Remember Saka puts up these numbers when Arteta makes him defend like a RWB..... Saka defends like a menace and then still attack with a purpose and end product. Arsenal wouldn't swap him for any player in the world.

It annoys me that Partey is the guy that English Arsenal fans seem to under-rate. Partey is still the best 6 at Arsenal, Rice is not yet a top shelf tempo setter. Rice is good when partnered with someone to set the tempo because he is not press resistant at the level of Partey.

Very true. We are undermining him a lot for a few mistakes here and there. Given we have one of the best defences in Europe, it shouldn't be a problem for us to handle. What he gives for us on the ball is more important.

Don't compare, you become what you hate. Rice Played a ton of games in the 6 and we went on long winning runs, While Partey was unfortunately injured, they are both great players we are lucky to have them both.
I've been saying this for a while. He may have lost his legs a bit but he's still got much more on the ball than Rice and if we want to hurt teams he's the right guy.
If I'm honest, I wasn't convinced on Havertz when we signed him, after seeing him at Chelsea I thought Arteta had made a mistake.
Things started to change when he became comfortable and felt at home here and, when Arteta moved him up front he has just got better and better and better. I'm glad we haven't wasted £70+ million on another 1st choice striker in the summer, as some fans wanted us to, because Havertz is doing the job pretty much perfectly....... add to this the fact that no striker in the league works as hard as he does.

I'm happy Partey is getting his flowers. He's always been one of those players that needs a few games to get into a rhythm. It's not ideal, but to totally write him off is insane.
Will be very interesting when Merino is fully up and running as he looks to be the best natural fit for our LCM role

Amazing new series. Clive has been an inspiration for years as an Arsenal fan and is a true Arsenal-man. Seeing him getting on the media circuit is fantastic. Sensible analysis from a good person.
I agree with wanting us to finish off games in the 1st half. But remember last season? Arteta might be, once again, throttling energy output in order to last until the end. When Champions League matches get serious we'll need everyone firing.

I won't name the podcast but his game coverage constant criticism of Saka is diabolical all the way up until he scores or assists. I have no idea how lads pile onto his channel and take it! He often doubts Saka is world class? One of the very few that has been unshakeable and a stalwart for both club and country. He's carried arsenal when top strikers and forwards failed to deliver year-in-and-year-out! Starboy is a consummate baller!

Partey is better in the six role than Rice. His distribution is insane whenever he has the ball. He easily collects the ball from Raya and distribute it efficiently, something Rice struggles with. In the few games I have watched him, I feel like Merino is as slow as Partey in ball recoveries.

To think anyone thinks Partey is going to be dropped makes me laugh, he’s the best holding midfielder at the club, Rice is a tracking machine granted, but he doesn’t dictate games like Partey, and I haven’t seen enough of Merino to think he automatically displaces Partey!

Well done Benty for pointing out the importance of Partey. Merino is good, but he's no Partey. I don't know if the disrespect is coming from because he's an African or a black guy. However, these people want him out of the team. So many people were saying Rice coming to the club he'll bench Partey and take no.6 position, but it's the opposite Partey keeps his position and Rice is moved to no.8 as Partey is very crucial in the team.
This episode took forever. I thought it wasn't coming at some point.

Merino has hardly kicked a ball for Arsenal. He hasn’t earned a 1st 11 spot yet. It really irks me when certain styles of Arsenal fans talk about preferred midfield. That type of mentality was what made Arsenal winless in the last 2 decades.
Let's not kid ourselves, No Saka & No Odégaard means a lot of problems for Arsenal down the line. They are the cogs that make this Arteta machine work and not to mention the absence of Ben White and Timber, Arsenal have to pray to come through this next few weeks still in contention at the top of the Premier League until January where it is vital we buy quality back ups to both Saka and Odégaard.

The problem with Rice now is that he wants to play like Bellingham instead of sticking to what he does well and improve his understanding of the number six role which I think he's not mastered at all. He occupies wrong space when we're close to opponents box and makes us prone to counter attacks.

Salah: 10 matches, 6 goals, 5 assists (11 G/A)
Saka is a massive talent, no doubt. But he’s benefiting from taking corner kicks to drive up his assist numbers. And fair play to him for putting excellent balls into the box. But it’s another version of Palmer taking penalties for Chelsea. It doesn’t mean they are both not great players. But their stats get driven up by virtue of taking corners and penalties.
that’s why we watch football and take in consideration roles and responsibilities for teams instead of using stats to distinguish players that DO play in the same position but have different tasks
2 of his seven assist are from corners the rest all open play. Stop talking when you don't know or watch the player
He's 92nd percentile amongst top five Europe league wingers/attacking mids for live play shot-creating actions and 81st for dead ball shot-creating actions.
