Magic Editor tools in Google Photos for Chromebook Plus

Chromebook Plus devices are getting a Google Photos upgrade. One of the bonus features Google delivered for Chromebook Plus devices last year was the Magic Eraser tool, inherited from the company’s range of Pixel smartphones. Now, Google is supplementing it with some AI-driven features in the “Magic Editor” tool.
Beyond removing distractions, you can now manipulate your photos in creative ways. Simply select people, pets, or objects and effortlessly resize or reposition them within the frame. Want to make your cat the centre of attention? No problem!
There’s also a portrait setting that enables you to blur the background after you’ve repositioned your subject - although this didn’t seem to work so well on our furry test subject.
Magic Editor also includes one-click AI edits that are perfect for landscapes. Replace a bland sky with a dramatic sunset with the Sky option, or bathe your photos in the warm glow of Golden Hour. Feeling more artistic? The Stylise option goes all out, giving you a choice of more substantial edits that include a convincing painting effect.
With these new AI features, Chromebook Plus users have more tools than ever to enhance and personalise their photos.
