DreamXD may have canonical access to creative mode but Callahan could kill the world in a second if he wanted to
Underrated line time.
The line right after Dream says he's gonna kill and revive Tommy over and over again. Tommy hits him and backs up and Dream says "Don't hit me."
He says it in a very specific way.
He says it kind of like a parent. In a way that he knows full well Tommy can't hurt him when he hits him, but he's just disciplining him. That Tommy shouldn't hit. Like you would tell a small child after they hit you for not buying them the candy they want.
It's manipulative. It's demeaning.
It's perfect for the scene.
He also says it almost exactly the same way that Quackity did on his first visit to the prison.
This is the perfectly description of this scene👌✨
Dream is genuinely good at acting out a manipulator.

Exactly it seems as if in that moment tommy gave up, the st-stand back, is more of a plead than a demand

@@Devilspade looks better animated cuz..i mean- its a game of blocks. It's hard and/or not possible to show such actions, expressions and movements in game so that's probably why it looks better animated and didnt look as good when they were live streaming it-

I love the way dream says “ oh how’d you earn it?” It’s the type of tone a tired parent might use when their child claims to have traveled to the moon, the disbelieving “yes of course you did” Dream really is an amazing actor!
I love it when artists include the bloopers. It helps break the tension and its a healthy reminder that its just a story and Dream and Tommy are really good friends.
Overall, the animatic was gorgeous. Chef's kiss.
The detail of the mask reflection in Tommy’s eyes is so good, it added so much. Love this too much

But seriously this is so good. I love how you managed to even amplify the tension of that scene. Especially in the way the animation shows how Tommy freaks out at every single minuscule movement Dream makes, something that isn't as obvious in the RP. And then the tone shift was just funny. Loved your *Dream Vibrating at the Speed of Light* animation haha

The way he says this, especially in animated form (which captured it perfectly)... It's almost... pitying. I feel like some part of him believes what he's saying to at least be partially true, even if he knows Tommy has friends who would care.
Also the way he says "don't hit me", like a parent talking down to their child. The tone, just - every slight shift in his voice matching every subtle vibe this animation gives off freaking brilliantly. The animation shifts and matches Dream's tone side-by-side while still pulling off showing how Tommy is terrified. He freaks at every subtle movement Dream makes, because for all he knows, that was all it would take - would be one subtle moment, a flick of the axe, and it's over for him.
Just - mmmmm yes. The way the tone of the animatic matches Dream's subtle yet obvious shifts in tone, while still letting Tommy's fear and feelings display freely - yummy yummy angst food.
I don’t care what anyone says. This scene gave me chills. The first time I saw it. Dream knows how to play such a GOOD villain. Like- he sounds intimidating and I fucking love it.
1:26 I laughed a little when Tommy said, “no I dont” in such a bored voice like he was being asked a dumb question
Anyone else find his continuous threats followed by “don’t hit me” actually hilarious.

no words can describe how amazing this is. the expressions were so good, especially the part at 1:15-1:23. I GOT CHILLS. may also have nightmares lol. LIKE THE DETAIL WITH DREAM'S MASK IN TOMMY'S EYE? WHAT? genius.
the subtle movements like Dream laughing are so good and overall the entire thing’s just mwah as per usual. love the inclusion of the blooper too lmao

as much as I love when dream's mask is animated with different expressions, there's something so wonderful about it remaining the same no matter what. also the part just before the blooper was so chilling honestly it broke the tension at the perfect moment
this is simply amazing. it's so expressive and immersive?? the way you're able to make dream look ten times more intimidating plus the way you made sure to incorporate every little voice-acting detail just makes it a masterpiece in my humble opinion. I was holding my breath the whole time.
and then of course at the end I couldn't help but burst out laughing. the comedic moment and timing was 100% heightened by all the tension beforehand and you were amazing at capturing it.
I always love your stuff but you've really outdone yourself with this one :)))

Wow, this was incredibly creepy and cool at the same time! You did an amazing job of animating it, especially the way that their body language reflects the stress in Tommy's tone and the mania in Dream's. The blooper was great too, it really broke up the tension!

This is amazing! I’m so glad I made it to the premier. I love how ‘Axe Of Peace’ is carved into the Axe- that’s such a nice detail! And the facial expressions are so on point- I love it! Great work as always Kir!

Ни в коем случае не считаю Томми ангелом. Он причинил достаточно боли многим персонажам ,и до сих пор считает,что все его должны защищать по щелчку пальца.

god im watching this again and i love the pure terror youve put on tommys face, the discomfort when dream acts like a parent would to an unruly child. one of my favorite lines is when tommy says he earned the axe of peace, and dream seems to lean back and say “oh howd ya earn it?” in that way that a parent would ask their kid about something they got from school or a friend. just. god this is so delicious. also i love the moment where dreams talking about killing tommy, and you can see the smile in tommys eyes.

So expressive and good use of the camera angles.
Especially loved(feared) when Dream got really close to Tommy and you could see Dream's mask in Tommy's eye.
That was a very good shot.
But also all in all, the whole animatic was very good for a very terriyfing scene.

I think it would have been really cool if they just improved it as Dream immediately reviving Tommy, using his death to prove a point. Would have been a great way to recover from the mistake.
On the Hybrid SMP, I've had to do that a lot. We don't have as concrete a script, but people still manage to screw it up, so I've had to improvise quite a lot- and have actively made plans on the presumption that the other party is going to mess up.
