Thank god for TH-cam is an underrated statement.

Great work - I fitted a Windpilot, I’m now a bit envious & wish I’d realised I might have been able to construct my own, looking good!

Another great insight through sharing your experience first hand. Thanks. Yes, I found it could be easy to make mistakes during the build process. I also found climbing over the lines problematic so bought the 'remote control' package but I've yet to fit it. I'm only a few steps infront of you with sea trial progress, so interested in how you progress. I share your optimism about performance and aware that inshore sailing presents more changeable wind conditions. Good luck!

I'm glad you said that about the instructions! I've just taken delivery of an H1 kit and had to watch TH-cam vids several times before the text began making any sense at all. I could have done with some pictures of the finished product, the WHOLE thing, maybe a video tour shot on land with explanatory commentary. Some of us are not engineers and may not be used to looking at plans (front and side elevations) and visualising the finished 3D object. If I get mine built, I might have a go at that. (Or you could...)

It's a good idea. I did intend to do a walk round of my finished Hebridean... Needs a bit of varnish first I think

HEAR YEE, HEAR YEE ! 3D shots / diagrams and a video or two with the plans would have made SO much difference! Just about finished now and hope for sea trials in a week or so.

Good to see the return of the red bunnet! Looking forward to seeing you race past me as we head out the western entrance to Plymouth Sound.

What’s that? Are you... doing the jester this year?

@@SVRoquetta At 10.1m (33ft in old money) I'm too long. Heading up to Kirkwall, but will see out testing the new self steering gear. Planning to do the Azores in 2022.

Great video. Nice info on the hebridean. I don't think you mentioned what it cost.

Yup, I did. Nice to see you stop by mate 😉

To work in fickle winds first time out of the box. That’s well set up and good news. I don’t think you had the main up either so the boat was not balanced. It still worked...more good news. Peter.

Indeed, this test was more about checking the travel and leverage than anything else - it’s promising and I learned a lot from it. I’ve re routed the control lines for less friction and better leverage now, sea trial as soon as weather permits 👍

Nice job! Need to test it out in some real weather but looks good so far. Of course Ive taken my wind vane off and I've decided not to bother with it. I made it to the Med without and this year it will be July before I get to the boat so the sun will definitely be out for my solar which might get an upgrade. Do you know the dates for the Jester? I think I might be a bit late, but the boss sent me to the naughty corner for putting some Monty Python on the Bung thread and was kind enough to tell me where it was roughly, so I think I might go there instead!!

I’m filming sea trials now actually, jester Azores starts on 21st June this year, I’m already feeling the pressure! Naughty corner 😂😂😂😂😂😂
