      The current U18 is the most tiki taka capable group I have ever seen in the Hale End. Although they are not LaMasia or ManCity academy level yet. But there are huge improvements already.
      When they play out from the back, they are quite comfortable on the ball with good touches, close control and short passes.
      A lot of our young players in the past have been massively overrated by our fans.

    Tom's such a class act. I watch his show 4-5 times a week. I'm consistently surprised to not see him invited to more shows, pods, etc. Smart, positive, *emotionally stable,* knowledgeable... Super grateful for his programming alongside Dif Knock, Bhavvs, Arsenal Vision, Arsecast, and Rory etc. We're pretty rich now, Gooners!

    I will not take any Tom slander 🙃, that guy works incredibly hard and is a class act. Runs a daily show before going to his job, interacting with a variety of opinions, some even extreme and still manages to keep his cool. I definitely couldn't do this, please more of Tom on the Canon podcast. If you don't like it please go kick rocks

    Great debate. I like the new format. Not sure if I appreciate the paywall long-term, but I tolerate that you value your time. To the subject: We aren´t just seeing a shift within the approach to loan / contract management. We also see a stronger approach on the playing philosophy. We just signed Nygaard who seems to fit the profile of Raya who we have in the first team. What I mean is that we aren´t just signing promising players. We start signing the "right" promising players who fit the profiles we want to fill in the first team. We are still a long way from structuring this new framework to reach the level of the Benfica or Ajax academies or the world-famous La Masia. I would be delighted if we were able to make a name for ourselves in the world of soccer academies. The early signs look promising.

    Talking of arguing but saying the same thing. I once had 2 drunk men in my taxi they were both saying exactly the same thing but they were wording it differently. They were getting more and more heated, I tried to interject but neither could understand that they were agreeing with each but wording it differently. Luckily we got to their destination, and they did the usual thing of slinging me all the change in their pockets which came to loads more than the fare. They continued to argue as they got out, despite saying the same thing but just wording it differently, they started to fight, so I just drove off to my next job. Absolutely ridiculous what alcohol does to you !

    As a club surely playing youth players even a little will increase their value and bring more money into the academy to improve it. Liverpool has played a lot of academy players and their values will be £5m+ where are youngsters are £500k+. IMO.

  • @reecea5432
    @reecea5432 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    The primary reason for arteta not giving away too many chances to the youth is because the academy has generally failed and fallen behind in the past 20 years.
    The arsenal academy is a myth, hence why they are needing to invest this summer

  • @marklocke5486
    @marklocke5486 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    The reason Liverpool are so good with their figures surely must have something to do with there injury list forcing them to play younger players

    The rivals Mancity (personally I don’t think ManCity is our rival as our goal is always CL qual not trophy’s, but anyway) can consistently generate 50M above pure profit from the academy. The issue of Arsenal academy is not necessarily all on whether Arteta use them or not, deeper issue lies in loan management, pathway design and marketing for huge profit. If you see the abysmal state of young gunners, no wonder Arsenal now deep into FSR problems and cannot flash on easy target like Olmo/Bruno.

    What happened to the conversation I was reading last night about how Mr Canton doesn't like dissent and blocks people. I came back this morning to have my say and the whole conversation seems to have been removed, That's bad form guys tut tut. I agree with those people though but, I won't say anything as now I'm not sure that you guys will allow it.

      @@DavidEdwards-k2d Yes of course my friend, I like them too and enjoy their content, I don't know as much about george but, he seems like a good guy and by removing my opinions they are looking out for their buddy I suppose which is fine as I would probably do the same thing and they haven't blocked me so fair enough. The only thing that concerns me is that you don't feel able to have your say, that doesn't sit right with me but, it's something worth remembering for the longer term I suppose. Thank you my friend 😄It seems Toms shadow has been cast haha.

    I don't think our academy is that great at the moment. We're also poor in loaning them out to the right club with the right atmosphere. Otherwise Arteta would've given them ample opportunities if he thought they were good enough.
