking at you enjoy your time with yours brings me happiness. Love your videos man
I feel the same, his Dad reminds me of my Dad, same sense of humor. We'd be doing the same if he was still alive...
Sorry to hear that. I grown without pops, my pop-pop who raised me, died of cancer 20yrs ago. Now I spend every day with my son, to give him something I never experienced with my dad, but thanks to my old man, I am trying to be the best dad in the world. I am thinking about g-dad every day since he passed. RIP
It really does make me reflect on time with my father ❤
In 1963 when President Kennedy was killed, I was in 8th grade. The principal came on the voice cam and told us all to go home. She also said that our President had been shot and that he died. I walked home in a trance. Could not comprehend what had just happened. When I got home, my mother held me as I cried. She was crying too. Will never forget. Never.
We were Air Force brats and stationed in Athens Greece. We heard about it the following day on the radio. I was 7 years old , but knew we were ugly Americans. I was so sad and scared. 😢I was in my 30’s before I saw the original news articles. They closed the base the following year. I ended up going to the JFK HS that had been dedicated the day before he died, in San Antonio.
@@blugnu1I went to JFK middle school in Clearwater FL
Our government did this.
I went to all 89 Texas state parks. Started in April 2020 and finished in April 2023.
Just finished visiting 48 states and the 51 national parks within them. Drove 90,000 miles in 3 1/2 years.... much of that was the 1000 miles through Texas every time I drove my cargo van back home to Houston. Yep, you drive 1000 miles in Texas and you're STILL in Texas 🙂
😂 it's the worst and best part of these trips, but it gets tiring to think after ten hours I'm still not out of Texas. That's a hell of a travel record you've got. I think I'm gonna take a stab at the state park one
Pops has a great voice and a wonderful job on the National Anthem!!!
The long road trip videos are my favorite!!! Such a treat. Thanks Josh and Pops as always for sharing your journeys with us!
I like how you add a respectful chunk of history into the mix of your videos. If you make it back to central Texas, you might enjoy peeking behind the traditional Cowboy and Mexican cultures, and instead digging into the German History of Texas. In the 1800's, Galveston was a major immigration starting point for German settlers, who spread throughout central Texas, often connecting with traveling groups of German immigrants who had previously settled in North Dakota, traveling up and down the rivers, working as carpenters. The combined groups of immigrants helped each other build their own towns, homes and churches. This resulted in the "Painted Churches" of south Texas -- unassuming, small buildings that were elaborately hand-painted and decorated inside to resemble the stone interiors of their traditional centuries-old church buildings back in Germany. Visit in October and you'll find many local Oktoberfests that aren't just excuses to party. Poke around and you can find a few community whose residents still speak German, and keep a traditional biergarten or two tucked behind local businesses and city buildings. During WWII, a number of towns hosted POW camps of German prisoners, many of whom worked as laborers for local farmers while detained, and ultimately forswore German allegiance so they could remain in Texas and become American citizens. Naturalized Germans remain as a small, hidden subculture in a lot of Texas communities.
Great job on history for me thanks .
Thanks bro for taking your old man to new places, he deserves all the love and care...

Oh my goodness, I’m a retired special ed teacher. I just knew Pops had to be an educator due to his good, informative comments. Love your videos!
I had a really good time hanging out with you and Pops in Houston.
This was great. I live in Waco and have been a Texan all my life. it was fun to see you go to places I have been before. Also, I saw a lot of places in downtown Dallas, Houston and San Antonio that I can not wait to visit because of your video.
I am healing from cancer treatments and surgeries so even though I do not have the energy to travel right now, I feel like I traveled with you and Pops. Thank you. Excited about your other videos.
Texan all my life and I haven’t visited all these place. Thank you Josh and Pops for sharing your adventures!
Got goosebumps when ur dad sang the national anthem! As an immigrant two national anthems mean different things to me.
Pop’s singing was the best part. He was great!
As a fellow texan, you made us proud. Beautiful video. There even places I haven’t visited that you made me aware. Thank you
This video almost made me cry. Spending time with your pops is so special. Love this so much 💞
Thank you for visiting Ray’s! The Lopez’ are apart of our huge huge family.
We hope y’all loved it!
Is it true? Is our Texan hospitality pretty great as outsiders say it is?☺️
What a blessing to have a Father & Son together to do these things. Both my Parents have been gone for many years. My Father almost 12 years & my Mother 4 & a half years now.
The most beautiful country in the USA. Yeah the great republic of Texas. Awesome video sir. What a beautiful trip.
Glad you enjoyed it! We had a blast in Texas
I really enjoyed watching this! I am a 5th generation Texan, and have lived in Corpus Christi, Waco, Houston, and now currently reside 45 miles northwest of Waco, 75 miles southwest of DFW! So many of these places I have seen, and there were a lot I didn’t know about! It is always great to see my state through someone else’s eyes.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! 😄 As a fellow Texan, it's always exciting to discover new things about our incredible state. 🤠 From the bustling streets of Houston to the charming beauty of Waco, there's always something to explore. And you're right, seeing our state through someone else's perspective brings a fresh and exciting view. 🌟 Keep on discovering, my fellow Texan! 🌵🌞
Oh my gosh! So funny!!! Poor Pops has to be a contortionist to get into that car!!😂
@jen6202 That scene there was really hilarious. loved every bit
haha yea that was hilarious to see. It took him like 4 days to realize that he could put the seat back more and get in easier
Loved the singing, Pops!
I was also at school and we were all gathered in our auditorium to see the television. I can remember how emotional the teachers were
While in Corpus you didn’t tour the USS Lexington, go to Padre Island National Seashore or ride the Port Aransas Ferry???? You all need another road trip! Thanks for taking us on this one.
Amazingly blessed to travel with your dad to all those places. I'm grateful he's super healthy to go with you. Keep living out loud and on purpose. ❤
Your dad is awesome. Please enjoy every minute with him. Love all your vids
Another fantastic video. I really enjoyed "Pops" singing . Keep up the great work guys🙂
Thanks for the tips, We're flying to Dallas from Germany in 10 days and I took lots of notes from you video. We've got 3 full weeks to cruise Texas in our 1959 Chevy Bel Air.
Love the long videos of you and your dad do, I can’t wait for the next one!
So glad you enjoy them!
I love watching you and Pops exploring together. Pops is adorable and great voice too! What a great Pops and son relationship.
hi father and son trip, you are so amazing, i' ve not been to one of the US states but seeing your video i feel i was there. You' re awesome
I had so much fun watching this vlog / traveling through Texas with y'all! Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm from Texas and have visited a few of these locations but I was surprised at how many of these fun places I"ve never heard of.
Same.
Glad you enjoyed it! I hope it encouraged you to visit a few new spots!
Love this one, as I do all the Josh-n-Pops videos…now, being a native Texan born and bred, I am duty-bound to say: “WHAT THE HECK DO YOU MEAN, GIVING IN-N-OUT A 10, POPS??!!” 😂 Just kidding, I know Californians regard IN-N-OUT as highly as Texans do Whataburger. Anyway, I’ll be hitting up some of y’all’s BBQ recommendations. 👍🏼
haha ya In-N-Out is definitely a major debate point 😂
And New Mexico has the best Christmas in the US. Christmas means Red and Green Chili here. Although I've been in many of TX places for BBQ and many In & Out in CA. But if you like great Mexican Food come to NM. I always look forward to your trips. Is a wonderful thing to see the great relationship between Father and Son...
@@cgreen186 And NM also has Blake’s Lottaburger! 😘
Once again, you guys have me craving BBQ. LOL!! Great video. You guys did a thorough job and as a fellow Californian, I can see that there is more to see in Texas than I originally thought. Thanks!!
I've lived in Texas for over twenty years now and didn't know about a lot of these places. Great video thanks for sharing.
This was awesome! We just moved to Texas and this was what we needed. You and Pops are fun, cool and enjoyable to watch. God bless!
🎉🤠 Yeehaw! This was simply AMAZING! We're new to Texas, and boy, did this hit the spot! Thank you for such an awesome experience. 🌟💯
I have been watching you and your pops for years now. I love you guys. The relationship is so real and your dads so special and you are very obviously to him ❤ I was inspired and convinced my brother to help me drive my son to visit his grandma in Portland from Los Angeles and bring along our dad whom has Alzheimer’s, fully knowing tommorow he won’t remember the beautiful moments of the trip my son my brother and I will
Watched the whole thing. Loved seeing the big places, food, and history.
THE TEXAS STATE RAILROAD in Rusk, TX is also something to check out if you love old trains.
Fantastic job Josh and Pops I really enjoy your trip journeys, there so informative and interesting! I look forward to the next adventure keep them coming.
-Awesome video. Love the great state of Texas
Loved this! One of your best, love seeing you and pops doing things together ☺️
Thank you for making this video. I am a Texan and have seen a lot of these places. Good job.
Lived here my whole life. My wife and I loved your video.

Another awesome video. I love it when you and pops are on the road! Also Pops can sing but I do love that song!
I loved this video…I’m from Texas & I learned about a few new places to go visit! My husband is a retired Texas Ranger, so I am very happy you enjoyed the Ranger Museum in Waco. 👍🏼
I'm kinda crushin' on Pops!
This video was beautifully made. Thank you for sharing.
You guys are super entertaining and funny.
Your dad (pops) is such a good sport and such a ham..
Thanks for showing the best of our adopted state.
I love your Pops! 🥰 Great job on the video! You kept it very interesting, thank you.
Oh my heart! Thank you Cory! He’s perfect. And when he fell asleep on Kristen, omg the sweetness. Love this for him and for your family.
Thanks for stopping there Fort Worth Tx. I appreciate you showing love to Fort Worth. Please come back.
I'm blessed to have found your channel. Your Dad and you have an awesome relationship. This video was great. I grew up in Dallas so that was a nice stroll down memory lane. I live in Houston and had no idea I could see the bats phenomenon here. We always drove to Austin for that. I have definitely made some notes on must do things next time I roll through any of these small towns. Your channel is a gem. So glad I found it.❤
Enjoyable video! I have been to Dallas several times and tried to explore the area as much as I could each time... I spent a month or more nearly every visit so I recognized many of the locations you visited.. and yeah I am about the same age as your dad, so I remember the whole Kennedy experience and watching the TV both at school and with friends. I did experience some great Thunder and Lightning storms but no Tornados. Thanks for sharing this I just hit the subscribe button :)
Not sure why you pick on your dad so much. He's an absolutely delightful guy and very fun, Actually, he's my favorite part of the journey and his joy of how beautiful things are. Happy for you you get to spend this time with him, I lost my dad in 98. And it's wonderful to see you guys having such a great time. Blessings
Another amazing and memorable trip for you and Pops!! Thank you for taking us along!!!
No problem, glad you enjoyed it!
❤ I loved the Texas Tour. We've been to so many spots you featured but inspired to revisit. We've stayed in Goliad before to paint the scenery, but it looked so romantic through your lense. I must go again. Your Pops is so cool and could not stop watching him eat all that BBQ. THANK YOU for featuring our beautiful Texas.
Thank you so much for sharing your travel with us. Love your epicurean experiences too yum yum yum
San Antonio here... Ty for coming and I enjoyed this entire video... so much fun. Memories 🪻
All us from el paso used to always getting left out 😢😢😂…. Fun video, Texas is so beautiful no one truly knows how amazing it is until you visit. Love my state

Love you guys, beautiful, calm and peaceful videos! 💖💖
Thanks a Million " Through My Lens" for your awesome Texas Video here. I lived in Texas for 17 years & I loved it & miss it immensely. I have Relatives still down there living. I hope that one day that I can return to Texas & to liive there again one day.
Come on home
Loved your video of Texas i was born and raised in EL Paso and now reside in San Antonio and love to visit Dallas, Austin and Corpus Christi when I have the chance again thanks for the video truly amazing.
Love you and pops! Great videos.
Well done 👏 ✔️ 👍 👌
Thank you for sharing this amazing Texas Rode Trip video........
Amazing places, wonderful landscapes. Congratulations. Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷
Nice trip. I could not live without the mountains ⛰️ . Greetings from Colorado.
Loved this video! Hey, Pops is a great singer!
That song your father sang and how the sound echoed back kind of gave chill-bumps! This may be hard to understand, but I found it so meaningful in a spiritual sense! hauntingly beautiful. Lots of love guys
I thoroughly enjoyed you guys' video and trip. Thank you for sharing.
We just finished 4 days on a Lake Palestine and had a great time: Tyler Rose Garden, Stanley’s (AWESOME)BBQ in Tyler, the American Freedom Museum in Bullard, lots of historic homes to see, gorgeous piney woods, huge lake with gorgeous sunset… East Texas did not disappoint and from central Texas it was an easy drive. Also saw the new locomotive mural in Hearne at Main & 4th. Hearne is a railroad town for sure!
Seventh-generation Texan here. Born in Dallas, grew up in Houston, went to school in Austin, and now living in San Antonio (with a short 25 year career in Hollywood thrown in somewhere in there). Pops is one cool dude. I got the "Michael Nesmith", "in situ" and other references, since he and I are of similar age. Really enjoy your videos, but the best thing of all is seeing a father and son traveling and experiencing life together. Wish to God I'd been able to do that with my dad, but hope to make up for it somewhat with my son someday while I still can, since he's turning eighteen this year. Anyway, you two have an obvious respect for Texas and understanding of its history, and made the trip interesting for even me...and I really appreciate you both.
Great video. Love how you guys travel together and explore places. Learnt about a few new things to do in Texas...and we are from Texas! 🙂
reat video! 😊 I absolutely loved watching you guys travel together and explore amazing places. It's so inspiring! 🌟 Can't believe we learned about new things to do in Texas, despite being from Texas ourselves. 😄👍 Thanks for broadening our horizon!
Love watching your adventures.
Love your dad love your laugh super trip. Thank you!
Very well done. Your videos are an inspiration to me! I love the detail you provide. I use it to map my own trips. Thanks for all the work you put into these videos
I really enjoyed watching this epic road trip! This has been my favorite one so far. It made me want to explore Texas.
I've lived here half my life and I've never seen any of these places. Thanks for showing me what's in my own back yard.👏🏽
This video is fantastic. I have lived in Texas for 40 yrs. I have added so many things that I must see and do just from watching your videos.
Glad it was helpful! We loved exploring Texas
I love your journeys, thank you for sharing ❤
You guys do an awesome job, and so cool you get to hang out together!
Glad y’all enjoyed your trips to Texas. This one was definitely not your first. All the major cities in Texas have two things in common traffic and good restaurants. Y’all should come back and do a backroads video. There are so many FM and RR that have great scenery, spring fed rivers and cool towns with good food. Good video thanks for sharing! 👍👍
Thank you for bringing me to Texas! Worth watching and enioyed as you did with your Dad who is a funny actor❤🌻
Loved the video! We did a Texas road trip earlier in the year so it was interesting to see the places that you visited. We did some of the same things, but you did find some unique experiences that I had not heard of before. The most surprising thing for me were the lines for the Texas BBQ. Mind blowing how early people line up for a spot in line. I like barbecue, but not sure I would get up at 3:00 am and wait that long to sample it.
Thanks for sharing! We enjoy watching your videos!
It was so cool watching yall in Goliad! My mom lives there, I grew up visiting La Bahia as a kid, and I just moved to San Antonio after living in Dallas for 15 yrs. ❤
Love your video. Can't wait to get back to Texas and have another look around.
I hope you enjoy your visit!
I am so interested in Texas and this video is awesome. I cannot imagine the fun you and your Dad had. This will be the perfect itinerary for my trip. Did you miss anything that you regret not seeing? Love all your videos.
I have lived in Fort Worth and now in Houston. Well done. I learned new things.
Loved this video!!
So fun to watch your visit to my hometown! I work right next to Hermann Park...such a great area!
I just want to say your videos are awesome and instead of going to the gym I laid in bed and watch this whole video LOL I love how you and your dad do road trips and thank you for making such great videos. Love from a fellow Texan ✌️✌️
I really love watching your videos and seeing your dad on them
