Entered this in the EPIK life video contest and didn't even place- /side eye for days/ But I'm super proud of this video, and hope you enjoy watching what I've been up to for the past 9 months! :3 :3 :3 :3
gorl, tell me about it. I don't want to be shady but... 😒😒😒 lol but besides that- omg yay the feels! exactly what I wanted viewers to get from this video :3 and maybe you should look into it bb!
Ever since I first learned about teaching english in Korea I've wanted to go and do that with such a strong passion and it's videos like these that keep it alive.
I spent 2 year in EPIK in Yeongyang-gun in South Korea and just got back August of 2015. And brought home a homeless yorkie back with me!! BEST TIME OF MY LIFE! Thank you Korea!
I want to do this in ththe future. This is amazing, but I want to go knowing Korean also. I'm going to use these years that I'm still in school and get fluent in Korean. Your video is so inspirational thank you 😁❤️
I'm working on my TESOL certification right now and this was JUST the motivation I needed to continue and get pumped (well, *more* pumped) about applying for EPIK and moving to Korea. Thank you!
I find it truly inspirational to see that a Hispanic female do a program such as EPIK. It is my dream to teach English abroad! I loved this video and it has furthered my desire to work hard and join a program like EPIK. Gracias!!
Im so glad you are being such a warm and positive influence to them like dancing with them after school and taking pictures with them, and just over all showing kindness. I know that Korea is very harsh with school and also teacher and student or adult and student relationships can be tricky. So im sure they appreciate you so much and feel they can go to you to feel better and feel close
WOW is all I have to say!!! I start orientation with EPIK tomorrow and could not be more excited thanks to this video! Your views on teaching and living in Korea are exactly what I've had in mind for this next year living in Daegu. Thank you SO much for sharing this video!!!
2:25 o.O she was bout ready to throw some hands sksk but I quite like this video. It makes teaching look fun, especially in Korea, which is what I want to do. So thank you for providing us with high quality videos!
I was going around youtube looking for EPIK reviews and found some really discouraging ones. But then comes your channel. The positivity in this video sums up what I was looking for. At first, I was only interested in going to Korea, but seeing your students touched my heart. I aspire to be good in teaching (if ever I'd pursue it 😂) and be brave enough to work there just like you. All the best! ❤️
Ah, I loved this so so so so so much. I know several people who have taught overseas in Korea and in China, and they ABSOLUTELY loved it. Your life literally is amazing, keep living it and thank you for sharing it with us!
+SeeKaysee yayayayay. I guess this is my explanation for maybe not always being consistent on youtube OTL lololol. Yeah the teaching experience has been overall positive so I'm really grateful for it! And of course my life here has been a whirlwind of awesomeness with some not to awesome moments but I'll happily look over those times ~! kekeke.
WOW! This is the best EPIK teacher video I've seen! leaving next month to teach through EPIK and if I have even a quarter of what you experienced, I'll be glad :D
This video is amazing , love the way you put it together. This deserves more recognition it was so interesting and covered so much in so little time. So inspirational!!
Hey! I will be going in August! Thanks so much for this...it inspired and excited me! It was a great video! gave me such insight into your life and yu seem to embrace it with joy!
Oh wow! That's amazing!!!! Oh no no- you're welcome homie!!!! Yeah it's the best way to do things- just try to be positive, send out good vibes and enjoy life!
I've been working towards my goal to become an ESL teacher and teach in SK for the past year, but was still undecided about EPIK. Watching this I cried and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be signing up lol amazing video! ❤❤❤ it should have won, but at least you're still able to help inspire people 😊 thank you!
wow :) great video. sad that you didnt place (lol 3 years later)... haha currently studying neuroscience and planning on going to medical school to become a doctor, but sometimes i wish I could just step back and see where the flow leads me without thinking that I have to do this or have to do that.
I’ve been thinking of teaching in Korea since highschool... I’m in my last year or uni and graduate in summer. I’m applying for Fall 2021. I think it’ll really help me grow and I love this video and everything you say!! Thanks for posting this :) makes me even more excited to apply!
oh my god the sign part with that half heart THAT IS SOOOOO CUUUTTEEE!!! i'm so happy for you to have experienced all of that, def a really memorable time :3
+bringerofvictory omg I know, these girls are the qt-est and the funniest ~~ && thanks Bernice! It was once I put this all together that I'm realizing how crazy and wonderful these 9 months have been :3
Oh my gosh this litterally made teaching in Korea look a billion times better!!! After seeing all the horror stories this wipes away any fears I had!!!
Absolutely amazing! I'm so happy you are having such an amazing time!! I wish I had the nerve to apply. My gift to myself for getting my master's is a trip so South Korea so that may make up my mind for me!!! :)
I'm super glad to be from Canada and to be able to be an EPIK teacher if I can even though English is not my first language (it's my second of course since I live in Quebec of Canada) but yeah I really hope to do something like this in the future, your video is amazing, made me tear up a bit haha, it's so wonderful
Amazing! My interview is on Monday...been following your latest vids but just discovered this gem (I specified I want to live in Seoul but won't mind if I get Daejeon...you made it look epic...pun intended). Loving it!
This was a very inspirational video!!! Im a senior in high school and have been thinking to learn Korean and teach abroad. It would be so cool to learn other cultures and meet different people. Im only scared that I won't be the fun and amazing teacher that i want to be to the kids. Thank you so much for this video!!
Your video is so lovely and positive. I've some other EPIK videos that make it sound not so great. I'm applying to teach after I graduate so still about 2 years away but I can't wait
This is so inspiring!! I'm finishing my TEFL certification now and I'm trying to decide where I should apply.. I'm thinking now I will definitely apply to the EPIK Program. :))))))))))))))
Wow, you're time with EPIK LIFE, and all things you've done were so inspiring! It really captured life in Korea in the most open-minded and positive way. I am really looking forward to many new experiences when I go to study in Seoul as an exchange student at SNU. Thanks for sharing:)
+Vannak Uk thanks Vannak!!! It's really awesome that you felt that way watching this video. I'm so happy that I've been able to really communicate my message about living here :3 Hope your stay in Seoul is amazing~!
Omgsh, this is AMAZING girl! It seriously warmed my heart just watching this. What an awesome experience you've gotten to take part in and I'm so happy to see/hear how it's turned out. Makes me want to become an English teacher! xD You're one rad teacher though, because acting out One Piece?? And introducing yourself through Kpop? WHAT!? American teachers need to step up their game...
+The Dragonfruit aw yayays~~ I would say it wouldn't hurt looking into it meng! Yes I love One Piece- so my kids needed to know about it too hahaha. I'm fortunate to be in my school situation that I'm in; my schools really give me alot of creative freedom :3 yay, I'm glad you got the reaction I was looking for :3 :3 :3 /girl me too- still salty over it OTL/ lolol
This was absolutely AMAZING and INSPIRING! Such an awesome video! ^___^ If I wasn't already in Korea, this would for sure make me catch the next incoming flight! Ha ha! The fact that you also like anime and incorporated it in class was a plus as well. 😁
+Xuffed678 Thanks Gabriel!! This is definitely one of my all time fav videos I've done :3 && I love anime- so I just had to use that opportunity to make my kids love it too haha. I see that you live in Busan! That's awesome sauce, how are you liking it thus far?
+YO' HOMEGIRL I'm liking it a lot! I've been to Seoul for my orientation and I'm glad that Busan actually reminds me of my home area in the states. City areas are super accessible, but where I actually live it's pretty chill and not too too busy. ^___^ Not saying that Seoul is bad, I had an amazing time there and would love to visit again. I'm super sad Busan practically never gets snow though! Seoul is the opposite I hear.
Xuffed678 Oh thats nice~! Glad to hear you're enjoying your time~ Yeah theres a ton a snow in Seoul- and up north... more than I expected but its cool!
What a charming lady and wonderful teacher you are! I wish I had a fabulous teacher like you when I was growing up! As a teacher myself, who is moving to Seoul this summer, I am inspired by your energy and passion for what you do. Keep it up!
Samantha Binns you are far too kind 😭😭 I just really hope that they are happy and confident 😌☺😃! also thats amazing to hear!! I'm sure you'll do an incredible job! Just remember to think about the childreeennn~~ 💕💖💓
Dang straight! It is all about the kiddywinks and encouraging them to grow up to the be the most awesome human beings they can possibly be. I just discovered your channel and love the good vibes you put out in the world. Kindness, creativity and mischief, these are the important things. I hope you and all your viewers are having have a chocolate filled day.
;;;;; - ;;;;;;!!!! Yes exactly!!! That mindset will help you get through those days when they are acting like little poops kekeke- do what cha can in helping them grow~! Aw but dude that's so so so heart warming to hear! Like I seriously makes me so happy that people can feel the positivity that I try to put out there. Life can be crappy at times, but staying positive always helps, and I hope I can help too
Cyber hugs right back at you, missy! Please keep making your colourful, sparkly videos as the world benefits from nice people like you sharing positive energy. My gran told me it is nice to be nice which I think this is some of the best advice I ever received. Your videos are testament to this. Thank you!
Waahh~~ Will do Samantha!! Yeah it's really easy to be nice, too much energy to be negative. Although sometimes it can get the best of us- but welp always learning right? && Thank you for watching and enjoying!
I know this is a very old video, but I've been binge watching a few videos on this channel hehe. Ahhhh, this is a great vid, all your vids are tbh. Very well edited and chill. You remind me so much of a friend of mine haha, she too likes to refer to everyone as "dude". The Epik program does sound AMAZING, but sadly I'm not from one of the eligible countries, and tbh, living in Japan is my dream >.< But if that were to happen (God I beg you), I would totally visit Korea frequently!!! But yeah lol, great video!!!! GREAT CHANNELLLLL!!!!! Oh, I also worked as an English teacher a few years back, but only as a volunteer and in Nepal. Seeing your interactions with the kids makes me miss the kids I taught back then. I was there only for 2 months, but gosh, cried like a baby when I had to say goodbye :(((( Esp because they got me a nice parting gift, that I still have, chilling on my desk. Seeing this really makes me want to go back, just gotta save up enough money welp.
What is the best part about living in Daejeon? I wanna put that location in my EPIK application but I'm not sure what to tell the interviewer if he/she asks me why I chose the location. I don't wanna say that it's close to everything and that it's a chill city. That would be wayyy too personal 😵
+clia10892 hmm- I think saying that would be fine tbh. What else are you supposed to say?? Just word it differently like- I've done alot of research on the city, and I think it's a great fit for me. I also really like that it's in the middle of Korea- I think I'll be able to experience alot of what Korea has to offer! /smile smile/
Going in October ^^ depending on how my three week trip goes, I am thinking of applying to teach. So excited! I can't wait to eat everything in sight lmao I can't believe this vid didn't win, its so good! They did you dirty 😂
I’m applying to epik and am torn between Daejeon and daegu as my second choices to Busan. I know that Busan will nearly be impossible so I want to make sure I put a good second choice. Have you been to daegu? I hear it’s very conservative and unbearably hot. Did you like Daejeon?
Hey! Awesome video. Looks like you had an awesome time. The epik.go.kr website hasnt been working for the last two days? Is it still running? Ive visited the Korvia website which I believe acts as a recruiter for Epik. Have they taken over the entire operation? Hope to get some insight. Thank you.
Thank you for this video, I hope when i grow up i can be an EPIK teacher in South Korea :) ahh side note i went kayaking at Morro bay California and seals kept swimming aside from me and it was magical lol
I need to be from the States or UK to apply this EPIK program (I mean having English like your first language)? I'm from Spain and I'm learning English so I'd like to know if I could go in a near future. I tried to enter in the webside but my mobile says that is dangerous... T.T I just love you're video. (sorry for the bad english u.u)
Hey, the requirements are that you are a citizen from the following countries UK, USA, NEW ZEALAND, AUSTRALIA, SOUTH AFRICA or CANADA. I want to apply to but I am portuguese. However, I have lived in England for 10 years now and I did my education since year 7 and obvious I am fluent in English. I am gonna try get British citizenship. Also they normally say Native English speakers but not sure if fluent is still fine.
Hi! I want to go but I'm really nervous about how different everything is. I love to travel but I've had the good fortune of always being able to speak the language. Tips? Is it easy to acclimate? I'm scared of the food. How do you grocery shop? Halpp
+princessyrandom1214 haha- its alright dude. Yeah there are going to be some things that are really different. Best tip I can give you is to be very open minded. Theres still things that I cant wrap my head around, but for the most part in order to keep my sanity at times, I've been fortunate enough to be able to acclimate rather quickly no matter where I go. Most of it being due to the fact that I stress again- being open minded. It also helps to find things that help you relieve any stress, or find things that give you comfort if you're ever homesick. Also the language barrier- well depends on where you live, if you live in a city you can probably get away with knowing such the basics. However in the rural part- probably would have a bit of a hard time. and the food- that's been my biggest problem as I don't really eat spicy food but I manage to still be able to eat out. in terms of grocery shopping, vegetables are a bit expensive here and there will be a handful of things that won't be easily accessible- but like I said you gotta manage. I've known people to have negative and positive experiences...... I tend to be someone who is optimistic- and tries to find the positive in things- it really depends on your outlook on life's challenges and a tad bit if you have thick skin at some points. sorry if that was all over the place! hope that helps!
+YO' HOMEGIRL No this is all super useful! Thank you for taking the time for writing out such a long comment I really appreciate it, the most feedback I get is usually a sentence or two. I'd like to think of myself as optimistic but I know I'm a special snowflake. I'd rather have it told in this circumstance straight up and being happy when I get there rather than let down. I think the worst I would be off is the rural part but I'm hoping to offset that with exploring the country. Is it easy to budget time and money for that? All your videos are great btw!
princessyrandom1214 Glad to help, even if its a little bit~! Hmm well yes if you budget wisely then yes you can definitely save money. However talking from my own experience- I haven't really saved any money because I have been constantly traveling within Korea- and going to festivals or visiting friends in other cities... I've also gone out very frequently with friends ever weekend- or just gone eating out alot.. u____u- but if you set in your mind that you want to save, give yourself a budget every week/month and stay true to it. Then you'll be able to succeed~ Also if you go into EPIK, when you complete your first contract and leave- you get alot of things like a pension, severance pay, and exit allowance.. but for those things I'd look up the details online on the official website. && Thanks for supporting ~~
THIS MAKES ME WANNA GO EVEN MORE GOD DAMMIT

Aaw this is so cute. The don't die early had me cracking up.
I loveeeeeeeed this video. It seriously gave me chills. Any tips on lesson planning?
This looked awesome.
Is it difficult to come up with the lesson plans??
This definitely was inspiring!!! Have always dreamed of living and working in a different country, will do it one day!!
Dang, this is a really awesome and well-made video!
I'm soooo excited to apply for epik!! Your adventures look amazing!! Still have 4 more years til I finish and get a bachelors though TT_TT
I honestly loved this video so so much😊💖
OMG, with this video I have finally decided to do epik!! have to wait for 4 years though 😂😅.
but this legit called to mee!!
I am so HYPED for my new goal!!!
Going in October ^^ depending on how my three week trip goes, I am thinking of applying to teach. So excited! I can't wait to eat everything in sight lmao
I can't believe this vid didn't win, its so good! They did you dirty 😂
not your ghoulfriend lmao ghoulfriend ju know they did hahaha. I hope you have a great trip!
Thank you.

Chibi thank u Chibi~~~!
All your videos are great btw!
princessyrandom1214
Glad to help, even if its a little bit~!
Then you'll be able to succeed~
Also if you go into EPIK, when you complete your first contract and leave- you get alot of things like a pension, severance pay, and exit allowance.. but for those things I'd look up the details online on the official website.
&& Thanks for supporting ~~
