It’s great that you are teaching them about racism, not many koreans grow up educated about it, so it’s nice that these kids are!

@노랑오리 yes but it’s good kids learn about racism so if they want to visit America or somewhere else they won’t offend anyone or get into trouble

When it comes with showing movies at my school, we HAVE to have a lesson for it. So since we weren't learning anything out of the book, I decided to talk about Race and Racism. I thought it was a great opportunity for me to speak with my soon to be high schoolers about this because they may never have that chance to talk about race like that, with someone of a different race again in their lives. My coteacher agreed that this was a good idea and supported the topic about race. Now my 3rd years will go to highschool enlightened about the plight of other races #noexcusetobeignorant

These student go to high school next year. They may never have a relationship with someone of another race again, so trying to take full advantage of my last moments with them, letting them know life from different perspectives.

Oh okay. I forgot how different the school system is over there. When you said third graders I immediately thought 8 year olds. Nonetheless, I'm glad that you are making these types of situations know to them, and helping them to see the world outside of their own. You're the perfect person to be teaching these kids. I hope they can take at least something out of your lessons about race based discrimination and apply it to their lives for the better.

There goes my favorite Christmas game! xD Personally, I think middle school students will always have a special place in my heart. They can speak enough English to have some good conversations with them but still have fun, whereas in elementary, you are limited to basic sentences and words. Even if the middle school students don't understand everything you say, you can get them thinking about some things outside of the classroom. Teach these children, Nat!

the Christmas tree game was so creative! I'm glad to see that you are actually caring about the lessons you produce and what you teach to the students. I've heard (and know) a lot of teachers that don't really care about the learning portion of becoming a teacher and just bs their way through it
for your class that wanted to finish the movie, did they not have a class going on at that time? are they allowed to just go into another teacher's classroom? lol how does that work?

So actually, my coteacher teaches classes on her own as well (grammar classes) and she had nothing to teach either, so the students begged her to come to my class to watch the movie instead of just sitting at their desks having free time.

I was thinking elementary but just seeing you interact with middle school students its making me change my mind. I just love how your lesson even if it was just on an "off day" was so much fun and engaging. The students seem very lovely and I loved how they were in the camera photo bombing to be seen and smiling. It was just wonderful! Congratulations on the Plus Size fashion show! As one educator to another, you are doing a wonderful job with your students. As a Korean-American, your presence and the presence of international language teachers have made a huge difference in Korea. I have visited my relatives in South Korea throughout the years and comparing how it was in 1988 and in the 1990s and now today, its like night and day. People in Korea, especially the young generation has more of a global mindset and more receptive to diversity compare to years past. Blessings to you and your students. God bless!

I think it's really important starting discussions about race and injustices that occur with people of colour. As you know, it's important for them to understand that especially now that a quite a few black people live in Korea (and the population of black people and other people of colour is probably going to grow quite a lot of a few years.) Also, I loved how played games with your students. You seem like a really cool and fun teacher!

Hi! This video is very inspiring! I love how much you care about your students and your passion in teaching to help them understand the world and grow as individuals. I loved seeing their happy faces, especially when playing the games (which are super creative by the way! I'm jealous!). I would love to become a teacher, just like you, but I'm really shy and can get very anxious in front of groups of people. I taught art at a summer camp last year but I was constantly scared to accidentally say the wrong thing and be laughed at. I had an experience in middle school when I was laughed at in my class and it has haunted me ever since. I'm currently finishing my second year in university and the more I watch your videos, the more I want to pursue a teaching career. But, being a very shy person has made it seem impossible. Do you have any advice for me? I would really appreciate it. I love your videos and I'm obsessed!! Thank you for sharing your life with us! I wish you an amazing day and I hope your year is going well.

They are in high school and they need someone to translate what their teacher is saying omg 🤦🏻‍♂️ i’m from Morocco were the native language is Arabic. And in high school students already speak (or at least understand) French and English and in some regions also Spanish. When i was in high school (2009) i started learning Korean and stopped in 2014. Lately i gained again interest in korean culture and language, and found myself able to read and write hangul perfecty and speak a little bit and i can even understand sometimes when a native korean is talking.
